Abstract: The invention relates to pet beds, and particularly with pet beds with a wall and a base encased in a fabric overcoat. Known pet beds have the disadvantage of needing a rimmed section to allow use by e.g., heavy dogs, and the further disadvantage that rimmed sections on walls formed from resilient materials generate high levels of waste. The object of the invention is to avoid this disadvantage, an objective met by a pet bed comprising a peripheral wall formed from a resilient material, the wall having a trapezium cross-sectional shape that diminishes in width from its upper to lower end.

Abstract: An orthopedic cushion for a support humans and animals, particularly domestic pets, includes a plurality of layers including a padding layer of slow recovery visco-elastic foam providing the orthopedic advantages of reducing pressure points and facilitating blood flow, a supporting padding layer of material which supports the slow recovery visco-elastic foam while providing additional loft and cushioning, a protective liner of a flexible waterproof yet breathable material protecting the padding from liquids of all nature, and a washable fabric cover. The pet bed of the present invention is orthopedic, washable, stain-resistant, hypoallergenic, and comfortable.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pet bed that includes a heating layer which is formed of an enclosure and a heating composition sealed inside the enclosure. The enclosure includes a gas-permeable section such that the heating composition generates heat when a gas is received through the gas-permeable section. The pet bed further includes (i) a liner attached to the heating layer to engage a pet as the pet lies on the pet bed; (ii) a conforming layer attached to the heating layer such that the conforming layer conforms to the shape of the pet as the pet lies on the pet bed; and/or (iii) a backing layer attached to the heating layer such that the backing layer restricts movement of the pet bed. The enclosure may further include a cover over the gas-permeable section such that the heating composition generates heat when the cover is removed from the enclosure.

Abstract: An animal soothing system including an animal bedding structure having a pocket formed therein, and a soothing device for generating soothing rhythmic vibrations disposed in the pocket of the bedding structure to communicate the soothing vibrations to animals lying on the bedding structure is provided. In one embodiment the bedding structure is a mattress or pad, and the soothing device is a battery powered heartbeat simulator with a pressure sensitiye switch to activate the simulator when an animal lies upon the bedding and deactivate the simulator when the animal rises from the bedding.

Abstract: A combination pet bed and carrying case includes a pet bed with a bottom cushion arrangement that is attachable to the top of a carrying case when the case serves as a support base for the pet bed. Abstract: A wall supported modular cat furniture structure is disclosed comprising a number of interconnecting components such as vertical posts, horizontal platforms, and base coupling which are press-fitted together to form an upright structure characterized by a central support post to which platforms connect and extend outward therefrom. The structure is positioned adjacent a flat wall or a corner wall surface and platform edges are securely attached to the supporting wall giving stability to the structure, added support to the platforms, and effectively restricting the movement of both. The structure, which satisfies the needs of cats to climb, scratch, and perch in elevated places, has carpet, sisal rope or other claw penetrable material covering exposed surfaces. Numerous other advantages are claimed herein including having lightweight, interchangeable components, a variety of height and configuration options, simple construction and assembly, vertical expandability and minimal space requirements for use.

Abstract: An improved warming bed for pets generates different temperatures on two opposite sides of the bed to warm different pets in different climate conditions. The warming bed includes an upper panel and a lower panel. The inner surfaces of the upper panel and the lower panel have corresponding coupling struts and stubs and at least one press strut to form a gap of a selected distance between the upper panel and the lower panel. A heating sheet is bonded to the inner surface of the lower panel (or the upper panel) and passes through the coupling struts and stubs. When the heating sheet is heated, the lower panel in contact with the heating sheet has a higher temperature than the upper panel which is remote from the heating sheet. Thus the two sides of the warming bed have different temperatures to meet different requirements.

A cushion is placed and held in the interior of the frame member, where the cushion preferably has a height substantially equal to or less than the height of the frame member. At least one harness strap is attached to a strap attachment point on the frame member. In one embodiment, a frame cover is removably mounted over the open top of the frame member.

It comprises bundles of fabric that are attached to a platform or attached directly to the ceiling of a kennel. The blanket fabric may be cotton, wool, a synthetic blend, or other suitable material, shaped into strands and gathered into bundles. The bundles of fabric hang down loosely from the ceiling or supporting platform, to within one to three inches from the floor of the kennel or animal stall. The bundles of fabric are spaced to allow the animal to move about freely in the kennel. At the same time, the bundles of fabric automatically provide a blanket that shelters the animal from the outside elements.
