Abstract: Rubber stamp cleaning apparatus comprising a roll of self-adhesive tape rotatably mounted on a base having a platen upon which a portion of the tape is secured tacky side up. The stamp is cleaned by tamping on the tape.
Abstract: This is a device for cleaning a blanket mounted around a cylindrical drum of a printing machine. The device has a vessel arranged to open upward with an upper opening thereof facing a downwardly convexed bottom portion of the blanket and supported to be movable up and down, a pair of rollers mounted in the vessel adjacent the opening thereof so as to carry a strip sheet material thereon as bridging therebetween, and a nozzle mounted in the vessel so as to project a jet flow of a cleaning fluid upward against the bridging portion of the strip sheet material.
Abstract: Method by cleaning of printing ink and printing mould from the screen of a serigraphical frame (3), where the screen is cleaned with high pressure water to which has been added alkaline washing powder, to loosen the printing ink and the printing mould, thereafter flushing the screen with high pressure water to remove possible remaining printing ink and printing mould and finally to dry the cleaned screen for reuse.
Abstract: A device for cleaning a rotary type-carrier, in which a brush which contacts the type-carrier continuously to clean it during normal operation may be moved so that its rotary center is positioned more closely to the type-carrier. As a result, as the brush wears out, it may maintain contact with the type-carrier, obviating the need for frequent replacement.
Abstract: A blanket cleaner for removing dust, lint or ink from a blanket cylinder in an offset printing press during the uninterrupted course of a press run. A first fluid cylinder periodically urges a brush against the blanket cylinder and retracts the brush from the blanket cylinder. Retraction of the brush permits the dust and lint swept before the brush to fall onto a door of a lint catcher. The door is raised and lowered by action of a second fluid cylinder. Operation of the second fluid cylinder lags the operation of the first fluid cylinder by an interval of time sufficient to permit the dust, lint or ink to fall onto the door. In the preferred embodiment, the structure includes a device for removal of debris from the lint catcher.

Abstract: A device for cleaning a cylinder of a printing machine by a washing cloth rolled from a supply roll and brought in contact with the surface of the printing cylinder by a pressing arrangement includes two rollers for transporting the washing cloth, a cutting device and a spraying device. The cleaning device is formed as a functional unit removable from and pivotable and lockable in opposite side walls connectable to the printing machine.

Abstract: Improved apparatus for servicing the inking assembly of a printing press. The apparatus minimizes the likelihood that supplies of different colored inks will be contaminated during the servicing of the inking assembly of a printing press and permits a pressman to completely service the inking assembly without having to leave the site of the printing press.
Abstract: An offset printing machine including an impression cylinder cleaning device which is laterally positioned and removed from a location below the impression cylinder of the machine. The cleaning includes a cleaning mechanism, a window and supports in the main frame of the printing machine, and a cleaning mechanism positioning device provided on the main frame. The cleaning mechanism includes a cleaning tank and a group of rollers including a cleaning roller coupled to auxiliary frames which are rotatably supported between main frames of the cleaning mechanism. A plurality of guide bars extend from a position below the window in the printing machine frame. The cleaning mechanism positioning device brings the cleaning mechanism into the proper position below the impression cylinder once the cleaning mechanism is inserted through the window.
Abstract: New blanket cleaning liquid flows from an inverted bottle 16 inserted through a hole 7 in the upper arm 8 of a U-shaped bracket 5 to a cleaning bath 2 via a spring biased push valve 20 in the bottle, a supply pool 9 in the lower arm of the bracket beneath the pouring mouth of the installed bottle, and a three-way control valve A. The latter may selectively communicate the supply pool with the cleaning bath in a delivery mode, or communicate the bath with a used liquid storage bottle 28 in a discharge mode. The bath is vertically disposed at a position proximate that of the bracket, whereby the liquid level in the bath is automatically maintained at the same level as the new cleaning liquid in the supply pool, which in turn is maintained at the height of the pouring mouth lip of the bottle 16.
Abstract: A developed photopolymer layer is completely removed from a support substrate of a printing plate. Such photopolymer is developed by photoinitiated polymerization from at least one water-soluble ethylenic monomer and includes a partially saponified polyvinyl acetate. For removal, the photopolymer layer is immersed in boiling water for sufficient time to swell the layer and then the swollen polymer is scraped from the printing plate.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning and re-inking a fibrous printer ribbon carried on first and second reels and having foreign matter thereon comprising a frame, first and second pairs of rotatable spindles mounted in the frame so as to define parallel axes and capable of holding the first and second reels, first and second motors for rotating the first and second pairs of spindles, an elongated inking roller rotatably mounted in the frame between and parallel to the axes for contacting and applying ink to the printer ribbon, a metering roller rotatably mounted in the frame parallel to the inking roller for metering ink onto the inking roller, a trough disposed beneath the inking roller for containing ink and providing such ink to the inking roller, a reservoir capable of holding ink for supplying ink to the trough, an elongated brush rotatably mounted in the frame intermediate the second pair of spindles and the metering roller for contacting, forcibly removing the foreign matter and opening the fibers of the ribbon,
Abstract: Apparatus for printing from a conventional embossed credit card and an embossed identification card having a picture, thumbprint and other embossed identifying indicia of the holder thereon. The apparatus includes an inker for inking the embossed indicia and a platen, both including carriages riding in a common track. In several modifications the apparatus includes means for cleaning the residual ink off the indicia after printing.
