Swinging Motor Patents (Class 105/106)
  • Patent number: 9877585
Abstract: Providing an overturn preventing device which can easily be mounted between a top surface of a piece of furniture and a ceiling while an axis line of a damper relative to a vertical direction is inclined at an angle ranging from 15° to 25°. The overturn preventing device includes a damper, a first base portion and a second base portion. The first base portion has a first abutting surface and a first connection. The first base portion is mounted on the top surface of the furniture. The second base portion has a second abutting surface and a second connection. The second base portion is mounted on the ceiling. A relation, X+L sin 15°?Y?X+L sin 25°, is obtained where reference symbol X designates a distance from the first abutting surface to the first connection, reference symbol L designates a length of the damper and reference symbol Y designates a distance from the second abutting surface the second connection.

  • Patent number: 6921207
Abstract: In a foil bearing (23) having a plurality of foils (26) disposed in a gap between a rotating member (12) and a stationary mount member (25), a circumferentially extending portion of each foil and a moveable member (27) rotatable with respect to the stationary mount member are provided with magnets (30, 31) so that a magnetic force between these magnets urges the foils toward the rotating member. By rotating the moveable member to vary the relative circumferential position of the moveable member with respect to the foils, it is possible to adjust an amount of magnetic force between the magnets of the moveable member and the magnets of the foils.
