  • Patent number: 9067765
Abstract: A rail for suspended conveyors and suspended cranes, having a substantially C-shaped profile head for suspending the rail and a profile body connected thereto. The profile head is open at the top, thereby forming a gap running along a longitudinal center plane bounded on both sides by first web segments extending outward from the center plane. Two second web segments opposite each other and running downward and outward as seen in cross section are connected to the first web segments and the rail is made of two profiles disposed symmetrically about the vertical longitudinal center plane as seen in cross section. The rail supports an overload protection in the region of the profile head, and allows simple attachment by suspension supports. In a particular embodiment the first web segments run diagonally outward and upward and the first web segments are angled relative to the longitudinal center plane.

  • Patent number: 8375865
Abstract: A personal transportation and freight delivery system that can be operated as a fully automated driverless land transportation system consisting of vehicles that move on their own propulsion on a pair of overhead parallel steel rails that form a single track and allows people to go anywhere the tracks can take them and delivery of freight anywhere along the tracks. Passengers and freight are transported inside a module that hangs from a propulsion dolly with in-line wheels to roll along such tracks. Electric motors are used for propulsion with power supplied at the tracks assembly; however, the system is also suited for internal combustion engines. There's no need for track switches to route vehicles to its destination as each vehicle has a steering mechanism. Rubber bumpers at each end of the propulsion dollies allow the vehicles to fit bumper-to-bumper along the tracks.

  • Patent number: 8056483
Abstract: The invention relates to a cable or pipeline trolley (2) for travelling along a carrier rail, comprising at least one chassis (1) and a carrier device (10) for cables or pipelines, in addition to a central plate (9) that connects the carrier device (10) to the chassis (1). Known cable or pipeline trolleys of this type are sensitive to high winds and are frequently derailed from the guides as a result of the large wind-exposure area. The aim of the invention is to develop a cable or pipeline trolley so that it is more operationally secure and the chassis can run more reliably along the carrier rail even when exposed to high winds or other stress. To achieve this, at least two rectangular cavities and two triangular cavities (6, 7) are positioned within the outer boundary of the central plate (9), said cavities being symmetrical in relation to the central axis of the central plate and being separated by a strut.

Abstract: A joint connector for the lower flanges of adjoining running rails is assembled from two abutment pieces that each is seated in a lower flange of a respective rail that forms the joint. By use of centering devices, the correctly aligned positioning of the two abutment pieces is assured, wherein the abutment pieces transfer their aligned positioning to the lower flanges that meet each other without offset at the joint and the positioning cannot be negatively affected by transverse forces. The connection also provides a positive-fit in a transverse direction of the rails. Another joint connector arrangement connects the two running rails in the region of the top side. Abutment pieces in this case are seated as riders on a support rib and are connected to each other by tension rods.

  • Patent number: 7966941
Abstract: An improved zip line trolley allowing a rider control of his or her speed while traversing along a suspended cable (8) as seen in FIGS. 1A and 1B. The trolley comprises front and rear pulleys (44F) and (44R) conjoined via pulley housing (16) with left and right horizontal handles (10L) and (10R) attached to vertical shaft (12). Front and rear hand brake levers (20F) and (20R) are mounted onto left and right horizontal handles (10L) and (10R). When front and rear hand brake levers (20F) and (20R) are squeezed by the rider, they create a constricting force on front left and right calipers (32FL) and (32FR) along with rear left and right calipers (32RL) and (32RR) of FIGS. 2A and 3A. Thus, friction is applied to front and rear pulleys (44F) and (44R) via front left and right brake pads (34FL) and (34FR) along with rear left and right brake pads (34RL) and (34RR).

  • Patent number: 6220176
Abstract: A travelling mechanism for travelling rail having flange parts and web parts. The mechanism including rest running wheels located opposite to each other which can rest on the flange parts. The flange sides of the rail guide rollers are arranged parallel to web rest in front of and behind each running wheel on both sides. The guide rollers, like the running wheels, are rotatably mounted in lateral bars connected below the travelling rail. The lateral bars are spaced from each other and connected to each other by a connecting traverse. To create a travelling mechanism that is adjustable, whereby the running wheels always run relatively close to the web, the travelling mechanism be adjustable to different flange widths by the use of connecting traverses of different lengths. The spacing between the axes of the guide rollers is variable independently of the running.
