Patent number: 6705234Abstract: A folding table is provided having a three-sectioned platform. The table includes two pairs of pivotal supporting legs wherein pair member legs are rigidly cross braced and are held by cable braces when the leg pairs are erected. The table also includes two tensionable platform cable members and a pair of platform-to-cable load transfer bars. When the table is fully erected the platform cable members are tensioned by the load transfer bars and maintain the platform in a flat, load-bearing state. The platform's three sections are interconnected by hinges that permit in a folded table a pair of opposite end sections to overfold one another and overlie an intervening mid-section. When folded, the table has a compact, easily transported configuration with all movable and loose components being internally stored.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2000Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Inventors: Kurt Miller, David Kumarich

Patent number: 6644221Abstract: A folding sectional table assembly includes a pair of table sections, each of which includes a frame assembly and a table top. Each frame assembly includes inner and outer leg assemblies, and each leg assembly has an upper tubular member pivotably mounted at its ends relative to a pair of apron members secured to the underside of the table top, for providing pivoting movement of the leg assembly relative to the table top. A latch arrangement selectively maintains the table sections in the folded, storage position, and includes a latch member pivotably mounted to one of the table sections and a catch member stationarily mounted to the other of the table sections. A latch actuator is interconnected between the latch member and the apron members, for disengaging the latch member from the catch member when it is desired to move the table sections away from the folded, storage position.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2001Date of Patent: November 11, 2003Assignee: Krueger International, Inc.Inventor: Dennis G. Patent number: 6192809Abstract: An improved collapsible, foldable table including at least two table top sections, at least one hinge connecting the table top sections, a plurality of table legs rotatably attached to the table top sections, and a set up and rigidifying mechanism including a pair of braces, a truss member that extends from at least one of the at least two table top sections, and a central cable adapted to cause the outswinging of the plurality of table legs into an operative position when the table top sections are unfolded. Each brace includes a v-brace member, a central brace member, and a pivoting member for pivotally connecting the v-brace member to the central brace member. Preferably, the central cable extends between pivoting members of the pair of braces, a midportion of the central cable being attached to an end of the truss member.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1999Date of Patent: February 27, 2001Assignee: Oakworks, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey M. Patent number: 6164016Abstract: A folding stage includes deck connectors that are configured for engaging a bore formed in the decks. The connectors may extend outward to support bridging decks adjacent the stage. Pin-type connectors are rotatable into a retaining position are rotatable downward below the decks. The connectors may also be turned to extend beyond the edge of the stage decks or be retracted to a position below the stage deck when not used for bridging. A deck retainer includes a retaining tab portion at one end for retaining bridging decks against the stage decks as well as the lifting surface at the other end which may engage the bottom of the decks to lift the decks so that the connectors may be turned.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1997Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Assignee: Sico IncorporatedInventors: Richard C. Patent number: 6000345Abstract: A folding table for supporting a person includes an elongated tabletop comprising a pair of hinged halves. Four legs are pivotally attached to the comers of the tabletop. Four diagonal braces are each connected between the tabletop and a corresponding leg. Each diagonal brace comprises upper and lower members connected by an intermediate pivot. The legs at each end of the table are fixedly connected by a transverse brace. Four diagonal cables are each connected between the tabletop and the intermediate pivot of a corresponding diagonal brace. Four longitudinal cables are each connected between a corresponding intermediate pivot of a corresponding diagonal brace and an opposite leg. The cable arrangement provides improved rigidity and stability, and enables the legs to be folded while the tabletop is in a fully open position, so that the tabletop can be placed flat on the ground for some types of massages. The table can be fully folded by pivoting the two halves together.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1998Date of Patent: December 14, 1999Inventor: Michael Gillotti
