    Abstract: Assembled track sections are replaced with a mobile apparatus moving along the track and having an elongated overhead girder extending above a transport vehicle or vehicles and projecting beyond an end thereof. A guide track extends in a transport plane along the girder and a trolley is mounted on the guide track for movement therealong, the trolley including a vertically adjustable hoist for lifting and lowering a respective track section and for conveying it along the guide track in the transport plane. Gantry supports for the girder project laterally beyond the longitudinally extending sides of the vehicle(s) for leaving therebetween a transverse space for permitting the passage of an assembled track switch section therethrough, the gantry supports including supports mounting the girder on the vehicle(s) and vertically adjustably supporting the projecting part of the girder on the ballast bed.

The trolley includes a beam for carrying and laying an assembled section of the railway track including rails fastened to ties. A vertically and transversely adjustable flash butt welding machine is arranged below the carrier frame and in the region of the region of the forward end of the car for welding the rails of the assembled railway track section laid by the beam to the rails on the railway track whereon the car is mounted. Associated with the welding machine are devices for removing the welding bead resulting from the flash butt welding of the rails to each other.

At least one retaining ring is located about the shaft between a ball bearing and an end plate. The generally rectangular shaped frame of the rail roller device is formed of four frame members each constructed from a length of angle iron. The frame is constructed so that a pair of frame members located parallel to the longitudinal axis of the roll surface can be set between rail ties.

    Abstract: A train assembly for replacement of an old rail track by a new one with long rails comprises a permanently coupled train section including an open-frame wagon with rails carrying gantries for removal of track panels through the open frame and placing new cross-ties. The open-frame wagon has a bogie able to run on the track but retracted during operation and replaced by caterpillar tracks running on the ballast, or by rollers running on the new rails placed temporarily beside the track. The new rails are then brought together and fixed on the newly-placed cross-ties, so that the rear part of the train assembly runs on the new track whereas the front part runs on the old track.
