Abstract: Foamed well cementing compositions and methods of performing cementing operations in salt containing subterranean environments are provided. The compositions are comprised of hydraulic cement, salt water, dispersed gas and a foaming agent selected from the group consisting of surfactants of the formula R--(OR').sub.n --OSO.sub.3.sup.- X.sup.+.

Abstract: A composition for treating toxic metals in solid waste, sludge or slurry is provided. The composition includes a reducing agent such as ferrous sulfate or sodium sulfite and a fixative containing solid calcium oxide or solid magnesium oxide. The composition may also include an acid such as sulfuric acid.

Abstract: Process for making aggregate suitable for use as a road base material comprising:(a) mixing metal chlorides with alkaline substance selected from the group consisting essentially of at least one cementitious material and optionally about 0.1-50%, based on the total weight of the alkaline substance, of at least one neutralizing agent, said mixing taking place in the presence of water in the amount of about 70-200 percent, based on the total weight of the alkaline substance,(b) partially curing the product resulting from step (a), and(c) agitating the product resulting from step (b) until aggregate is formed.
