Abstract: A desk includes a base and a plurality of work surface assemblies mounted on the base. The base has a shaft and two stand connected to opposite ends of the shaft. Each of the work surface assemblies has a board and a leg having opposite ends connected to the board and the shaft of the base respectively. The shaft has a plurality of shaft sections connected in series. Whereby a user may pick a predetermined number of shaft sections in serial connection according to a number and a pattern of the work surface assemblies to be mounted on the shaft.

Abstract: A collapsible power-driven table stand includes a supporting body of an elongated shape, a first stand having a first driving member and a plurality of first extendable rods driven by the first driving member to move axially relative to each other and a second stand having a second driving member and a plurality of second extendable rods driven by the second driving member to move axially relative to each other. The first diving member is pivotally attached to one end of the supporting body and the second diving member is also pivotally attached to another end of the supporting body in order to allow both the first and second stands to extend/collapse relative to the supporting body. Abstract: The present invention is related to a desk structure. The desk structure comprises a writing surface, and a book box which is secured to the writing surface. A plurality of receiver sleeves are integrally molded with the book box. Each receiver sleeve has an outer wall and an inner wall. The inner wall of the receiver sleeve has a slot and a plurality of radially spaced ribs. The inner wall defines an opening. The desk structure further comprises a plurality of legs. Each leg has an upper leg portion. The upper leg portion of each leg is received by the inner wall opening of a corresponding receiver sleeve. Additionally, each upper leg portion includes a detent. The detent is adapted to engage a corresponding inner wall slot when the upper leg portion is received by the inner wall opening of the corresponding receiver sleeve. Thus, the detent both secures the leg to the book box and positions the upper leg portion within the opening.

Utilities can be run through the rear legs and superior connections over prior art techniques are believe to be provided with preferred embodiments. Fillet nuts are believed to useful to provide increased stability over prior art designs for retaining the table top to the legs. Furthermore, a backsplash is useful in some embodiments where a single pair of rear legs are not utilized for back to back laboratory station constructions.

After the stand is no longer needed, the parts can be disassembled and stored; and, when needed again, the interlocking parts may be retrieved from storage and reassembled to form the stand.

Abstract: A leg attachment mechanism and a method of manufacture for an article of furniture including a bracket attached to the article of furniture and an expandable post attached to the bracket. The leg includes a receptacle of sufficient dimension to receive the post. The post preferably includes a flexible wall that is movable outwardly by rotation of a threaded element, such as a set screw. A foam overmold is preferably formed over the edge of the article of furniture and the bracket. The overmold preferably includes an undercut boot that closely receives upper end of the leg.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing furniture or sculpture by cutting plies from a sheet material, laminating the plies into a beam element, and removing excess portions of the plies. Bars of similar diameters and lengths are cut. The beam elements are interconnected with other beam elements. The bars are inserted into some of the slots, grooves, cut-outs and tabulated apertures in beam elements. By orienting some of the beam elements or some of the bars to be in collinear alignment to a load acting upon the furniture, and by orienting some of the beam elements such that some of the individual plies are disposed with an edge facing forward, a structural object can be created.

Abstract: The invention relates to a furniture system, in particular a kitchen furniture system consisting of a self-supporting basic framework with tubes and/or sections connected to each other by connecting elements. In accordance with the invention the connecting element has a shaped part which is itself formed as a tube and/or substantially closed hollow section on which at least one laterally protruding projection is formed extending over the whole length of the connecting element and that the connecting elements themselves are integrated as vertical components which replace the tubes and/or sections in some parts in the basic framework.
