Fabric Shifting Patents (Class 112/86)
  • Patent number: 4834006
Abstract: An embroidery frame supporting device includes a frame member having either a fixing screw or a ferromagnetic plate, a driving mechanism for travelling in a two dimensional plane, a carriage member for supporting the frame members and for transmitting the movement of the driving mechanism to the frame member, a yoke member fixed to the carriage member, a magnetic member fixed to the yoke member, and a recess provided on the carriage member and engaging with the fixing screw. When a large or heavy frame member is fixed to the carriage member, the fixing screw is inserted into the recess. Thus, the large frame member is fixed to the carriage member with a suitable supporting force. Further, when a small frame member is fixed to the carriage member, the small or light frame member is attracted by the magnetic force of the magnet member. Thus, the small frame member is fixed to the carriage member with suitable supporting force.

  • Patent number: 4622907
Abstract: An embroidery machine comprising: stitch forming means to form stitches on a fabric; fabric holding means to hold the fabric; driving means to regulate the relative position between the fabric holding means and the stitch forming means; pattern determining means having a display unit for two-dimensionally displaying a pattern and an input unit for feeding data of a pattern to be displayed on the display unit; and control means to control the operation of the driving means in accordance with a pattern produced by the pattern determining means and to control the operation of the stitch forming means in synchronism with the action of the driving means.

  • Patent number: 4280420
Abstract: An embroidery sewing machine is provided for automatically driving an embroidery frame along X and Y axes. The bed of the machine is provided with a pair of parallel slots extending parallel to the X axis. A pair of carriages extend through said slots and the opposite ends of a single Y-axis guide rod which extends parallel to the Y-axis are secured to said carriages. A traveller is movably guided along the guide rod and one of said carriages is movably guided along a similar X-axis guide rod mounted below the bed. A pair of servo motors each having a drive roller are disposed under the bed and the carriages and traveller are each provided with a plurality of rollers. Wires extend around the rollers and rotation of one of the servo motors drives the carriages upon which the Y-axis guide rod is mounted along the X-axis guide rod. The rotation of the other servo motor causes the traveller to be driven in the Y-axis direction along the Y-axis guide rod.

  • Patent number: 4208975
Abstract: A multi-embroidery machine with a common carrier for the individual embroidery frames, the carrier being mounted moveably in the longitudinal axis of the embroidery machine as well as perpendicularly thereto and being adjustable by a pantograph drive; displacement movements of the pantograph drive, which are executed by a pantograph bar (which bar extends parallel to the carrier behind the sewing heads), are transmitted to the embroidery frame carrier by connection struts. For the longitudinal movement of the embroidery frames as well as for the transverse movement, one data carrier-controlled drive each is provided, which data carrier-controlled drives are controlled directly by the pantograph drive, and the displacement movements of the drives are fed to the pantograph bar.

  • Patent number: 4054098
Abstract: Embroidering machine with a needle drive mechanism for color changeover, where each of a number of embroidering stations has a number of needles, one needle rod being working, i.e., engageable by a drive bar, all others being non-working and retained by a retaining bar, which also deflects the latch levers of these needle rods and which has a gap in the working plane for the working needle rod. In that gap is also arranged a solenoid controlled pivotable control pawl which, in its normal position, does not touch the working needle rod, and which, in its actuated position, bridges the gap of the retaining bar, thereby retaining the working needle and disengaging its latch lever from the drive bar. The needle bar, which carries all the needle rods, can then shift the needle rods into and out of the retaining bar gap.

  • Patent number: 4052945
Abstract: A pattern control mechanism for embroidering machines of the type which use punched tape and a gear-type analog computer with input cam slides for the generation of pattern movements in a large number of different magnitudes, the improvement relating to the cam slide driving mechanism, where pivotable horizontal slide pushers which are attached to the cam slides are selected vertically by transversely moving selector bars whose position is determined by feeler needles of the punched tape sensing device, and where the raised non-selected slide pushers remain back, while the lowered selected ones are engaged by a reciprocating pusher drive bar. The selector bars, which execute a vertical approach motion, have selector teeth which prevent the simultaneous drive engagement of both cam slides.

  • Patent number: 3991691
Abstract: Stepping mechanisms are used to move an embroidering frame in both the vertical and horizontal directions on a machine frame. Each stepping mechanism includes a hydraulic cylinder-piston rod assembly, a multi-way valve for directing the flow of hydraulic fluid to the assembly, and an electric stepping motor connected to the valve for regulating the flow to the assembly. To effect movement a signal is transmitted to the stepping motor which positions the valve to operate the hydraulic cylinder-piston rod assembly. The piston rod is in direct contact with the frame and its movement provides the desired movement of the embroidering frame. The piston rod is connected to the stepping motor for closing the valve when the desired position of the embroidering frame has been reached.
