Belt Tightener Patents (Class 105/105)
  • Patent number: 10054200
Abstract: An assembly comprising: a fixed support such as an engine block, a plurality of pulleys mounted rotatably on the support a belt mounted on said pulleys a tensioner comprising: a plate a rotary element mounted on the plate via a rotating shaft fixed relative to said plate, the tensioner being capable of turning relative to the support, in a predefined direction of rotation, between an idle position in which the rotary element is separated from the belt and an operating position in which the rotary element is in contact with the belt, it being specified that, in the operating position, the belt exerts a force on the rotary element, the direction of said force tending to rotate the tensioner in said same predefined direction of rotation; at least one stop for preventing the tensioner from rotating in the predefined direction of rotation beyond the operating position of same, the latter thus being defined by the stop; wherein in order to rotate the tensioner relative to the support between the idle position and t

  • Patent number: 10024403
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an automatic belt tensioner for an engine which automatically adjusts the tension of a belt for transmitting rotational force between an engine and an auxiliary machinery component. The automatic belt tensioner includes: a tensioner body mounted at the engine side and having an internal space; a tension spring installed in the internal space of the tensioner body; first and second damping shoes coupled by the tension spring; a first arm having a hinge portion coupled to the first damping shoe; a second arm having a hinge portion coupled to the second damping shoe; and idlers rotatably mounted on the first and second arms, respectively, and also supporting the belt. The first hinge portion which is a rotation center of the first arm and the second hinge portion which is a rotation center of the second arm are rotatably coupled to the tensioner body.

  • Patent number: 9132841
Abstract: An apparatus that can be affixed to a standard railcar thereby converting a standard railcar into a self-propelled railcar, such self-propelled railcar having the capacity to move independently and serve as a locomotive for moving other railcars. The apparatus includes a railcar drive assembly that can be retrofitted to a railcar in such a manner that the hydraulic motor, hoses, and connectors of the drive assembly motor mechanism are positioned below the bed of the railway car and between the drive assembly housing and the railway car's wheel-and-truck assembly. This drive assembly design ensures that the drive assembly motor mechanism's hydraulic motor, hoses, and connectors are protected from general railway track debris as well as obstructions in the railroad right of way, and helps prevent unnecessary damage or the need for untimely maintenance.

  • Patent number: 5058507
Abstract: A carriage for a mobile storage system, including a frame having an inverted U-shaped cross section, including two downwardly depending sides extending the length of the frame. A drive shaft is journaled to the frame and rotated by a prime mover. A drive wheel affixed to the drive shaft rotates with it. A driven shaft, journaled to the frame and oriented parallel to the drive shaft, carries a driven wheel within the frame, for moving the carriage along the rails. A drive chain or belt is provided for transmitting power from the drive wheel, via the driven shaft, to the driven wheel. The driven shaft is journaled to the frame by means of flangette bearings, each bearing affixed to a respective offset mounting bracket. Each bracket is affixed to one of the frame sides, there being insufficient clearance between the driven wheel and the frame sides for the placement of the flangette bearings.
