Abstract: A medical dose timing device takes the form of a replacement cap for prescription bottles. A top face of the cap contains a twelve-hour clock face. An hour pointer is made to rotate manually only in one direction via stops at each hour. Each stop comprises a ramp for the free-rotating direction, and a flat face to prevent pointer rotation backwards in the counterclockwise direction.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems, methods, and apparatuses for the management, distribution, dispensing, and administration of consumer products, including over-the-counter and prescription medications through use of a product container labeling system and an optional integrated computer-based or online management system. In certain aspects, the invention relates to a product container comprising a hollow body, a child-resistant cap, and a specialized information label affixed to the hollow body.

Abstract: A closure system including a transparent inner cap, an opaque outer cover, and a liner. The transparent inner cap includes a top wall, an open bottom, a sidewall, and an inner cap attaching mechanism disposed on an exterior surface of the sidewall. The opaque outer cover includes an open top, an open bottom, a sidewall, and an outer cover attaching mechanism disposed on an interior surface of the sidewall. The opaque outer cover is dimensioned and configured to be assembled with the transparent inner cap via the corresponding attaching mechanisms to form an assembled two-piece closure with the opaque outer cover substantially covering the sidewall of the transparent inner cap. The liner is operable to be inserted into the two-piece closure such that the liner is visible through the open top of the opaque outer cover and the top wall of the transparent inner cap.

Abstract: A medication reminder system includes a container and a reminder ring. The container includes a plurality of protuberances located along the neck area of which creates a groove between each protuberance and the container includes indicia. The indicia are time indicators located at a rotational position along a circumference of the shoulder area. The ring is rotatably engaged to the neck area of the container to indicate a time for a next medication dosage. The ring has a plurality of internal locking members which each rotationally engage at least one of the plurality of protuberances to lock the ring in a desired rotated position. The ring has at least one external member which points to indicia located at a shoulder area of the container.

Abstract: A medicinal dosage device may comprise a base having dosing indicators operably connected to the base. The dosing indicators may comprise about four arms spaced at about ninety degree intervals, which may indicate a three hour block of time. The dosing indicators may be selectably movable as a unit relative to the base to indicate medicinal dosage times for at least two different medications.

Abstract: A standalone electronic passive reminder device allows a user to manually actuate a first switch to cause a display to show a count-up in the form of an elapsed time in days since a routine task was last completed. The user can manually actuate the first switch again when the user subjectively determines that too long of an interval has elapsed, and after the task has been completed again, so that a new count-up and display of elapsed time are initiated. The user can also manually actuate a second switch to selectively show on the display data that informs the user about the length and frequency of the time intervals between multiple task completions.

Abstract: Child safety lid/cover is provided and used to close the opening of content containers including rigid containers. The cover requires a multiple step process in order to be removed and helps to prevent inadvertent or accidental openings of the container. An embodiment for flexible bags includes the cover and adds a ring member that contains the locking section that the cover/lid is secured to. The flexible bag is secured to the ring member. The disclosed lid/cover can also be incorporated into lids of larger containers, such as, without limitation, relatively large tubs and pails.

Abstract: To address the widespread problem of half of all patients failing to take prescribed medications as directed by their physicians, the present inventor devised, among other things, one or more medication reminders. For example, one embodiment, particularly suitable for only two- or three-a-day prescriptions, comprises a repositionable indicator mechanism that attaches via a self-adhesive microsuction backing to the top or other surface of a plastic prescription medication bottle. The indicator, which can take the form of a slider that moves between two or three indicator positions, in some cases using a detent locking mechanism, to simultaneously indicate the prescribed dosage frequency, last dosage taken, and remaining dosages for a day.

Abstract: A sterile packaging assembly configured to receive a surgical instrument is disclosed. The sterile packaging assembly comprises a vacuum-molded tray and a particulate trap. The vacuum-molded tray comprises an instrument cavity configured to receive the surgical instrument, and a trap cavity. The particulate trap is positioned in the trap cavity. The particulate trap comprises a housing including a funnel shaped side terminating in an opening. The opening is in communication with a chamber defined in the particulate trap.

Abstract: Adjustable indicators for containers and methods for using and making the same are provided. In one embodiment, a cap includes a closure body defining a closure space, a dial, an external force interface, a path portion defining a path, and an interaction feature including an extender that is operative to move along the path, wherein application of external force on the external force interface is operative to move the extender in a first direction along a first segment of the path, at least partial termination of the external force on the external force interface is operative to move the extender in a second direction along a second segment of the path, and movement of the extender along the second segment of the path in the second direction is operative to rotate the dial body about an axis within the closure space.

Abstract: A protected blister package assembled by a pharmacist for a patient has the correctness of its assembly confirmed by checking the correct correlation of three binary codes respectively appearing on three components of the package. The first component comprises a blister sheet loaded with the prescribed medication doses; the second component comprises a backing sheet sealing the medication doses in the cavities of the package blisters; and the third component comprises a protective card to be folded around the blister package after it has been attached to the card. Prior to assembly of the blister package two of the binary codes are printed on the backing sheet and the third binary code is printed on the card. During assembly of the package a portion of the backing sheet bearing one of its two codes is transferred to a predetermined position on the blister sheet. After assembly of the protected blister package the three binary codes are scanned to confirm that the package has been correctly assembled.

Abstract: A system for promoting medication adherence is provided. The system may receive medical information and medication access information via a medication adherence device, the medication adherence device having a housing configured to be removably coupled to a medicine container. The information may be used to form one or more blind spots which representative of symptoms of glaucoma and which may be produced on the display screen of a patient's client device. The system may use Gamblification and/or Gamification in which a blind spot obscures portions of a game of chance program and/or novelty game type program, respectively, from being observed on the display screen. As medical information and medication compliance information is received, the number, size, opacity, and/or shape of the blind spots produced on the display screen of a patient's client device may change to provide actual perception of visual loss which spurs patients to compliance.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a dosage management device comprising a lid with dosage regimen indicia. The dosage regimen indicia comprise information related to dosage frequency. The dosage regimen indicia are a representation of AM, PM, day and night. The lid comprises a first layer having a cavity, a second layer disposed within the cavity comprising dosage regimen indicia on an upper surface thereof and a third layer having an opening, encloses the cavity of the first layer. The first layer, the second layer and the third layer are connected to one another via a swivel mount. The swivel mount is configured to enable the user to rotate the third layer 45 degrees to shade at least a portion of the dosage regimen indicia comprising the information related to the frequency at which the medication is to be retrieved from the container and expose at least a portion of the dosage regimen indicia comprising the information related to a subsequent frequency.

Abstract: The current disclosure is directed to a container with a dispensing schedule and, in various described implementations, to a container and a complementary cap that includes a dispensing schedule. During each dispensing cycle, which includes removing the cap from the container to allow access to the contents of the container and re-securing the cap to the container, the display schedule is automatically advanced to a next indication. In one implementation, the container is a bottle with a threaded neck and the cap is complementarily threaded and has a cylindrical rim and a schedule display. An indication on or within the schedule display is displayed through an aperture in the cap rim. Features included in the cap and the schedule display interoperate to ensure that the displayed indication is advanced to a next indication when the cap is unscrewed from, and subsequently threaded onto, the bottle.

Abstract: A device for storing pharmaceuticals that includes a bottom portion having wells and a lid having correlating well covers. The wells and cover are manufactured from an insulating material which protects the medication from heat and moisture. The bottom portion and lid preferably includes matching tabs to assist the user in lining up the lid with the bottom. The device may include a child resistant rim on the bottom portion that “locks” the lid onto the device when it is closed. The lid of the device may include a protrusion which interlocks with a complimentary indentation in the bottom of an additional device to allow for easy transport of additional pharmaceuticals. The device may further include a hanger hole for easy transport of the device.

The assembly further includes a lock to prevent rotation of the tablet disc in a first rotational direction during a first predetermined time interval. The lock includes a first component and a second component. The first component includes a display and a first circuit connected to the display. The second component includes an actuator, a catch, a plurality of teeth on an outer circumferential surface of the second component, and a ratchet operatively arranged to engage with the plurality of teeth and the case.

Abstract: A washcloth identification system including a first holder and a second holder, each comprising a fastener on a rear side thereof. A washcloth support hook extends downwardly from each of the first holder and the second holder. A first set of numbered indicia is disposed on a front side of the first holder, and a second set of numbered indicia is disposed on a front side of the second holder. Each of the first hook and the second hook is configured to support a washcloth thereon. The fasteners are configured to secure the first and second holders to a wall of a shower, such that users can hang multiple washcloths. Tactile indicators having raised perimeter edges, such as raised Braille patterns, are overlaid on top of the numbered indicia. The holders can thus be identified by either sight or touch in order to identify which washcloth the user is retrieving.

This invention can be used with medication containers of various sizes and shapes. It can be used over and over on the same pill bottle or it and be easily removed and placed on a new pill bottle. The device is placed on the exterior perimeter of the medication container and comprises a calendar and a marker assembly. The calendar shows the days of the week and is attached to the vertical side of the pill bottle using a weak adhesive. The marker assembly comprises an elastic band and a small tubular shaped sliding marker with the elastic band passing through an axial hole through the sliding marker.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a universal breathing tube adaptor that can accept or otherwise accommodate a metered dose canister (MDC) having a variety of shapes, structures, sizes, and/or configurations. The present breathing tube adaptor includes a sidewall which defines a chamber. A conduit extends from the chamber through a floor of the device for discharging aerosolized medicament from the MDC. The sidewall includes opposing exposed edges which define a channel. The sidewall supports the MDC when it is invertingly inserted into the chamber. The channel permits structure of an MDC to extend radially outward through the channel and outside the chamber thereby enabling the valve stem of the MDC to engage the conduit.

Abstract: A container storing pills or other discrete objects and which provides restricted access to the pills. The container has a rotatable pill drum allowing selective access to pills when the drum is rotated to various dispensing positions. A rotatable combination disk or other component is provided that has a plurality of channels formed therein and which can be rotationally locked to the drum. Movable pegs engage the channels. Each dispensing position has an associated peg position combination. Rotation of the pill drum from one dispensing position to the next is blocked unless the pegs are moved into the appropriate peg position combination. The pill drum can be rotated from one dispensing position to the next using a handle or via an automatic spring loaded mechanism.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring the content of a medicine bottle via electrical capacitive tomography (ECT) are presented in which the three-dimensional volume of the medicine bottle, and its content, are imaged by developing a map of its permittivity. The permittivity map is developed by applying a stimulus between two of a plurality of electrodes that are arranged about a chamber of the medicine bottle in which the content is contained, and measuring an electrical response at each of the remaining electrodes of the plurality. By repeating this process for every pair of electrodes within the plurality, a complete permittivity map of the three-dimensional volume is developed. Once the permittivity map is established, the number and type of tablets (or liquid) within the volume is determined.

Abstract: Adjustable indicators for containers and methods for using and making the same are provided. In one embodiment, a method for changing the portion of indicia on a dial within a closure of a bottle cap that is visible to a user through a passageway in the bottle cap may include rotating the dial with respect to the closure by a first amount in a particular direction about a particular axis by forcing the dial towards a base for physically interacting with the base, and rotating the dial with respect to the closure by a second amount in the particular direction about the particular axis by forcing a button towards the dial for physically interacting with the dial. Additional embodiments are also provided.

Abstract: Various shaped packaging containers for storing liquids and/or solid contents. In one embodiment, the container can have a leaf shaped body member. The body member can be opaque or transparent. A base member can be secured to a bottom area of the container. The base can be solid or can be provided with a lid opening at the bottom to provide access to the contents contained within the leaf shaped body member. The lid can be pivotally secured to the base. In a preferred embodiment a novel child safety lid/cover is provided and used to close the opening for the container. The cover requires a multiple step process in order to be removed and helps to prevent inadvertent or accidental openings of the container.

The diameter D of the blister pack (12) is equal to the side lengths L of the two opposite surfaces (A, B) of the casing (18). The blister pack is rotatably mounted inside the casing (18) such that the axis of rotation passes through the center of the blister pack (12). The opening (20) provides access to at least one of the blister cavities (14).

Abstract: Systems and methods for easily tracking medication usage. In one embodiment, a product comprises an adhesive-backed strip that has a set of tracking tabs. The strip is affixed to a medication container such as a pill bottle. The tabs have corresponding identifiers (e.g., days of the week) that are printed on them. When a dose of the medication is taken, the tab corresponding to that dose is torn off of the strip to provide an indication that the dose has been taken.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing pills stored into any one of a plurality of individual containers of an array-type pill package is provided. The individual containers have a generally flexible common top surface and all extend on a same side. The 5 dispenser includes a cylindrical package holder having a cylindrical periphery configured for holding the array-type pill package thereon with the individual containers projecting radially away and is rotatably mounted on a chassis. A controller system controls the rotation of the cylindrical package holder to bring a selected one of the individual containers in alignment with a pill extracting 10 mechanism.

Abstract: Adjustable indicators for containers and methods for using and making the same are provided. In one example embodiment, a cap for a bottle includes a closure operative to be coupled to the bottle for closing the bottle, a base coupled to the closure, a dial positioned between a portion of the base and a portion of the closure, and a gear assembly positioned between a portion of the base and a portion of the dial. The gear assembly includes a dial gear subassembly coupled to the dial and a user gear subassembly, wherein the gear assembly is operative to translate movement of the user gear subassembly into movement of the dial gear subassembly for moving the dial with respect to the closure. Additional embodiments are also provided.

Abstract: For flash copy relationship management, a management module identifies a data unit in a flash copy relationship with an extent range using a flash copy table. A resolution module erases the flash copy relationship from the flash copy table in response to the flash copy relationship completing.

The spacer is positionable in a select one of a plurality of positions on the base. The base includes members to secure the spacer in the select one position. The lid includes a cavity on the bottom surface of a lip which mates with a tab on the spacer, such that when the spacer is placed upon the base and the lid is threaded onto the base, the tab secures prevents the removal of the lid from the base without first removing the tab from the cavity.

Abstract: A package for containing tablets or like items is provided and has child-resistant and senior-friendly dispensing properties. The package includes an outer sleeve having opposed first and second wall panels. The first wall panel has a series of separate tear-away tabs. A separate card is contained within the sleeve and has a plurality of separate compartments and at least one reinforcement rib. A series of separate push-through chads is provided by the packaging and are directly opposed from and aligned with the tabs. The reinforcement rib provides a column support between the first and second wall panels and is of a height greater than that of the compartments. Each compartment is located directly between and aligned with one of the chads and one of the tabs, and the reinforcement rib provides a pre-determined amount of spacing between the tabs and the compartments.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are approaches for a precise medication, vitamin, and/or other medication substance organizer having a plurality of storage compartments that house and separate medications and vitamins by a specific time of day and a means for indicating whether a particular medication or vitamin has already been or needs to be taken. This organizer removes doubt associated with missed or duplicate drug dosages, interactions between medications and vitamins, as well as regulating daily medication and vitamin doses. Additionally, the organizer provides a location to indicate a name and a time a medication or vitamin should be ingested or otherwise taken and an indicator to show whether a medication or vitamin has already been removed from the organizer for ingestion. The medication, vitamin, and/or other medication substance organizer can also be used to prompt a user to take medications that will not fit into the organizer, such as an inhaler.
