Patent number: 5617798Abstract: An all-purpose reusable adjustable cake support capable of being easily and thoroughly cleaned. A shaft is inserted into a mated hollow tube to form an adjustable pole. The shaft has perpendicular fins in spaced relation along the length of the shaft. The fins form a series of parallel slots running transversely to the lengthwise axis of the shaft. Each fin has a groove such that the aligned grooves form a channel that runs the length of the shaft. A knob-like projection integral with the tube extends into the interior of the tube. The shaft is inserted into the tube to the desired depth by aligning the channel with the knob-like projection. To lock the shaft in place at a desired pole length, the shaft is rotated so that the groove and projection are misaligned, such that the fins catch on the projection.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1995Date of Patent: April 8, 1997Inventor: April J. Patent number: 5570795Abstract: A display stand includes multiple support surfaces which can be configured to lie in a single plane to form a table top or in vertically spaced planes to form a multi-tiered display stand. The display stand includes a center section and one or more extensions which substantially surround the center section. The center section is supported by legs which are pivotally attached to the center section. The extensions include locking members disposed along an inner edge thereof for releasably engaging the outer edge of the center section or an adjacent inner extension. When the center section and extensions are locked together, they lie in a common plane to form a table top. When the extensions are disengaged from the center section and each other, the extensions can be lowered so as to rest on the legs in a vertically spaced relationship to one another. The height of the display stand can be adjusted by pivoting the legs inwardly and outwardly relative to the vertical axis of the display stand.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1994Date of Patent: November 5, 1996Inventor: Mark Colgrove
