Abstract: A planter has the seed box and seed dispensing mechanism supported by a tool bar which is supported by tool bar gage wheels and a tractor. A plow moves loose, dry dirt from the seed bed. The plow, opening plow, and covering mechanism are drawn as a unit from the tool bar by a parallel motion linkage. The plow, opening plow, and covering mechanism unit for each row is supported by a planter gage wheel running in front of the plow.
Abstract: A front foldable farm implement and hopper-feeding auger comprising an elongated hopper-supporting frame in three separable sections in end-to-end relation. A drawbar is secured to and transversely extends from the central portion of the intermediate section. First means pivotally connects the opposite ends of this central portion to the adjacent ends of the outboard sections, respectively, whereby the outboard sections may be pivoted between a first position in which the three sections are aligned and a second position in which the outboard sections are generally parallel to the drawbar. A plurality of hoppers is carried by the sections. An elongated tubular conveyor in two separable length portions is carried by the two outboard sections, respectively, these length portions being disposed above and in feeding registry with the hoppers. Further, the conveyor extends parallel to the frame sections when the outboard sections are in the first position.
Abstract: A seeding device which comprises an attachment that can be placed onto existing tillage implements such as field cultivators and utilizes an air distribution system which permits the transfer of a metered amount of seed into individual air carrying lines, wherein each of said lines deposits seeds immediately behind each shovel or furrow opener on the tillage implement to provide an accurate, and large scale seeding device.
Abstract: A forwardly foldable agricultural planter includes a hitch shiftable as wing sectons are moved between transport and operational configurations. Rigid link tow bars pivot about centrally positioned pivots permitting the hitch to be horizontally shifted between transport and operational positions to thereby realize positive drawn implement control in both configurations. A telescoping drawbar provides further implement support and control and either manual or automatic latching mechanisms can be provided to secure the folded wing sections in position.
Abstract: A pull type folding grain drill driven by the gauge wheels including pivoting legs carrying the gauge wheels which drive a clutch shaft through a first chain and sprocket drive, the clutch shaft axis being offset from the pivoting leg axis. A second chain and sprocket drive between the dispensing seed shaft and the clutch shaft including an idler pulley having cam means on the end thereof for disengaging a clutch on the clutch shaft when the pivoting legs are rotated to lift the planter out of the ground in the transport position.
