Abstract: The invention relates to a material consisting of a preparation made from a mixture of ferrocene and an inert flameproof material such as plaster, the material being presented in the form of granules and being suitable for spreading over a hydrocarbon fire in a simple and rapid manner such that, under the effect of the heat from the fire, the ferrocene contained in the granulated material is diffused progressively and homogeneously in a vapor phase over the base of the flames, so as to optimize the combustion of the hydrocarbon and to reduce the emission of smoke and unwanted particles.

Abstract: An infused sealant system for providing a sealant infused with a crystal powder and/or essential oil. The infused sealant system generally includes a composition comprised of a sealant infused with a crystal powder. The composition preferably includes one or more essential oils infused within the sealant. The composition is applied as a coating or an adhesive to an object in a liquid state and allowed to dry thereby sealing the crystal powder and/or essential oils within the sealant.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel type of noncorrosive geopolymer cement in which said cement comprises a metakaolin or a mixture of metakaolin and non-thermally activated aluminosilicate, in a weight ratio comprised between about 40:60 and about 80:20, and an alkaline silicate solution having a molar ratio M2O:SiO2 comprised between about 0.51 and 0.60, M representing Na or K, and to the use of a superplasticizer comprising a crosslinked acrylic acid polymer in the manufacture of geopolymer cement.

Abstract: A protective coating is formed on a metallic material surface by applying a treating agent comprising water, an alkali silicate, and, optionally, a lubricating component to the surface and drying the treating agent. The coating film thereby formed has excellent anti-galling and rust preventive properties. If a lubricating component is present, the coating film also has excellent self-lubricating properties.

Abstract: An aqueous fire resistance treatment composition consisting of water, sodium silicate, a calcined filler and a latent acid catalyst is disclosed. The composition may be applied to cardboard substrates such as corrugated cardboard. The composition is then cured to provide enhanced fire resistance.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to temporary corrosion resistant coatings and films upon metal substrates, e.g., metal tools and dies. The temporary coatings and films will not adversely chemically alter the surface of the underlying substrate. The coatings/films comprise a mixture of at least one of an acrylic, water, an oil, silica, at least one silicate, surfactants and optionally one or more buffering materials and waxes.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for use in temporarily protecting a paint booth surface are described which allow removal of the protective composition and undesired overspray with a low pressure stream of water. The protective composition is a mixture containing at least a hydrophobic solvent, a surfactant and a thickener.
Abstract: New alkali metal cyanide granulates based on sodium cyanide or potassium cyanide and a method for their preparation are disclosed. Commercially available alkali metal cyanide granulates consist of irregular particles; disadvantages are in particular the tendencies to form dust and to cake. The disclosed alkali metal cyanide granulates demonstrate a reduced tendency to cake and virtually no abrasion. The granulates are characterized by essentially spherical particles with particle diameters in the range 0.1 to 20 mm, a bulk density of more than 600 g/dm.sup.3, an abrasion of less than 1%, and a caking index of at most 4. The granulates can be prepared by fluidized bed spray granulation involving spraying an aqueous solution containing alkali metal cyanide onto alkali metal cyanide nuclei in a fluidized bed and evaporating the water.
