  • Patent number: 7935187
Abstract: The invention provides a multi-film forming apparatus including a substrate holder stock chamber for storing a plurality of substrate holders separately from a path in the multi-film forming apparatus, so that production can be performed without being affected by the process of removing a film accumulated on the surface of the substrate holder and the process of replacing the substrate holder, or by the process of removing a film accumulated on the surface of the substrate holder or the process of replacing the substrate holder, and hence high-throughput production is possible. A branch path is provided on the path of the multi-film forming apparatus, and a substrate holder stock chamber for storing a plurality of substrate holders which enables retrieval of the substrate holder from the path and feeding of the substrate holder to the path is provided.

  • Patent number: 6423139
Abstract: A liquid chemical treatment apparatus includes a coating apparatus for applying a coating liquid such as resist onto the surface of a substantially planar substrate such as a glass substrate. The coating apparatus includes a nozzle with an elongate injection outlet such as a slit with a width substantially the same as that of the substrate, and a liquid circulating passage connected to the nozzle for supplying the coating liquid to the nozzle. Mechanisms are provided with the circulating passage and the nozzle to remove air from the liquid, and to maintain the circulating liquid at a substantially constant temperature and a substantially constant flow rate.

  • Patent number: 6056821
Abstract: A chemically washed workpiece is heated and degreased by a heating and degreasing section in a process for delivering the workpiece in a base which is then cooled down in a cooling section. The workpiece is then delivered onto the base by a lift-up unit and is coated by the adhesion of the powder coat and the curing operation during the passage of pipes of an electrostic coater, a curing section and the like. Furthermore, the workpiece is again delivered into the base by a lift-down unit and discharged after being cooled down during the passage of pipes of the cooling section i.e., the units of each step being arranged separately into a lower mechanism group and an upper mechanism group, and the cooling section also serving to cool the workpiece after the heating, degreasing and curing. Accordingly, the overall length of the apparatus is shortened.

  • Patent number: 5194092
Abstract: An electrostatic coating apparatus for flat-plate type objects to be coated, comprising a conveyor carrying flat-plate type objects to be coated and having two parallel and linear portions which carry said objects in opposite directions and which are each L in length and are spaced 2R apart, said L and R having the relationship L.gtoreq.2R; a reversing device which receives coated objects carried from one linear portion and which reverses said objects before feeding them to the other linear portion; a rotary spray head of which the axis of rotation is centrally situated between said linear portions of the conveyor and extends in a vertical direction; and a supporting device which subjects the rotary spray head to reciprocation along said axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 5136973
Abstract: A device for applying a double-sided coating to a substrate comprises three transport lines which are mutually connected by conveying stations in the form of belt-type conveyors. The substrate is placed onto a paper web, and the upper surface of the substrate is coated with the liquid to be applied in a spraying station in an electrostatic field; subsequently dried; turned through 180.degree. in the horizontal direction by a first belt-type conveyor; and passed onto a punched conveyor belt which is endlessly guided about a suction roller. The substrate is turned upside down by the suction roller, through a jet of compresed air. The substrate is transported onto a second belt-type conveyor where it is horizontally turned through 180.degree. and conveyed onto the third transport line, in which it is again passed through a cleaning station and a spraying station where the other surface of the substrate is coated with a liquid resist.

  • Patent number: 4953495
Abstract: A system for coating articles by the use of electrostatic attraction of ionized particles which are subsequently cured. The system includes a pair of carriers for jointly carrying each article through the system, from application of the particles to the article through curing of the particles on the article. Each carrier is capable of carrying the article independently of the other. After deposition of the particles on the article the article and the carriers are conveyed through a cleaning station wherein one of the carriers is moved out of carrying engagement with the article and cleaned while the article supported by the other carrier. The other carrier is then moved out of supporting engagement with the article and cleaned while the article is supported by the first carrier.

  • Patent number: 4656051
Abstract: A method for electrostatically applying a thermoplastic resin coating on a threaded portion of a fastener to provide a self locking element thereon. A plurality of fasteners are moved by a spaced pair of endless belts passed a spray station where a stream of powdered resin is directed toward the threaded ends of the fasteners. The fasteners and resin are polarized to opposite polarities at the spray station whereby the powdered resin is attracted to and clings to the threaded ends of the fastener and extends completely about the circumference of said ends. Air jet nozzles located downstream of the spray station may direct streams of compressed air against certain portions of the powdered resin to remove the resin therefrom to provide uncoated lead threads and to regulate the distance that the resin extends circumferentially about the threaded ends to provide a coating extending between 180 degrees and 360 degrees about the threaded ends.

  • Patent number: 4481228
Abstract: A paint sprayer is disposed substantially on the axis of an almost closed (omega-shaped) loop formed by a transporter. Its axis of rotation is aligned so that the area in which the sheet of atomized paint it produces intersects the cylinder defined by the axes of the objects to be painted lies in an area contained between but reaching as far as circles delimiting the part-cyclindrical surface over which the objects move. An annular nozzle connected to a source of pressurized gas is disposed behind a rotating bowl of the sprayer so that an annular gas jet is directed onto the initial part of the thin sheet of atomized paint. The pressure of the gas fed to this nozzle is modulated periodically so that the aforementioned intersection area reaches the delimiting circles alternately and periodically.
