Abstract: Natural oil based marking compositions and their methods of making are provided. The compositions comprise a lipid-based wax having approximately 0-90 percent by weight triacylglycerides and approximately 10-99 percent by weight monoacylglycerides and diacylglycerides combined. The compositions also comprise approximately 1-40 percent by weight of a structuring agent. The methods comprise blending the composition by heating the lipid-based wax and structuring agent at a sufficiently high temperature to destroy substantially all crystal structure within the lipid-based wax. The methods further comprise pouring the composition into a mold having a surface and a core, wherein the pouring is conducted at a temperature at least 5° C. greater than the congeal point of the lipid-based wax. The methods further comprise cooling the lipid-based wax under conditions sufficient to cool the core to at least 5° C. below the congeal point of the lipid-based wax in approximately 30-90 minutes.

Abstract: The invention provides a process for producing a crayon having a desired hardness stably without poor gelation using a benzylidene sorbitol gelling agent together with the use of carbon black as a black pigment. The process comprises: dissolving and dispersing a resin component, carbon black having a pH of less than 5.0 and an organic amine in an organic solvent, dissolving at least one gelling agent selected from the group consisting of dibenzylidene sorbitol, tribenzylidene sorbitol and derivatives thereof in the resultant under heating to prepare a raw material solution, pouring the raw material solution into a molding container, and cooling and gelling the raw material solution.

Abstract: There is provided a transparent solid marker that has high bending strength and low writing resistance as stick-formed goods, is difficult to break or bend, generates few remnants while coating is carried out, and does not cause spreading of a writing surface even if it is coated on a surface which is written on by oily or aqueous writing implements. There is provided a transparent solid marker that is obtained by heating and mixing a composition including a gel forming material that includes an alkali metal salt or ammonium salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having 8 to 36 carbon atoms, a transparency agent, a subsidiary transparency agent, hydrogenated glucose syrup, a basic pigment, and oil, and cooling it.

The solid drawing material which is in the form of a stick features a large strength, a small drawing resistance, is less subject to be collapsed or broken, produces little shavings while drawing, makes it possible to favorably form a drawing even on smooth surfaces such as windowpanes, and of which the traces after drawn can be easily wiped out with a wet cloth.

Abstract: The invention provides a crayon comprising an organic solvent, a resin soluble in the organic solvent, a coloring agent, a gelling agent and an interferential pearl luster pigment. The crayon provides a metallic or pearly coating film, and has characteristics such that the color tone of the coating film varies with an angle for viewing the coating film, namely, a visual angle for the coating film. Therefore, for example, when applied to a flaw caused in metallic or pearly coating of automobiles, the crayon is adapted to such coating of automobiles to form an integrated coating film, so that it is suitably used for repairing such a flaw.
