  • Patent number: 10323848
Abstract: Disclosed is an expansion tank having an internal cavity separated by a flexible diaphragm to form an upper pressurized gas portion and a lower pressurized fluid portion, and an indicator positioned at an upper part of the expansion tank in communication with the contents of the upper pressurized gas portion. The indicator is configured so as to display a first color if the operating conditions are normal in the pressurized gas portion, and a second color if the amount of moisture detected in the pressurized gas portion greater than or equal to a predetermined amount. Further disclosed is a method for detecting whether there is an excessive amount of moisture in a pressurized gas portion of an expansion tank by allowing pressurized gas from the pressurized gas portion to come into contact with the indicator, and viewing the color displayed by the indicator. As such, the tank can be simply visually inspected to determine whether there is a potential failure in the tank.

The sensor indicates elapsed time in response to a threshold level of the chemical being present within the timer chamber. The timer chamber, timer chemical adsorption/desorption characteristics of the timer chamber conditioning material, and the sensor are configured so that an amount of the timer chemical within the timer chamber reaches the threshold level within a predetermined time after initialization of the timer element.

  • Patent number: 9413108
Abstract: A lever-actuated electrical connector is disclosed having a housing mateable with a mating connector having complementary mating detection terminal. A mating detection terminal is positioned in the housing to form a detection circuit when in contact with the complementary mating detection terminal. A mating lever is supported by the housing. A housing lock is positioned on the housing and in contact with the mating lever when the housing is mated to the mating connector, with the housing lock being displaceable by an operation of the mating lever. The mating detection terminal is positioned at a distance from the counterpart mating detection terminal when the mating lever is in an unlocked positioned, and is in contact with the counterpart mating detection terminal when the mating lever reaches the final mating position to actuate the detection circuit.

  • Patent number: 9217242
Abstract: Fire hydrants each have a band of lamps strapped around them, the lamps powered by a solar collector battery circuit. An RF signal is transmitted to a receiver in the circuit by a remote responder causing the lamps to light up with a coded color related to the water flow rating of each of the hydrants and with a blink rate related to the water pressure of each of the hydrants. Upon arriving at the fire scene responders are able to select an appropriate hydrant for the location and size of the fire. The circuit is able to transmit flow and pressure information to the responders which information is presented on a display screen for early reconnaissance of the water resources at the fire scene.
