Abstract: A subcutaneous delivery mechanism for a drug delivery device (1), comprising a needle (10), a needle holder (12) holding the needle (10), and a needle actuation mechanism (20) configured to actuate in translation the needle holder (12) to move the needle (10) from a retracted position to an extended delivery position. The needle actuation mechanism (20) comprises a first lever (30) pivotally mounted on a first support member (33) and a rotary actuator (22) rotatably mounted on a second support member (43). The first lever (30) is configured to engage the rotary actuator (22). The needle actuation mechanism (20) also comprises a second lever (40) pivotally mounted on the second support member (43) or around a circumferential outer rim (24) of the rotary actuator (22). The first and second levers (30, 40) are coupled to each other such that rotation of the first lever (30) causes rotation of the second lever (40).
Abstract: A method of anchoring a prosthesis includes deploying the prosthesis in a vessel. A delivery system including an anchor constrained within a delivery sheath is advanced to the prosthesis. The prosthesis and a vessel wall of the vessel are penetrated with a leading tip of an exterior tine of the anchor, wherein the exterior tine unfolds upon passing through the prosthesis and the vessel wall. An interior tine is deployed within the prosthesis and vessel wall. In the final deployed state, the exterior tine is exterior to and adjacent the vessel wall, the interior tine is interior to and adjacent the prosthesis, and a tine connector of the anchor extends through the vessel wall and the prosthesis.

Abstract: A needle assembly for use in carpeting includes a handle having a first longitudinal axis running from a forward end to a rear end, a shaft section running along the first longitudinal axis with a first portion having a first outer diameter and a second portion, where the second portion has a second outer diameter representing a maximal outer diameter of the second portion, and the second outer diameter is less than the first outer diameter, a first bore a first maximal diameter and a front-end opening. The needle assembly includes a needle having a shank with a second maximal diameter permitting insertion of the shank in the first bore. The needle includes a blade disposed between the shank and the front end, and a tip section disposed between the blade and the front end, having a transverse opening, and terminating with a pointed tip.
Abstract: The invention concerns an improved tufting machine which comprises a tufting head translatable within said tufting machine in X- and Y-directions with respect to backing fabric by means of a movement system. The tufting head comprises a tufting mechanism having a cyclic mode of operation, a hollow needle mounted in the tufting mechanism that is moveable relative to a cooperating foot in a reciprocating manner to insert a tuft of yarn into backing fabric in each cycle, a yarn supply mechanism mounted in the tufting mechanism and operable to supply a length of yarn to the hollow needle in each cycle, a yarn cutter mounted in the tufting head that is selectively operable to cut the length of yarn in selected cycles to produce loop or cut pile, and a computer-operated motion control system.
