Non-planar Uniform-thickness Material Patents (Class 112/422)
  • Patent number: 8444792
Abstract: Method of manufacturing aerogenerator blades that avoids or reduces some formation deficiencies existing in the traditional methods of manufacturing aerogenerator blades. The method comprises: positioning at least one support plate (2) on a plug (3) corresponding to a predetermined shape of at least a portion of the blade; removably fixing the support plate (2) to the plug (3); stacking a plurality of layers (1) of at least one material over the support plate (2); stitching the plurality of layers (1) to the support plate (2); displacing the plurality of layers (1) stitched to the support plate (2) into a mold (4), the mold (4) having a shape corresponding to the counter shape of the plug (3).

  • Patent number: 8062727
Abstract: The invention relates to a covered panel for a motor vehicle having a rigid substrate, a skin, and a layer of material connecting the skin to the rigid substrate, in which the skin is constituted of one first and one second skin section including a visual characteristic at the line where the two respective edges of the first and second section of the skin are joined. The panel is characterized in that the edge of the first section of skin extends beyond the visual characteristic, under the second section of skin, and in that the skin is provided, in the area of that visual characteristic with at least one line of decorative seams or stitching connecting the first and second sections of skin together. The invention also relates to a process to manufacture the type of panel.

  • Publication number: 20110030597
Abstract: A flat seam construction made up of a number of sequentially formed stitches and formed on a portion of one or more stitchable materials is disclosed. Each stitch has two outer threads, formed into first and second outer thread loops, and at least one inner thread, formed into at least one inner thread loop. Each of the inner and outer thread loops transversely penetrate the one or more stitchable materials. Each of the inner and outer thread loops have a bight portion engaging a bottom surface of the one or more stitchable materials. At least one looper thread is formed on the bottom surface, and arranged such that, the at least one looper thread passes between the bottom surface and at least one of the bight portions. At least one decorative thread is visible on a top surface of the seam construction. The at least one decorative thread loops around at least said first outer thread loop at a penetration point thereof.

  • Patent number: 5008141
Abstract: A cushioning material for mattresses is formed by needling a pile of crimped fibers to form a flat board, and then continuously and alternately bending the flat board to form a corrugated web. The corrugated web thus formed has a number of side-by-side contact portions and a number of bent portions connecting the side-by-side contact portions. The bent portions thus form a relatively soft surface portion of the cushioning material, and the side-by-side contact portions provide a moderately rigid portion of the cushioning material. The corrugated web may be held together by sewing, bonding or welding.
