Including Fine Adjustment Of Stitch Width Patents (Class 112/464)
  • Patent number: 7367274
Abstract: A darning width adjusting device for a sewing machine includes a lower knife holder supported by a sewing machine frame such that a moving position of the lower knife holder is adjustable in a direction orthogonal to a cloth feeding direction, a thread-sliding piece which sets a darning width by picking up a thread at a tip thereof in the vicinity of a stitch point, a thread-sliding piece holder supported by the sewing machine frame such that a moving position of the thread-sliding piece is adjustable in the orthogonal direction to the cloth feeding direction, a thread-sliding piece adjusting means for adjusting the moving position of the thread-sliding piece, and a lower knife holder adjusting means for adjusting the moving position of the lower knife holder to a position exceeding a outside marginal position of the thread-sliding piece.

  • Patent number: 6065411
Abstract: An amplitude adjusting device in connection with a sewing machine having an amplitude generating mechanism including a pattern cam and a cam follower which has a central swinging axis around cam follower which is swingable in accordance with the configuration of the pattern cam, wherein the amplitude adjusting device comprises an adjusting lever having a central axis around which the adjusting lever is swingable, the adjusting lever having one end operatively connected to one end of a transmission rod which has the opposite end connected to a swingable needle bar holder. The adjusting lever has the opposite end operatively connected to an operating knob and is normally urged in one direction so that said one end of the transmission rod is normally urged to a position substantially corresponding to the swinging axis of the cam follower.

  • Patent number: 5243923
Abstract: A mechanical, cam disk controlled zigzag sewing machine which provides an infinite zigzag adjustment device whereby a cam follower lifter restricts the zigzag width. The adjusting device returns to its initial position each time the cam follower lifter is actuated, i.e. when a new stitch pattern is selected. The adjustment device has the shape of a gradually rising cam profile and actuates a slide (31) which, by means of a finger (51), extends into the path of movement of the cam follower (48) in order to restrict the same with the result that the lateral movement of the needle is restricted in one direction.

  • Patent number: 4641593
Abstract: A sewing machine provides zigzag and feed drive features through operation of independent synchronized stepper motors. A first stepper motor imparts reciprocating motion to a first rack piece which is hingedly connected to a middle piece and a lever. The lever is connected to a needle supporting piece which imparts zigzag motion to a needle. A second stepper motor through a second rack piece imparts oscillating motion to a connecting rod. Shifting motion in a feeding device is provided by an axle which is powered by the oscillating connecting rod.

  • Patent number: 4569299
Abstract: A connecting link for setting stitch width or length is fashioned as a flat metal piece and is retained on the bearing side in a molded-on synthetic resin bearing head. The bearing head is suspended by means of two trunnions on a bearing bracket and on an index lever attached to the bearing bracket. The sliding block is constituted by a sliding sleeve made of a synthetic resin, encompassing the connecting link and articulated by way of two trunnions to the linkage leading to the needle bar frame.
