The marker includes a reversible marker body, a grommet with teeth, a body rod and attachment member with two terminal obstruction members, a message sleeve, a writing utensil attachment member, a motor vehicle attachment member, and a self source illuminator. The marker body is reversible and allows the user to select a visibility level depending upon their situation. The marker can be positioned on a motor vehicle component to alert passerby as well as provide passerby alerting illumination that does not require use of electricity. Each side includes a fastener to hold a writing utensil so the user can readily write down information pertinent to the motor vehicle condition or the emergency situation, in addition each side also has sleeve and a reservoir to contain, display, and protect information pertinent to the motor vehicle condition or the emergency situation.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2012Publication date: October 3, 2013Inventor: Lee Lawrence Goodwyn, JR.

Patent number: 8471716Abstract: Signaling methods and apparatuses are described for preventing flood irrigation water from overflowing in a trench, field, or other area. Signaling devices may include indicators such as a reflector, a flag, a light, or a sound device provided on an end of an elongate member having its opposite end engaged with the ground. A stake is driven into the ground near the elongate member in the trench or other area where water will flow. A breakaway link such as a strip of paper is engaged to either the indicator or the elongate member and also to the stake, causing the elongate member to be bent downward, with the breakaway link located in the trench where water will flow. When exposed to the flow of water, the breakaway link weakens and eventually tears such that the elongate member springs upward carrying the indicator with it, signaling an operator that water has reached that location in the trench.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2010Date of Patent: June 25, 2013Inventor: Michael Hansen

Patent number: 8448592Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for rescuing and recovering underwater vehicles. In one embodiment, a system is provided that includes a modular rescue device configured to attach to an underwater vehicle, such as with a tow line. The rescue device can include one or more emergency mechanisms that can be automatically and/or manually activated to aid in detecting the location of the underwater vehicle in the event of an emergency. One exemplary emergency mechanism includes a buoyancy mechanism, e.g., an expandable lift bag, configured to be inflated with a fluid to add buoyancy force to the system to pull the underwater vehicle toward a water surface. Another exemplary emergency mechanism includes a signaling mechanism configured to signal the underwater vehicle's location.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2008Date of Patent: May 28, 2013Assignee: Ocean Server Technology, Inc.Inventors: Jonathan C. Publication number: 20130092076Abstract: A marker is provided for use with a plaster covering. An indicator arrangement is activated by moisture from the plaster covering to provide an indication which is visible from the exposed face of the plaster covering. This may be by swelling, releasing a dye or ink, pushing a pin through the plaster or in other ways.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2011Publication date: April 18, 2013Applicant: SEA-CUBED LIMITEDInventor: Gilly Michael Duncan Fox

Patent number: 8371054Abstract: An artwork protection device (2) having a set of brackets (1) that mount into a wall (18) which support a clear protective cover (14) over the front of a piece of hanging artwork (16). Each bracket has a footing (3) with a proximal end (4) and a distal end (5). The proximal end is attached to the wall using a screw, a bolt and a wall anchor and so forth. An extension (8) having a distal end (9) and a proximal end (10) that attaches to the distal end of the footing. The proximal end of the extension preferably has a recessed edge (12) that is placed through an aperture (13) located on a periphery of the protective cover. A cap (15) attaches to the proximal end of the extension, thereby locking the protective cover in place. The device allows a user to easily remove the protective cover and bracket extensions when the user wants to fully display the painting and to attach the caps directly to the footings to give an aesthetic appearance to the footings.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2010Date of Patent: February 12, 2013Inventor: Robert A.
