The gimbal system includes a grooved, rotatable ball, including a plurality of grooves, wherein two or more of the plurality of grooves are configured to be complimentary with a plurality of teeth of a first gear, and wherein two or more of the plurality of grooves are configured to be complimentary with a plurality of teeth of a second gear. The gimbal system further includes the first gear and the second gear, wherein the first gear and the second gear are approximately perpendicular to each other.

Abstract: An improved numeracy and place-value educational device which accurately displays a range of both whole-number and decimal place-value properties. A conventional counting-wheel odometer comprising a plurality of sequentially numbered counting wheels (10a-10f) and motion transfer components (not shown) is supported by a frame (12). A decimal carrier (20) moves laterally across a portion of the frame (16). The lateral movement allows a decimal point (20?) to precede or follow any numeral in a specific row displayed by the counting wheels (10a-10f). A place value band (18) displays place value names (19a-19f). Its movement, in unison with the decimal carrier (20) and a moveable comma (241, maintains the correct orientation of place-value names (19a-19f) in relation to the decimal point (20?) in unalterable fashion. Force is applied to the motion transfer components which selectively rotate the counting wheels (10a-10f).

Abstract: Cap with a hollow housing containing a count down mechanism so that when a person pushes down on the cap during the opening process, a rotational force within the housing causes the day and numerical count indices printed on cylinders within the housing to advance one station so that the day and count indices showing in viewing apertures located on the outside wall of the housing reflect the fact that an item such as a pill has been taken by the user. A preferred embodiment includes a ring release slide mechanism that allows the user to disengage the advancing mechanism so that the user can manually rotate the counting mechanism to initially set the indices to the correct location with respect to the viewing apertures and to be able to reset the indices if the user presses on the top cap housing accidentally.

Abstract: A rotatably actuated counter is disclosed. The counter includes a ratchet driven unit wheel nested within a tens wheel. Each wheel has a radial face displaying counting indicia. The tens wheel is transparent, allowing the indicia on the unit wheel to be viewed adjacent to the indicia on the tens wheel to provide a total count. A slave wheel is positioned between the unit and tens wheels. A gear on one face of the slave wheel engages gear teeth on the tens wheel. A Geneva mechanism on the other face is engaged by a foot on the unit wheel once per rotation. The wheels are rotatably mounted within a housing having a sidewall with a window through which the count indicia may be viewed. The unit wheel rotates in ten increments and then rotates the tens wheel through one increment by engaging and rotating the slave wheel.

Abstract: An indicating device includes a drive member and a driven member. The driven member is non-rotatably immobilized by the successive engagement of a convex surface on the drive member with a plurality of concave surfaces on the driven member. The driven member further includes a plurality of protrusions that are successively received in a recess of the drive member as an engagement member engages the driven member and rotates the driven member. The driven member has dispensing indicia. In another aspect, an indicating device includes an indicator member having dispensing indicia. A stop member is selectively engaged with successive ones of a plurality of stop surfaces on the indicator member such that the indicator member is non-rotatable. Methods for indicating the amount of substance that have been dispensed from or remain in a container are also provided.

Abstract: An indicating device suitable for indicating the number of metered dosages that have been dispensed from or remain in a container includes a base member adapted to be mounted to the container and a cap member moveably connected to the base member. The cap member is moveable relative to the base member along an axial path. A shaft is non-rotatably mounted to one of the cap member and the base member and defines an axis. An indicator member is rotatably mounted on the shaft and is rotatable in at least a first direction. One of the shaft and the indicator member has a helical groove while the other of the shaft and the indicator member has a follower disposed in the groove. The indicator member is moveable relative to the shaft along the axis as the indicator member is rotated in the first direction. In another embodiment, the indicating device includes first, second and third indicator members.

Abstract: The invention teaches a press-button type display indicator for golf club protector, comprising an enclosure having a marker display window and a connective device to engage with the golf club protector; a rotation wheel that can be rotated intermittently and a first half shaft and a second half shaft serving to supply the rotation of the rotation wheel set inside of the enclosure, wherein the first half shaft and the second half shaft are hollow tube shafts, and are located at the two sides of the rotation wheel, respectively; a pressing apparatus connected to the rotation wheel is disposed at one side of the rotation wheel; and a plurality of different markers is distributed along the circumferential direction of the rotation wheel, and is displayed orderly through the marker display window on the enclosure when rotating the rotation wheel intermittently.

The support member has on an outer surface thereof a visual message hidden from view by the sheet-like or thread-like material and adapted to be exposed to viewing upon sufficient removal of the sheet-like or thread-like material. The invention renders support members for sheet-like or thread-like material, hitherto useless after removal of the sheet-like or thread-like material, commercially attractive.

Abstract: An indicator providing visual information of the level of bulk material in a bin has rotatable visual members with bright and dark colored surfaces covered with a transparent lens. A actuator located within the bin is operatively coupled to the visual members to turn the visual member to an ON position exposing the bright colored surface to a person when bulk material engages the actuator and to an OFF position exposing the dark colored surface to a person when the actuator is free of bulk material whereby the person can determine the level of the bulk material in the bin. The visual members are also provided with a device that triggers a sensor that activates a remote indicator providing data as to the level of bulk material in the bin.

By rotating the disc the apertures can be brought into an air channel or duct (3) through which air is inhaled. The rotatable disc has associated with a central portion a spiral groove or ridge (4) which can engage with peripheral teeth (8) on a toothed wheel (6), such that rotation of the disc (1) results in rotation of the toothed wheel and the toothed wheel is provided with one or more markings (9) which are visible from outside the dosage inhaler upon rotating the disc a predetermined number of times.

Abstract: A Biorythms analog computer-calendar is provided to display without computations the level of the physical, the emotional, and the intellectual biorythms of a human body. The level of the three biorythms appears on display in analog and digital forms for any dialed calendar date, if the computer-calendar is set initially with the individual's birth date. The analog elements used to register the three biorythm levels are drums attached to gears with a number of teeth equal or proportional to 23, 28 and 33, or to the period of the three biorythms respectively. A calendar arrangement is introduced to create a correlation between the displayed biorythm levels and the calendar date associated with them.

Abstract: An improved indicia display apparatus particularly useful for displaying indicia indicating the number of down to be played in football competition and locating the position of the ball along the sideline, for example, the apparatus comprising an opaque outer cylinder with a domed top and bottom, with three evenly spaced openings, said outer cylinder fitting over a translucent inner cylinder with two rows of printed indicia. Illumination within the inner cylinder is attached to a center pole that attaches to the domed top of the outer cylinder by a male and female plastic threaded screw fittings. Abstract: An improvement in the indicator driving device for use in a television receiver incorporating a radio receiver is shown. There is provided an indicator driving device of a type in which the selection of a channel for the television receiver and the selection of a frequency for the radio receiver are performed by means of a common manipulating knob. The improvement resides in a much simplified construction and facilitation of work for obtaining synchronization or matching between the frequency selecting variable capacitor of the radio receiver and the frequency indicator.

Abstract: A tape recorder in which a counter indicates the tape length traversed in the recorder. The counter may be returned to an initial position by a manually operated element. A switching unit for shutting off the drive for the tape, is coupled to the counter so that the drive for the tape is shut off when the counter has returned to its initial position. The counter, furthermore, may be set to a pre-initial position ahead of the first-mentioned initial position by an amount of tape length which corresponds at least to the length of a dead portion of the tape, on which no recording or playback is possible. The recorder is also provided for resetting the speed of the tape from normal speed for recording or playback, to fast speed in the forward and rewind directions. The shutting off of the drive may be operated so that it becomes ready to function only when the fast forward setting is made. The counter may have numbered dials mounted on a common axis and bearing the indicated numbers on their circumference.
