Abstract: Provided herein are compositions and methods that facilitate animal enrichment and breeding in animal containment environments. Provided in certain embodiments are animal containment enrichment compositions that include one or more sheets, where at least one of the one or more sheets comprises an array of scores defining a flat array of strips in the sheet. Provided in certain embodiments are animal containment enrichment compositions that include one or more sheets, where at least one of the one or more sheets comprises an array of scores defining a flat array of sections of the sheet.

Abstract: An animal toilet includes a body portion, and a partition portion. The body portion has a bottom face part and a side face part, and is in a box shape. The partition portion is in a plate shape, and divides the inside of the body portion vertically. The partition portion has a through hole that allows urine to pass therethrough. The thickness of the partition portion in a surrounding part around the through hole is smaller than the thickness of the partition portion in a remaining part that is the part other than the surrounding part. The surrounding part around the through hole inclines downward toward the through hole.

Abstract: A quick disposal sanitary system that enables the collection of deposited waste materials is disclosed. The system includes an absorbent pad; a liquid impervious layer extending outwardly from the absorbent pad, creating a peripheral boundary; and a drawstring system having a cord and a pull-tab; wherein the cord is disposed in the peripheral boundary. The drawstring system is configured to fold the peripheral boundary inwardly, thereby causing the absorbent pad and the liquid impervious layer to constrict and gather into a closed configuration constrict.

Abstract: A waste cartridge in combination with a waste machine or apparatus that maintains waste pads for a pet owner, automatically or manually by removing and sealing soiled pads and waste and then replacing the soiled pad with a clean pad on a pet bed of the machine. The apparatus senses when a pet is using a waste pad portion and when the pet is finished, the machine takes up the soiled portion of the pad and removes and seals the soiled portion of the pad roll and the waste automatically, moving the pad into a repository for later removal and disposal of the waste cartridge when the pad roll is used up and then replacing removed pad with a new waste cartridge. The waste cartridge is comprised of a pad roll and a take-up rod attached to one end of the pad by any means such as a clip, slot or adhesive on the take-up rod.

Abstract: A urinal for pets, intended for dogs, which can be installed in public roads and in private roads. The purpose of the disclosure is to create an area where animals can urinate in hygienic conditions that prevent the deterioration and poor image of the urban environment, the urinal being retractable and self-cleaning. The urinal can be installed flush with the ground or below the ground and is based on a pair of concentric tubes, one of which is moveable with respect to the other, being at rest in the retracted position, that is, when not in use, while, when in use, one of the tubes for receiving the animal urine is visible. When returned to the rest position, the tube for receiving the animal urine is cleaned by means of a cleaning fluid. In addition, the urinal can be integrated into the surroundings, since it can incorporate a decorative element.

Abstract: A method of disposing of an absorbent pad may include pivoting a flexible bag from a storage position to a use position such that at least a portion of the flexible bag extends from the absorbent pad, folding a left and right portion of the flexible bag towards a center portion of the flexible bag to form a stacked portion, rolling the stacked portion towards the flexible bag to form a roll, and disposing the roll within a cavity defined by one of an outer surface or an inner surface of the flexible bag.

Abstract: A disposable pet litter tray is formed by a sheet member that defines end wall portions and side wall portions around a floor portion. A layer of pet material is disposed on the floor portion and covered with a retaining film or equivalent layer of material that is adhered to the floor portion around the layer of pet material. The end wall and side wall portions can be folded over the floor portion and pet material, and the assembly can then be rolled up for travel, storage, sale, and/or shipping, prior to use. To use the disposable pet tray, the assembly is unrolled, and the end wall and wall portions are then raised to be substantially perpendicular to the plane of the floor portion. Then the retaining film can be removed to allow access to the pet material by a pet.

Abstract: Platform for particular use as a pet bed includes a foam core having an upper surface, a lower surface on an opposite side of the foam core from the upper surfaces, and at least one side surface between the upper and lower surfaces along a periphery of the foam core. Artificial turf extends over the upper surface and alongside each side surface. Elongate connectors extend through the foam core between the upper and lower surfaces and have opposite end regions projecting out of opposite sides of the foam core. These connectors may be rods or dowels with threaded end regions that pass through apertures in flaps of the artificial turf. Fasteners are screwed onto the threaded end regions of the dowels with the artificial turf inward of the fasteners to thereby cause the artificial turf to be urged toward and secured to the foam core.

Abstract: An absorbent article, a portion of which is configured to absorb fluids, has a chassis with a length greater than its width. The chassis length extends in a longitudinal direction from the back to the front of a user between first and second longitudinal edges and the width extends in a lateral direction substantially perpendicular to the length and between first and second lateral edges. Absorbent strips with a length greater than their width are arranged at outer edges of the chassis for added absorbency of the article.

Abstract: A pet training pad includes a central absorbent pad on top of a waterproof bottom layer. The waterproof bottom layer covers one side of the central absorbent pad. The pet training pad also includes a wicking material around a periphery of the central absorbent pad and/or one or more fringe barriers around a periphery of the central absorbent pad. A pet training pad manufacturing method involves cutting a bottom waterproof plastic layer, placing die-cut absorbent layers on the bottom plastic layer and laminating or adhering the absorbent layers to the bottom waterproof plastic layer to keep the absorbent layers together and positioned, layering roll cut first fringe borders and wicking edges on the bottom waterproof plastic layer around borders of the absorbent layers and securing them in place, and cutting to create a final shape.

Abstract: Method and device for disposal of waste including, without limitation, human or animal waste. Disposal device includes a bag-like member coupled to an absorbent member. The bag-like member may be folded for compact storage prior to use and unfolded during use thereof. A method for collecting, removing, and/or disposing of waste utilizing the disposal device including the steps of: unfolding the bag-like member; inserting a hand therein; collecting waste with the absorbent member; inverting the bag-like member so as to effectively wrap the absorbent member and waste within the bag-like member; optionally sealing the bag-like member; and disposing of the disposal device, the waste contained within the disposal device.

Abstract: A pet pad includes a pad body and a liquid permeable sheet body. The pad body is sheet shaped and has a carrying surface. The carrying surface has a mating portion. The liquid permeable sheet body has a liquid permeable portion and an annular portion circumferentially connected to a periphery of the liquid permeable portion. The annular portion includes a fixing segment and a positioning segment. The fixing segment is fixed to the carrying surface, the positioning segment is detachably positioned on the mating portion, and a length of the fixing segment is greater than a length of the positioning segment. The positioning segment is capable of being separated from the mating portion to form an opening, and the pet pad is configured to provide a moisture absorbing sheet body to be placed between the liquid permeable sheet body and the pad body through the opening.

Abstract: A door assembly includes a frame having interconnected wires that define an opening for an animal to pass therethrough, and a door having interconnected wires and being coupled to the frame. A latch assembly has a handle structure and a pin. The handle structure is pivotable with respect to one of the door and the frame, and the pin is movable axially with respect to one of the door and the frame. A first wire of the plurality of wires of the frame forms a key hole assembly. The key hole assembly defines an aperture for receiving the pin when the door is in a latched position with respect to the frame. A tab assembly is formed by at least one wire of the door and is disposable behind at least one of the plurality of wires of the frame in the closed position.

Abstract: A door assembly for an animal enclosure includes a frame having a plurality of interconnected horizontal and vertical wires that defines an opening for an animal to pass therethrough and a door having a plurality of interconnected horizontal and vertical wires and being coupled to the frame. The door is disposable between a closed position and an open position. A latch assembly is coupled to either the door or frame, and removably couples the door to the frame in the closed position. A blocking member is coupled to the door and located between at least two adjacent wires of the plurality of interconnected wires of the door. The blocking member is disposed adjacent to the latch member such that a portion of the latch member is in contact with the blocking member in a rest position.

Abstract: An interactive waste receptacle combines a waste receptacle, a display device, a sensor, a camera, a speaker, and a variety of interactive media to receive and process waste, and perform an assortment of interactive functions in a public venue. The interactive waste receptacle detects events from a user, and responds to the events with interactive functions, including; receiving, compacting, and processing a waste; detecting proximal images, sounds, and smells; and displaying advertisements, text, graphics, animation, video, audio, and games. The waste receptacle receives and compacts the waste. A display device integrated with the waste receptacle displays images of advertising, messages, and pertinent information. A sensor detects events from the user. A camera records a user image. A speaker emits and receives audio signals to the user. Interactive media also record user events. The sensor, camera, speaker, and interactive media perform an interactive function in response to the event.

Abstract: An absorbent pad holder and containment system includes a frame that can be adjustable in length on all sides to accommodate a varying range of absorbent pad dimensions. The frame design allows the absorbent area of the pad to remain flat while the ramped perimeter design of the frame and the corner attachment system holds the outer edge of the absorbent pad into an upward position. This creates a containment barrier for liquid that would normally flow over the edge of the pad and onto the floor surface. The perimeter design of the liner keeps the pad centered and provides flow of all liquid landing on the pad within the absorbent area of the pad.

Abstract: A door assembly for an animal enclosure includes a door frame and a door each having a plurality of interconnected horizontal and vertical wires. The door frame defines an opening for an animal to pass therethrough, and the door is slidably coupled to the door frame such that it moves between an open position and a closed position relative to the door frame to allow egress and ingress through the opening. A catch member is coupled to the door frame. A latch includes a base member, a bolt, and a lever portion. A first vertical wire and a second vertical wire of the door are spaced from one another such that the first vertical wire is at a first end of the door and the second vertical wire is at a second end of the door. In the closed position, the bolt is coupled to the first vertical wire.

Abstract: An absorbent sheet for pets that is highly effective in concealing pet excrement. The absorbent sheet includes: a liquid-permeable front-surface sheet; a liquid-impermeable back-surface sheet; an absorbent body that is provided between the front-surface sheet and the back-surface sheet, and that absorbs liquid that has permeated through the front-surface sheet; an intermediate sheet that is arranged between the front-surface sheet and the absorbent body; and a color arrangement region that forms a color arrangement pattern together with at least one of the front-surface sheet, the back-surface sheet, and the absorbent body. The front-surface sheet is formed so as to have a lower total light transmittance than the intermediate sheet.

Abstract: A cat litter box has a bath tub form having a circumferential lip having an underside, a raised perimeter extending upwardly from the lip, the raised perimeter having top edge, and a circumferential groove on the underside of the lip, a lid having an aperture therein, the lid configured to fit within the raised perimeter and rest on the lip, the aperture configured to permit ingress and egress of a cat, and a plurality of fasteners having an upper appendage and lower appendage, wherein the upper appendage is configured to extend over the perimeter, and the lower appendage comprises a protrusion configured to engage with the groove. The lid may also have a grate that is porous, or it may be textured and porous, to help remove litter from a cat's feet as it comes out of the litter box.

Abstract: An excrement-treating material includes a water-absorbing core part, and a surface layer. The core part is formed by wet-kneading and compression-granulating a compounding material containing a paper powder and organic or inorganic fine pieces. Dents and/or protrusions are formed on the surface of the core part by deformation by the kneading or compression of the fine pieces or peeling-off of the fine pieces from the paper powder upon release of compression. The surface of the core part is discontinuously colored by utilizing the dents and/or protrusions, and covered with the surface layer. The colored parts of the surface of the core part are exposed through the surface layer during absorption of excreted urine, while the non-colored part of the surface of the core part is stained by the color of the excreted urine, and the color of the excreted urine is exposed through the surface layer.

Abstract: An absorbent member of animal excreta disposal sheet includes a first absorbent core containing at least hydrophilic fibers and a second absorbent core composed of a plurality of highly absorbent polymer particles. The plurality of highly absorbent polymer particles includes a large-diameter particle group having a plurality of large-diameter highly absorbent polymer particles, and a small-diameter particle group having a plurality of small-diameter highly absorbent polymer particles. The mass proportions of the large-diameter particle group and the small-diameter particle group are each 15-60 mass %, and the total mass proportion of the large-diameter particle group and the small-diameter particle group is at least 50 mass %.

Abstract: An animal enclosure and method of collapsing the enclosure is disclosed. The enclosure is fabricated from a plurality of panels. One or more first panels have elongate rods whose end portions are formed into a hook. An edge rod of an adjacent second panel is disposed within the hooked end portion of the first panel. By offsetting the hooked end portion of the first panel from the plane within which the first panel resides, the first and second panels to be stacked upon each other by pivoting the second panel onto the first panel.

The foundation layer has a first horizontal fold line to divide the foundation layer into a first and second part, an impermeable backing, and an absorbent covering affixed to the impermeable backing. The first attachment point is attached to the first part at a first anchor point essentially one half the open length from the first horizontal fold line and the second attachment point is attached to the second part at a second anchor point disposed essentially the open length away from the first anchor point. The target structure is configured to be placed in a storage position when the foundation layer is folded configuration in a functional position when the foundation layer is opened.

Abstract: A method for making a pet urinal pad having deammoniation function and high saline water absorption ability comprising the following steps: (A) milling and sieving natural zeolites to obtain zeolite powder having a particle size smaller than 100 microns; (B) immersing the zeolite powder into 1 mol/L sulfuric acid to process for 10-60 minutes under a processing temperature of 50-80° C.; performing vacuum filtration and drying on the processed zeolite powder to obtain acidulated zeolite; (C) adding 2-10 parts of acidulated zeolite into 100 parts of super absorbent resin, thoroughly and uniformly mixing to obtain a mixture; (D) attaching the mixture formed in step (C) to wood pulp paper to form a deodorization water absorption layer; and (E) covering the deodorization water absorption layer with a PE film as the backsheet and a non-woven fabric as the topsheet to form the pet urinal pad having the deammoniation function and the high saline water absorption ability.

Ridge lines formed in the surface sheet in the first folded section and the second folded section extend continuously along a first direction parallel to the surface sheet, from one end of the surface sheet in the first direction to the other end thereof.

Abstract: A pad with adhesive securing elements for animal or pet excretory collection and disposal is provided. The pad includes an absorbent layer centrally located above a generally rectangular excretion impervious liner. The excretion impervious liner extends beyond the perimeter boundary of the absorbent layer. The absorbent layer is centrally affixed to the top of the excretion impervious liner. The bottom of the excretion impervious liner has an adhesive strip adhesively affixed about each of the four corners. The adhesive strips have a non-deployed and a deployed configuration, when deployed, the pad can be secured to a position on a floor or the like. The adhesive strips, whether in their deployed or non-deployed configuration do not extend beyond the perimeter boundary of the excretion impervious liner.

Abstract: A modular bedding system for small animal cages, comprising a plurality of typically washable, absorbent, rigid panels that are safe and appealing to the animal while insulating it from absorbed liquids. Each panel comprises a washable and soft outer layer, an absorbent inner layer, and a rigid central insert. In the preferred embodiment, the panel is symmetrical in that the absorbent inner layer is present on both sides of the rigid insert. The outer layer and the inner absorbent layer(s) can be taken apart and washed separately. The panels may be moved around or flipped, depending on the animal's toilet habits and/or the owner's decor and cage maintenance preferences. The panels may also comprise other features that may be pleasant to an animal, such as extra bedding, a hill, a pocket for burrowing, or other features.

Abstract: A pet waste collection apparatus having a drawstring within an outer peripheral border of the pet waste collection apparatus, the drawstring having a drawstring exit portion exiting the pet waste collection apparatus, the drawstring exit portion of the drawstring releasably fastened to a bottom corner portion of the pet waste collection apparatus, the pet waste collection apparatus adapted to form a shape of a bag when the drawstring exit portion of the drawstring is released from the bottom corner portion of the pet waste collection apparatus and the drawstring is pulled taut, the pet waste collection apparatus substantially enclosing and sealing pet waste within the pet waste collection apparatus when the drawstring is pulled taut. Alternative embodiments include a bifurcated exit sleeve, an alternate exit sleeve, and a tab, each adapted to adhesively and releasably fasten the drawstring exit portion to the bottom corner, and a leak protection barrier.

Abstract: The invention provides odor control systems having customizable aroma and malodor control compounds. In a general aspect, the odor control system includes a litter box and a programmable dissemination device attachable to the litter box. The programmable dissemination device is adaptable to receive at least one odor control cartridge and disseminate the contents of the cartridge. The odor control cartridge is a fragrance cartridge or a malodor counteractant cartridge insertable into the programmable dissemination device. Alternatively, the odor control cartridge can include a fragrance and a malodor counteractant in the same cartridge.

Abstract: A special bag or pad element containing Zeolite elements is placed under normal kitty litter or other animal waste containing materials. As the odor containing substances of the waste product are emitted, they are captured and eliminated by the Zeolite contained therein. It is possible to essentially eliminated cat and pet odors as well as to contain odors from barn animals. The results are amazing and the pets are healthier and the odors are gone. The waste products from this bag can be easily recycled in a garden since the contents are compatible with the soil and offer increased fertilization from the ammonium nitrate contained therein.

Abstract: In a method for containing a spilled liquid, a mat is provided onto a surface. The mat includes a liquid permeable upper layer disposed above a liquid impermeable lower layer, with a watertight adhesive securing the upper layer to the lower layer. The watertight adhesive defines one or more enclosed regions between the upper and lower layers. A vessel containing liquid can be placed on the mat, accessible by an animal or human, such that liquid spilled from the vessel falls onto the mat above the one or more enclosed regions. The spilled liquid permeates through the liquid permeable upper layer onto one or more enclosed regions, where the liquid impermeable lower layer prevents further vertical permeation of the liquid while the watertight adhesive that bounds the enclosed regions inhibits lateral permeation of the liquid. The spilled liquid is thereby contained in the enclosed regions onto which it was spilled.

Abstract: A fluid absorbent assembly includes a fluid absorbent material located in an animal cage or in a liner inserted into the cage. The fluid absorbent material may comprise or be combined with a material that absorbs or neutralizes noxious vapors. A fluid permeable animal support structure may be located over the fluid absorbent material. The fluid absorbent material, which may be contained in a pad, may be contained in a housing that also forms the animal support structure. In the event of a drinking valve leak or other fluid leak within the cage, the fluid absorbent material expands and raises any animals located within the cage.

Abstract: A portable pet urine reservoir is provided and includes a housing that defines a reservoir with a sloped basin with a plurality of polygonally shaped protrusions upwardly emanating from the basin. The polygonally shaped protrusions are of different heights to allow a permeable pad disposed on top of the polygonally shaped protrusions to lay approximately flat. An aperture disposed in the housing is also provided through which collected urine in the reservoir can be emptied. The portable pet urine reservoir further includes an additional reservoir, an additional basin, and an additional aperture which permits fluid communication between the reservoir and the additional reservoir. The portable pet urine reservoir also includes support structure, which upwardly extends from the additional basin.

Abstract: Herein described is a portable sanitation apparatus for pet waste disposal and method for using the same comprising an overall composite structure with a plurality of primary layers with one or more sublayers and an engagement means for attaching the two primary layers together.

Abstract: An animal litter box has a transverse direction, a longitudinal direction and a vertical direction and includes a lower container having an opening at an upper end thereof and allocated on the lower side, an upper side cover allocated above the lower container and a liquid passable litter tray interposed between the upper side cover and the lower container and cooperating with the lower container to close the opening. The lower container has an excrement tray provided so as to be manually movable in the longitudinal direction between a put-in position at which the excrement tray is set within the receiving space below the liquid passable litter tray and a drawn out position outside the receiving space and an end opening through which the excrement tray is put into or drawn out from the receiving space.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system toilet for dogs that can reduce wetting of dog feet and that dogs can appropriately use for excretion. The system toilet for dogs is provided with: an excretion receptacle having an excrement containing section that can contain excrement and at which an absorbent sheet can be disposed; and a water-absorbent, disposable, liquid-permeable panel that is disposed in a manner so as to cover the top of the excrement containing section. The thickness of the liquid-permeable panel is 3-25 mm, and the height from the bottom end of the excretion receptacle to the top surface of the liquid-permeable panel is no greater than 65 mm. Also, the system toilet for dogs is further provided with a support section that is disposed between the excrement containing section and the liquid-permeable panel, and that supports the liquid-permeable panel.

The unit has a fitted, removable cover or fold-back lid to enable the convenient shipping and disposal of the unit in its entirety. The pet toilet is used by the pet for a set period of time, at which point it is completely disposed of and replaced with a new one.
