  • Patent number: 10207290
Abstract: The present invention provides a coating method for coating an adhesive solution on a substrate to form a film layer. The coating method comprises the following steps: S1, obtaining an initial value of a coating parameter corresponding to a target thickness of the film layer based on at least one functional relation between a thickness of the film layer formed within a predetermined period and at least one coating parameter; S2, starting to coat in accordance with the initial value of the coating parameter obtained in step S1, so that the thickness of the film layer obtained reaches an initial target thickness. Accordingly, the present invention further provides a coating device. According to the present invention, the value of the coating parameter can be determined quickly, thereby coating efficiency can be increased.

  • Patent number: 8230804
Abstract: This liquid applicator covers all sides of substantially flat and dimensional surfaces of boards or siding with stain or paint in a uniform manner. The applicator has an upper and lower series of rollers and wiping agents, a set of vertical rollers, and a paint collection assembly. Preferably, some of the upper rollers and some of the lower rollers will consist of horizontal wet-rollers which receive liquid from an outside source. The remaining rollers are horizontal dry-rollers which absorb, smooth and buff the surface. The vertical rollers coat the side aspects of a board. All rollers spread paint rapidly over all board surfaces in a uniform manner. The main components have adjustment features: the rollers move vertically and toggle clamps and the like permit custom selection and sizing for each of the rollers and wipers. • Patent number: 5650010
Abstract: A method and apparatus for two-side coating of a light base weight printing paper web containing mechanical pulp or recycled fiber. The first side of a web (5) is coated in a first coating station (1), the coating applied to the first side is dried at least partially in a first dryer unit (3). The second side of the web (5) is coated subsequent to the drying of the first side in a second coating station (2), and the coating applied to the second side is dried at least partially in a second dryer unit (4). Both coatings are formed by applying a required amount of coating mix onto the perimeter of respective soft film-coating rolls (22) and subsequently transferring the coat film to the web (5) in a nip (N.sub.1) formed between a respective backing roll (24) and the respective soft film-coating roll (22).

Abstract: A sizing applicator with two pairs of rollers arranged in sequence with one another along the transport path of a yarn sheet can be converted, without changing the position of the pairs of rollers, between an operating mode as a pad-type sizing applicator and a squeezing-type sizing applicator. Each pair of rollers has a defined gap at a common tangent therebetween and each pair of rollers has one roller disposed at a lower elevation than the other roller of the pair. The two roller pairs are relatively arranged such that their respective common tangents intersect beneath the roller pairs approximately midway between the roller pairs.

  • Patent number: 5476546
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a liquid lubricant in a pattern to a face of a sheet workpiece has a support frame through which the workpiece is transported in a travel direction substantially parallel to its face, a plurality of axles in the frame extending along respective axes generally perpendicular to the direction and individually displaceable generally perpendicular to the direction and to the respective axes, and respective liquid-pervious rollers journaled on the axles about the respective axes. A liquid lubricant is fed to the rollers and respective actuators connected between the axles and the frame displace the respective rollers perpendicular to the direction and to the respective axes into and out of contact with the workpiece as same passes in the direction through the frame. A controller connected to the actuators individually controls and operates same to apply the liquid lubricant in the rollers to the workpiece in a predetermined pattern as the workpiece passes through the frame.

  • Patent number: 5413806
Abstract: A continuous strip coating machine has top and bottom applicator rolls and a backup roll adjacent the top applicator roll. A lift roll to lift the strip of material and thus vary the angle of wrap of the strip about the bottom applicator roll is provided. The use of the lift roll in turn varies the pressure between the strip and the roll and thus the thickness of the coating applied to the strip bottom. Thickness may be measured indirectly by measuring pressure of the strip on the applicator roll. Thickness may also be measured directly. Oscillations of the strip in a drying oven may also be sensed and compensated for. Feedback control is used with the thickness measuring techniques to control the coating thickness by varying angle of wrap, relative speed between the applicator roll and strip, and/or nip pressure between the applicator roll and a transfer roll that transfers coating material to the applicator roll.
