Abstract: A holder system for supporting and accommodating a laptop computer or other device comprises —an extendable/retractable carrier system provided with frame portion means for attachment to a tabletop; —a holder and support member for holding and/or accommodating and/or supporting a laptop computer or other device, and —pivot means pivotally connecting said carrier system and said holder and support member, whereby the holder and support member can be brought from a substantially vertical orientation to a substantially horizontal orientation when the carrier system is in its extended or drawn out position. The holder system according to the invention is provided with a pull handle and associated rod system enabling locking of the holder and support member in the horizontal position by releasable engagement between a distal end portion of the rod system and corresponding engagement means provided on said frame portion means of the holder system.

Abstract: A tabletop unit to base attachment system of a medical/surgical system includes a top half and a bottom half. The top half includes a non-rotating post assembly surrounded by a captive internally threaded nut. The bottom half includes a receiver socket surrounded by external threads. Engagement of the internally threaded portion of the nut with the external threads on the receiver socket secures the top half and bottom half together, thereby mounting the tabletop unit to the base.

Abstract: A portable, ergonomic work structure for designing and viewing scrapbook layouts. The desktop device includes a tabletop that contains magnets to which a layout mat may be removably attached. The layout mat is preferably a ferromagnetic sheet on which a scrapbook layout can be held in place by removable magnets. The tabletop preferably includes a foldable support to allow the layout to be viewed at an angle and to reduce the desktop table's footprint on the working surface. In order for the layout mat to be held securely to the tabletop while in use, the surface of the magnets in contact with the layout mat are raised slightly above the tabletop surface.

Abstract: A farrier training system includes an artificial leg portion attached to an artificial hoof portion. The hoof portion is removably attached to the lower end of the leg portion. The leg is articulated with at least one spring-loaded joint to simulate a real horse's leg and train the farrier in proper shoeing techniques. The removable hoof portion is replaceable with hoof portions exhibiting typical hoof diseases and abnormalities. The hoof portion is carvable and indicates through color changes when the hoof portion has been carved too deeply. The hoof portion is also nailable and includes the ability to indicate when nails have been inserted too deeply. Horseshoe stock is provided along with tools for forming the stock into horseshoes fitted to the removable hoof portion. A support platform is provided to allow the upper end of the leg portion to be removably attached to a fixture, building or ground surface.

Abstract: An article of furniture comprises a support assembly including an elongate cross-member, a first end panel having a top edge and an interlocking slot for engagement with an interlocking slot at one end of the cross-member, a second end panel having a top edge and an interlocking slot for engagement with the interlocking slot at the other end of the cross-member, and an intermediate support member having a pair of top edges and an interlocking slot for engagement with an interlocking slot at an intermediate portion of the cross-member. A tabletop panel is supported on the top edges of the end panels and the intermediate support. The article of furniture includes a magazine holder comprising an opening formed in the table top over an intersection point, the intersection point corresponding to a base for supporting magazines inserted through the opening.

Abstract: An improved portable work bench includes a beam, legs for supporting the beam, a bracket for supporting at least one of an accessory and a power tool, and a handle assembly connected to the beam. The handle assembly is movable between a retracted position near the beam and an extended position away from the beam.

Abstract: One aspect of the invention is a card table having a plurality of indented portions around the periphery. The plurality of indented portions may allow a person sitting at the table to be closer to the center of the table that if the periphery did not have the indented portions.

Abstract: A hot press for coating work pieces on their upper surfaces and lateral surfaces with a film as well as a work table therefor. The hot press includes a press table with a heating plate in the lower frame, displaceable in reference to the press table, having an upper frame, connections for pressurizing and/or evacuating the volumes circumscribed by the upper and lower frames, as well as at least one work piece carrier for supporting a work piece to be coated. A mold frame is provided in the lower frame at least partially encompassing the work piece carrier, which forms the edge of an area that is curved at least partially convexly or essentially cylindrically.

Abstract: Provided herein is an item holder assembly that includes an attachment mechanism for attaching the assembly to an object such as a laptop computer, an item support or holder, and a member for connecting the attachment mechanism to the item holder or support.

Abstract: The disposable utensil rest includes a base plate having an upper surface and a lower surface, and a raised peripheral rim formed on the upper surface of the base plate. In use, the head of a cooking utensil may be positioned against the upper surface of the base plate with a handle portion of the cooking utensil being supported on the raised peripheral rim to protect a surface upon which the disposable utensil rest is mounted. The base plate and the raised peripheral rim are formed from a disposable material, allowing the disposable utensil rest to be disposed of after use. A dispenser dispensing a utensil rest from a stack of disposable utensil rests may be provided.

Abstract: An optical table comprising an upper skin tapped with holes for mounting equipment, a lower skin with a plurality of through holes which is coaxial with the tapped holes on the upper skin in a one to one arrangement, a honeycomb core, a connecting side wall, and a number of tubes. The tubes are positioned between the interior of the upper and lower skins so as to connect the holes on both skins so that contaminants and residue will be unable to enter into the interior of the honeycomb core, and so that the optical table can be rapidly and thoroughly cleaned.

The interface profile includes a plurality of interconnected curved surfaces formed along the entire outer edge of the patient support member for selective attachment to a range of medical accessory devices. The support interface includes a non-planar first connection area (72) having a recess (82) and a curved lip area (90) adapted to engage correspondingly formed surfaces (122, 126) on a medical accessory connector (110, 140). A second connection area (76) of the support interface (70) includes a planar locating surface (100) formed at an angle oblique with the top surface (74) of the patient support member. Engagement with the locating surface by corresponding surfaces formed on the medical accessory connectors (110, 140) generate a downward force that causes an increase in the engagement forces between the recess and lip areas of the interface and corresponding surfaces on the accessory connectors.

The clamping apparatus includes an upper jaw member which has a downwardly projecting lip formed to conformably engage a section of the top recess. A lower jaw member is also included and has a hook region formed to surroundingly engage a section of the flared lower edge. The upper and lower jaw members are joined.

Abstract: The present invention provides a workstation (1) suitable for acting as a desk or a drawing table for at least one seated user, the workstation comprising a structure (2) supported by a stand (3) so as to be capable of pivoting about a horizontal pivot axis (X), and a window (6) defining a display zone for one or more screens (5) and/or one or more image projector devices disposed beneath the window, said screen(s) and/or said projector device(s) being carried by the structure, each screen and/or each projector device being fixed relative to the portion of the window covering it. The workstation is arranged in such a manner as to enable a seated user to place the legs beneath the structure, at least when the window is horizontal.

There is also described a method of displaying merchandise and also a kit comprising a support assembly (2), one or more spacer bars (4), a hoarding (8) provided with a display aperture (9, 10) and one or more merchandise display trays (13).

Abstract: A laundry center has a plurality of grooved vertical posts connecting together a top storage shelf and a middle snake wire frame. Plural sorting sacks are attached to the middle snake wire frame by ties. A height-adjustable, downwardly foldable ironing board is secured to two of the grooved vertical posts. Because the ironing board must be pulled up to be used, no one is injured when the ironing board is disengaged from its stored position.

Abstract: A computer keyboard/mouse support apparatus including a keyboard support having three layers which are rigidly sandwiched together is disclosed. The top layer is for supporting a keyboard while the bottom layer is for attachment to a keyboard arm. The center layer has a surface area which is substantially less than that of the top and bottom layers so that it defines a gap in which left and right mouse extensions pivot between extended usable positions and retracted stored positions. In their extended usable positions, the front edges of the keyboard support and the mouse extensions are flush with each other and define an ergonomic curve. The top surface of each mouse extension also preferably frictionally engages the underside surface of the keyboard support so that the extensions are not easily moved by the user when moving a mouse supported on the surface of the extension.

At least one article-receiving track (28) is inset into the top of tabletop (22). A brace (36) is disposed beneath the tabletop (22) and connected to the track (28) so that the track (28) will not separate from the tabletop (22) under high acceleration loads such as from a seismic event.

Abstract: A support device that attaches to a vertical pole so that objects can be supported along the length of a vertical pole. The support device includes a platform that has a midpoint and a peripheral edge. The platform defines a slot that extends from the peripheral edge to the midpoint, wherein the slot has a width at least as wide as the vertical pole onto which the platform attaches. A clamp element is selectively positionable within the slot. A bias mechanism is provided for biasing the clamp element into the slot toward the midpoint of the platform. A napkin holding mechanism is also provided. The napkin holding mechanism extends below the platform and holds napkins in a manner that enables single napkins to be readily removed as needed.

Abstract: A keyboard support arrangement which includes both a main support pad for a keyboard, and an auxiliary support pad for a mouse. The auxiliary support pad is removably and multiply positionable on and relative to the main support pad to provide increased convenience and flexibility of use with respect to the mouse support pad. The auxiliary pad is totally separable from the main pad, and a releasable and multi-positional connecting structure is provided for permitting the auxiliary pad to be mounted directly on the main pad adjacent either side edge thereof. The connecting structure also enables the auxiliary pad to be positioned relative to the main pad at one of many different angular relationships.

Abstract: A clamp assembly for attachment of a scaffolding to an exposed structural beam or a vertical post comprising an L-shaped bracket piece and a scaffolding support clamp. The later piece is attached to an exposed vertical structural support by a screw threaded bolt, while the L-shaped bracket piece is attached to the scaffold or a support for a scaffold by any conventional fastener such as screws or nails or both. The clamp is equipped with a plate which can rotate through small angles to allow the scaffold to be erected in a perfectly horizontal orientation.

Abstract: In order to provide an anti-earthquake holding rod or anti-earthquake furniture such as a table and desk having the anti-earthquake holding rod fixed thereto capable of preventing a person escaped under a table or desk during an earthquake from being thrown out of its location and further capable of increasing the strength of the table or desk, the anti-earthquake holding rod is constructed by a support, a plurality of fixing members constructed to be fixed to a lower part of a top plate of a table or desk arranged at the upper part of the support in the radial direction, and an adjusting supporting member fixed movably in the axial direction to the lower part of the support. It is satisfactory to fix the fixing members to the lower surface of the top plate of the desk or the table through a fixing disk or threadedly engage the adjusting supporting member with the lower part of the support as to move axially.

Abstract: A bookshelf has a longitudinally extending slot formed therein. At least one book support member is movably mounted on a top surface of the bookshelf. A lock assembly is carried in the book support member and has a first actuator extending externally from one end of the book support member to facilitate rotation of the lock assembly, and a second opposed end movably disposed within the slot in a shelf. Rotation of the actuator effects rotation of a drive rod connected to the actuator at one end and to a nut at an opposite end. Outwardly extending legs on the nut are engagable with the shelf to fixedly lock the bookend to the shelf. Rotation of the actuator in an opposite direction releases the legs from engagement with the shelf to enable selective repositioning of the bookend along the shelf.

Abstract: A food, beverage, bidding box and convention card holding system for mounting on a card table having a card table leg assembly. The system includes a platform for holding beverages and food, a holder for cards used to make bids in the game called contract bridge ("bridge"), a holder for the convention card used in the bidding process in bridge, and a mounting leg that attaches to the bottom of the platform and mounts to the table leg using spring-loaded clamps for easy mounting and removal from the card table. The spring-loaded clamps allow the apparatus to be independently supporting, without regard to the configuration of the card table or the table leg brace or strut.

Abstract: A honeycomb tabletop, including a honeycomb core positioned between a top and bottom structural layer, wherein a number of cups are positioned between the bottom layer and the top layer, and at least some of the number of cups are sized and shaped to cooperate with the lower face of the top layer to form a cavity surrounding at least two of the plurality of holes in the top layer so that contaminants will be unable to pass through the surrounded holes into the honeycomb core. Preferably, these cups form a sealing engagement with the lower face of the top layer to facilitate rapid and thorough cleaning of contaminants from the cups.

Abstract: A bookshelf has a guideway formed longitudinally therein. A channel structure is attached to the shelf within the guideway and includes at least one row of spaced, open-ended apertures. A base is connected to a planar book support member and has a movable lock bar extending therethrough. A cross bar is attached to a second end of the lock bar and is urged by a biasing spring engaging the second end of the lock bar to a first position in which the cross bar is securely engaged in one of the apertures in the channel structure to lock the base and the attached book support member in a selected position along the length of the shelf. One and preferably two identically constructed bases and attached book support members, each having a lock bar mounted in each base, are adjustably and lockingly positioned on the shelf.

Abstract: A removably mountable front to be mounted on a display unit. This mountable front comprises at least two sides joining each other at an acute angle as to form therebetween, a V-shaped removably mountable front. One of the sides is releasably attachable onto a display unit. Many embodiments are disclosed. One has a pair of rectangular-triangularly shaped sidewalls, a large wall, a front wall and a smallest wall. The hypotenuse of the sidewalls define the edge for receiving the front wall of the mountable front. The large size of said triangularly shaped sidewalls defines the edges common to the large wall. The small side of the triangularly shaped sidewalls defines the edges common to the smallest wall of mountable front. Coupling intermediates are also disclosed for rotatably mounting a removably mountable front to a display unit.

Abstract: The present invention is a portable keyboard support for use in connection with a pre-existing work surface. The keyboard support comprises a generally flat sheet of material having a rear portion adapted to lie on top of the work surface and a forward portion adapted to extend forwardly from a front edge of the work surface in cantilever fashion. A computer and/or display rests on top of the rear portion and the weight of the computer and/or display holds the keyboard support in place. The keyboard rests on the forward portion and is preferably placed directly in front of the display. The forward portion also includes an integrally formed wing section that extends laterally from one side of the keyboard support. The wing section provides an auxiliary work surface which may be used, for instance, as a mouse pad.

Abstract: An accessory track apparatus have a track disposed at a peripheral region of a top plate supporting a piece of equipment such as a personal computer. One or more accessory holders are inserted into the track by way of an octagonal anchor plate on the holders, which anchor plate allows insertion and removal of the holders at corners of the track. A space or cavity between the top support plate and track allows for 360.degree. routing of electrical wiring of up to several feet in length.

Abstract: A garden bench board made of a plastic material, particularly of recyclable plastic material, having a reinforcement which is embedded into the plastic material to prevent bending, includes one deformable zone respectively provided preferably at the longitudinal-side ends of the reinforcement so that a warping of the garden bench board or a tearing-apart of the sheathing is reliably avoided.

Abstract: The present invention is a portable keyboard support for use in connection with a pre-existing work surface. The keyboard support comprises a generally flat sheet of material having a rear portion adapted to lie on top of the work surface and a forward portion adapted to extend forwardly from a front edge of the work surface in cantilever fashion. A computer and/or display rests on top of the rear portion and the weight of the computer and/or display holds the keyboard support in place. The keyboard rests on the forward portion and is preferably placed directly in front of the display. The forward portion also includes an integrally formed wing section that extends laterally from one side of the keyboard support. The wing section provides an auxiliary work surface which may be used, for instance, as a mouse pad.

Abstract: An apparatus including a central planar table plate, with a first and second wing plate member pivotally mounted at each end of the saw table plate, wherein each wing plate includes an outwardly extending plurality of tubes directed therefrom, wherein each of the tubes telescoping receives a leg of a "U" shaped member therewithin secured to the tubes by collets mounted at free ends of the tubes spaced from each of the wings. The tubes include a cross brace spaced rearwardly of the collet, with a sleeve pivotally mounted about each of the cross braces. The sleeve includes a leg telescopingly received within an underlying tube member. The underlying tube member of each leg is pivotally mounted to a framework, wherein the framework is arranged parallel and underlying the plate member mounted to legs extending downwardly from the plate member.

Abstract: A miter saw utility stand having a saw table top upon which the miter saw is to be mounted. Located in a plane extending above the saw table top and parallel to the saw table top surface are a pair of wings which extend longitudinally and are used to support the workpiece to be cut. Each wing has an upstanding fence along one edge to enable the user to securely brace the workpiece to be cut. In one embodiment, the structure supporting the wings precludes the wings from being moved into overlying relation to the table surface. In another embodiment, the wings can be adjusted laterally inwardly of the table top surface into abutting engagement with the wings and the support structure therefor being constructed to enable vertical and horizontal adjustment of the wings, removal of the wings and addition of similar wings to extend the workpiece supporting surface.

Abstract: A corner work center includes a mounting unit for a computer and like equipment which quickly attaches to two adjoining surfaces at the same height. The unit eliminates the need for an expensive and complex intermediate or third top and the requisite hardware. The unit includes an elevated plate mounted on the frame and a forward tray or bridging surface which is captured by the frame and extends forwardly of the frame at a lower elevation and bridges the included angle between the adjoining surfaces. The unit may also include an articulating arm assembly having a positionable keyboard tray which may be positioned beneath and forwardly of the forward tray. With the arm assembly the keyboard tray can be extended for use or retracted when not in use. The tray includes handles and adjustable bumpers. The unit also includes one or more swing arm supports secured to the frame to position computer components or accessories at desired locations for effective use.

Abstract: A video system incorporated into the back of a typical passenger seat, as on an airplane, bus, etc. The system includes a TV screen disposed normally in an upright position and recessed at least in part in the usual recess in a seat back. The arm rest of the seat next rearwardly carries various controls by means of which several modes of TV operation are available, along with the playing of music, commentaries and the like via cassettes in the arm rest, a master array of cassettes located centrally in the aircraft, disk drives, and improved power supply.

Abstract: A work table having a pedestal and a table top supported on the pedestal and adapted to support organizational walls, shelves, electrical devices, computers, and telephones, without limiting the work surface of the table or requiring that the work table be placed on a wall. The work table has in a rear region and below the table top a multifunction rail which extends the entire width of the table and is fixedly supported on the pedestal of the table. The multifunction rail is freely accessible from the rear of the table and can support devices which in turn support visible and organizational walls, shelves for additional items, files, lights, and so forth.

Abstract: A computer work station is described in which a work table has a transparent generally horizontal work surface, a keyboard rested upon this table, and a CRT. To make the work station more usable, the CRT is movably suspended beneath the transparent work surface so that the screen of the CRT is visible therethrough. The CRT is preferably mounted for side to side, forward and back, swingable and rotational motion so as to be movable to a variety of positions and angles beneath the transparent work surface whereby its display will be conveniently visible on many portions of the table desired by the worker.

Abstract: A stand is designed for holding a computer printer and in particular mounts the printer at right angles to conventional practice so that the platen of the printer runs front to back on the stand rather than side to side. Such an arrangement allows easier access to the printer. The stand is provided with a shelf below the top surface for storage of paper which is to be printed, and provision is made for a slot in one or both side walls to feed the paper upwardly and outwardly into the printer. Each of the two side walls is generally planar and imperforate with the exception of the slots for the aforementioned paper feed. A basket may also be provided for reception of the paper after printing.

Abstract: A video console for passenger vehicles having a video display integrally formed as a table positioned within a recess of an adjacent passenger seat forwardly disposed of the intended user, rotated from a stored to an access position, the video display table having separable top and bottom surfaces providing access to an interior with instrumentalities disposed therein for providing amusement and educative benefits.

Abstract: A worktable for use in automobile body shops. The table has removable sideboards which are adapted to extend upwardly from the side edge of the table, with the sideboards being positioned substantially coplanar with a plane adjacent to the side of the table and substantially normal to the top surface of the table. The sideboards are used to support various automobile body parts, such as fenders and grilles, in an elevated easily accessible and workable position. The sideboards are removable so that the top of the table can be used to support other parts of the automobile body, such as the hood, trunk deck, window glass, etc. A pair of cushion bolsters can be provided for supporting windshields and bumpers to prevent scratching or otherwise damaging the surface of such articles. Dispensers can be also be included in the work-table for dispensing sanding discs and masking paper.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus useful by at least one human being for holding tools and various other implements. The apparatus includes first and second holding units defining, respectively, a first space for holding tools and a second space for holding other implements; first and second supports associated with the first and second holding units, respectively; and a platform unit associated with both holding units, capable of being supported by both supports and including at least one substantially flat surface capable of supporting the weight of the human being.

Abstract: A tubular member 10 has another tubular member 12 slidable therein, and an insert 20 for locating the member 12 inside the member 10. A flange 14 on the member 12 carries a work top 16 of a work bench. The insert 20 prevents movement of the lower end of the member 12 in relation to the member 10, and so makes the whole structure rigid. The member 12 supports equipment such as a light 24.

Abstract: A utility shelf has a body which is provided with an enclosed storage well so that articles, such as combs and brushes, may be stored in the storage well in an upright position. The storage well is formed from a hinged panel which can be pivoted out of the body of the shelf, so that the entire back of the shelf is open to permit another identical shelf to be nested within it. The shelf is also provided with a gripping device for releasably gripping articles, such as towels.

Abstract: A support rack for ties, belts and the like for use in clothes closets and to be supported under a closet shelf. The rack has alternate forward ends selectively used to engage a shelf rim or support pole, and a rearward end to be supported at a closet wall. The rack is adjustably extensible to fit shelves of varying widths. The rack is designed to be formed of sheet metal easily assembled and adjusted to installation.
