  • Patent number: 3971459
Abstract: A protective housing is provided for electrical rails and the like, namely, reaction (secondary) rails and slide pick-up lines for operating electro linear propulsion motors for monorail vehicles. The new and improved housing is of simplified construction and enables comparatively large protective plate members to be assembled in the form of a tight housing on elevated monorail structures. The protective plates may be readily removed and slidingly displaced to expose the normally protected electrical components for maintenance, replacement or repair.

  • Patent number: 3954065
Abstract: An overhead conveyor having an accumulation dock and crabs which are movable in a track, which crabs can be temporarily arrested in the accumulation dock. For their movement the crabs can be coupled to a transporting chain circulating in the accumulation dock and provided with pivotable pawls which can be locked to a coupling element of the crabs. For arresting the crabs the pawls are unlocked by means of stationary pivotable uncoupler assemblies which are controlled by the crabs. The transport is started again by the successive automatic coupling of the crabs to the transporting chain.

  • Patent number: 3953980
Abstract: The dock includes a pair of substantially vertical support members having a vertically adjustable collar mounted on each. The deck portion of the dock has one end attached to the pair of adjustable collars and the other end supported through at least one pair of cables, each attached proximate the free end of the deck member and passing over a V-way at the top of the respective vertical support member with its other end finally anchored to the ground inland of the shoreline. The dock is thus vertically adjustable by means of the cables and collars to accommodate to the height of the changing levels of water. It is furthermore pivotable upwardly from the water surface to avoid damage such as might result in periods of high water or winter ice formation along the shoreline.

  • Patent number: 3949679
Abstract: An amusement ride, especially a trailer mounted amusement ride, in which passenger cabs, or compartments, are suspended from a track which has one reach extending longitudinally along the trailer on the outside and another reach inside the trailer following a sinuous path therethrough. The track portion outside the trailer is detachable therefrom for transporting the ride from place to place. The trailer vehicle is also adapted for being coupled to another trailer vehicle in end to end relation to form an elongated ride. The passenger cabs, or compartments, have individual drive motors thereon for propelling the cabs along the track and each motor is battery powered by a battery on the respective cab. Conveniently, battery charging rails are provided inside the trailer so that the batteries are charged while the cabs are moving inside the trailer and the cabs run solely on battery power while outside the trailer.

  • Patent number: 3938445
Abstract: An overhead transportation system comprising for a depending and longitudinally traversible vehicle an overhead trackway as a pair of longitudinally slottedly vented tubular conduits maintained above the earth's surface with a series of pillars and having an overlying protective shield. The vehicle powering means comprises a pair of co-traversible jet engines situated within respective conduits and connected to the underlying vehicle with a dual-arms hangar means along which arms the engines' fuel-line extends. The trackway is lubricated from a longitudinally extending lubeline with syncronizeably operated nozzles spaced therealong and communicating with the conduit innerwall, and a longitudinally extending troughline collects the liquid lubricant, there being provision for re-cycling the lubricant for high-pressure re-injection into the conduits through said lubeline nozzles.

  • Patent number: 3938447
Abstract: The apparatus is used in a trolley conveying system for transporting various types of article, and in particular garments, between different locations. The apparatus comprises and is supported by a top load bar which has a detent plate supported therefrom by means of a yoke structure. The detent plate has a circular opening for accommodating a swivel assembly including an elongated support rod at the bottom thereof for holding articles preferably at either end thereof.

  • Patent number: 3935821
Abstract: A method, of and apparatus for, creeling bobbins into a working position on a ring spinning machine wherein rails are arranged above the ring spinning machine, these rails extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ring spinning machine. The rails accommodate trolleys movable therealong and carrying bobbins placed thereon. Connecting means serve to connect the rails to a rail arrangement leading to the ring spinning machine. In operation, the trolleys are transported onto the rails above the ring spinning machine and the full bobbins are brought into their working position.
