Abstract: An animal feeding and watering cup system that can be used with any type of cage, crate or enclosure in order to provide food, water, medication or the like to an animal or an inhabitant of the cage, crate or other type of enclosure. The system comprises a cup wherein a plurality of brackets is located on the outer surface of the cup, a connector, and a cage, crate, or enclosure. In one embodiment, the system comprises a cup which is connected to a cage via a plurality of brackets receiving a connector which securely attaches the cup to the cage. In one embodiment, the system comprises a cup which is easily stacked.

Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter comprises a first quantizer arranged for yielding a first digital signal; an error signal generation block arranged for generating an error signal representative of a difference between an analog input signal and the first digital signal; an analog loop filter arranged for receiving the error signal; a second quantizer arranged for receiving an output signal of the analog loop filter and for outputting a second digital signal; a digital loop filter arranged for receiving the second digital signal and for providing an input signal to the first quantizer; and a recombiner block comprising a first recombination and a second recombination filter, and an adder circuit for adding outputs of the first and second recombination filters. The first and second recombination filters are selected to obtain an analog-to-digital converted output signal being less dependent on quantization noise caused by the first quantizer than a first digital signal.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to animal feeders and implements therefor that are configured to limit the waste of feed from the animal feeder. Preferably, such implements can be in the form of an apparatus that is attached to an existing gravity fed or assisted feed animal feeder for catching feed that would otherwise fall to the ground from a feed delivery structure of the animal feeder. Beneficially, by limiting wasting of feed, embodiments of the present invention reduce feed cost and reduce the presence of undesirable animals that would otherwise be attracted by wasted feed. Feed catch trays configured in accordance with embodiments of the present invention can also include structure for receiving and holding a dietary supplement article such as, for example, a block of minerals whose consumption is beneficial to animals being fed.

The receptacle includes one or more brackets forming a vacuous area for receiving the fence rail. Further, a method of mounting a feed bucket on a fence rail including the steps of providing a mountable feed bucket having a receptacle with a bracket for securing the mountable feed bucket to the fence rail; securing the mountable feed bucket to the fence by positioning the bracket about a fence rail so that the rail is within a vacuous area between the back receptacle wall and a portion of the bracket; inserting a pin through an aperture of the bracket a distance so that the pin rests securely upon the fence rail; and securing the pin through the aperture and against the fence rail.

Abstract: A revolving bird feeding assembly where bird food in a birdcage can be changed or added to without intrusion into the birdcage. This object is accomplished by the use of a bird feed cup mounted in a receptacle which is rotatably mounted in an opening of a side panel of the birdcage. The receptacle supports the bird feeding cup in the birdcage. When it is time to either change the bird food or add additional bird food to the bird feeding cup, a slide bolt is moved into a retracted position. In this position, the receptacle is allowed to rotate 180° so that the bird feeding cup is moved from a position inside of the birdcage to a position outside of the birdcage.

Abstract: A birdcage feeding device is provided with a seed chamber, seed cup, and method of attachment. The feeding device comprises an opening that may be opened or closed in order to displace seeds from a feeding chamber to fill a seed cup. The seed cup is designed to be shallow such that seeds do not get buried under layers of empty shells and hulls. The seed cup also has high rear and side walls to guard seeds from being scattered outside by birds. The feeding device may be closed to allow a user to remove the seed cup, without removing the device, for cleaning. A method of attachment is also described that allows the device to be on the outside of the birdcage while being secured from the inside of the cage, thus allowing for easy refilling of the device.

Abstract: A birdcage watering device is provided with a no-spill valve and method of attachment. The watering device comprises a valve attached to a water chamber comprising an extended leg such that when the watering device is completely assembled the valve may be displaced to fill trough. Particularly, the extended leg of the valve produces an angled opening to permit flow of water from the water chamber without clogging or getting “stuck” in the valve opening. The water chamber is easily removed for refilling and the valve is designed to prevent the spilling of water during the process. A method of attachment is also described that allows the device to be on the outside of the birdcage while being secured from the inside of the cage, thus allowing for easy refilling of the water chamber of the device.

Abstract: A removable bird cup feeder assembly is comprised of a dish holder and a cup shaped dish. The dish holder has a slide rail, a vertical stop member, a horizontal stop member and a cage displacement member. The slide rail fits into a tunnel formed on the dish by a flange and a wall of the dish. The stop members limit horizontal and vertical movement of the dish. The fit between the flange and the slide rail limits rotation of the dish. The dish has an embossed floor, radiused floor and wall intersections, and radiused top wall surfaces to enhance bird comfort and to facilitate cleaning of the dish. The assembly is installed within a cage. When the cage door is opened, the dish may be quickly removed and replaced. When the cage door is closed the dish cannot be displaced by a bird within the cage.

Abstract: A hanger design to which a conglomeration of seed, treat or other food product may be adhered and which can be easily Installed and effectively secured to most animal cages is provided. The hanger of the invention includes a shaft having a plate disposed at one end in a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the direction of the shaft. The plate has an outside surface formed with a pair of vertical ribs and an extending horizontal locking tab which together can be used to lock the hanger unit to a conventional animal cage.

Abstract: The bird feeder is a unique new birdcage attachment which provides bird owners the ability to automatically feed their birds at timed intervals. The unit could be manufactured in various sizes and colors and would consist of a hopper for storing birdseed, an exit funnel on the bottom, a user programmable electronic timing device, and a clear viewing panel on the side to determine when the seed reservoir had been depleted. The automatic feeder would also feature clamps or clips to make it easily attachable to the side of a birdcage. When the unit was enabled for feeding, birdseed would flow from the hopper, through the chute which would feature a motor driven rotating mill to ensure that the seed does not clump together, and out the exit funnel which is located above the bird's seed tray. The feeder would rely on battery power to drive the timer mechanism and the motor.

Abstract: A caged-animal entertainment assembly that chimes or rings in response to animal engagement of an attractant suspended in the animal cage wherein the attractant may be separated or decoupled from a chiming assembly so the movement of the attractant by the caged animal no longer generates a chiming sound. When the attractant is attached or coupled to the chiming assembly, the animal generates the chiming sound by moving the attractant which, in turn, moves a support that is connected to a striker. The striker strikes the chimes or a bell to create the chiming sound.

The openwork having a plurality of substantially longitudinal members attached to the base and arranged radially about a central axis. A feed container releasably coupled to the base is positioned interior the openwork and spaced-apart therefrom. At least two of the longitudinal members are spaced-apart one from the other such that certain birds can enter the openwork and access the feed container. The openwork can include a plurality of substantially horizontal members wherein at least two of the horizontal members are spaced-apart one from the other to allow certain birds to enter the openwork. The feed container being releasably coupled to the base allows the feed container to be easily removed from the openwork. The feed container can extend through an opening in the openwork for accessing the feed container exterior the openwork.

Abstract: An animal feeder and particularly a bird feeder having a construction that allows bird seed cakes of various ornamental designs to freely hang while providing a separate area for multiple visiting birds to perch. The grid-patterned perch hangs around the cake, thereby minimizing both premature destruction of the cake and obstructions to a view of the visiting birds and the decoratively shaped seed cake.

Abstract: A safe, non-toxic pet toy is provided which is adapted to be placed within the cage of a small captive animal. The pet toy is formed of materials which may be safely ingested by a small animal so that an animal may safely peck, chew, or gnaw on the toy. The toy is made of paper pulp molded to form a three dimensional representation of an object. A dye may be incorporated into the paper pulp to color the object or a non-toxic ink may be applied to a surface of the object to provide a more enticing and realistic appearance.

Abstract: A drinking apparatus for pets includes a mounting device for mounting, the mounting device having a C-shaped feeder holder and a positioning groove of T-shaped cross section disposed in the C-shaped feeder holder on the middle, and a water feeder mounted in the C-shaped feeder holder and adapted to provide a supply of water to pets, the water feeder having a peripheral top flange supported above the C-shaped feeder holder, and two locating rods of T-shaped cross section selectively engaged into the positioning groove.

Abstract: A water tank for supplying water to a caged animal includes a cylindrical container having an open upper end and a threaded lower neck opening. The upper opening is provided with a hinged, flip-top closure for easy filling, the closure being open to ambient air pressure. Joined to the lower neck opening is a dispenser assembly that includes a threaded cap received on the threaded neck, and dispenser tube extending obliquely from the bottom of the cap. Within the dispenser tube, a stainless steel valve assembly is secured, and a valve stem assembly extends to the lower opening of the dispenser tube. An animal may use its tongue to depress the valve stem assembly and cause a small amount of water to flow gravitally from the tank through the tube to the animal. The displaced liquid is replaced by air flowing into the non-sealed top opening, so that there is no retrograde air flow through the valve assembly to introduce contaminants.

Abstract: A device for providing water to young birds and fowl. The waterer is attached to a cage for the birds and includes a bottle which can be detached for cleaning or replacement and reattached when full without any spillage. The device also includes a removable piece for the prevention of drowning of certain types of game birds.

Abstract: A cage for receiving a multiple dosage feeder is provided. The multiple dosage feeder includes a food holding feeder member and a feeder housing member disposed in an opening in the cage. The food holding member holds a plurality of measured dosages of food or other substances, and at least a portion of the food holding member extends to the cage-interior side of the opening. A snap lock releasably secures the feeder housing member to the wall of the multiple dosage feeder. At least a portion of the food holding member is rotatable within the housing member so as to expose the single dosage of the plurality of dosages, while the housing member prevents access to any remaining dosages on the cage-interior side of the opening.

Abstract: This invention is a protected enclosure to allow upland game birds including bobwhite quail to be introduced into and to thrive in the wild with low mortality rate. This is accomplished through the use of an acclimation portion where the birds become used to feeding and watering in the protected enclosure while being allowed to ingress and egress between the acclimation portion and the feeding and watering portion. Provision is made for one or more call birds to be isolated after the acclimation period upon initial introduction into the wild. The call bird or birds can then be reunited with the covey. Commercially available cooked ration can be used which allows vitamins, minerals and other supplements to be added to the normal diet of the birds.

Abstract: A combination food and liquid dispenser for an animal cage including a first compartment and a second compartment being in vertical relation to each other. The second compartment is constructed to receive food therein and provide an animal access to the food item disposed therein and the first compartment is constructed to receive a liquid container therein and provide an animal with access to the liquid container disposed in the first compartment. A bracket assembly is affixed to the dispenser and supports the dispenser within the cage on less than four side walls thereof. A filter cap for the animal cage includes a body portion dimensioned to fit upon and cover over the top of the cage.

Abstract: A bird feeder for recapturing bird feed for re-use, the bird feeder including a feed reservoir for receiving bird feed and having a feeder opening, a trough coupled to the feed reservoir at the feed opening for receiving feed from the feed reservoir, and a recapture reservoir coupled to the feed reservoir for receiving and collecting uncontaminated bird feed displaced from the trough.

Abstract: A bird activity platform comprising a floor, a back board attached along an edge of the floor, the back board being constructed to permit its attachment to a vertical surface, a runway extending from the back board to the opposite edge of the floor and being raised above the level of the floor, the runway being constructed and arranged to act as a landing platform for a bird, a pole extending upwardly from the surface of the floor and having at its upper end a pair at least of horizontally extending perches subtending an angle between them, a seed feeder arranged at the end of the runway remote from the back board and shield means arranged around the end of the runway and the seed feeder to confine spilt seed to the area of the floor.

Abstract: A removable bird feeding bowl has an upper lip and a circumferential locking surface which is spaced below the upper lip. According to a first embodiment, the locking surface includes two diametrically opposed detents spaced below the upper lip of the bowl. The bowl may be used with an existing supporting ring by snapping the bowl into the ring. According to a second embodiment, the locking surface includes a helical ridge having the form of a screw thread. The bowl may be used with an existing supporting ring by placing the bottom of the bowl into the ring until the helical ridge engages the ring and then twisting the bowl so that the helical ridge makes a screw-like connection with the supporting ring. The upper lip of the bowl stops the bowl from rotating through the ring. According to a third embodiment, a removable bird feeding bowl and support ring assembly is provided.

Abstract: A feeder for mounting on an interior wall of a cage is disclosed. The feeder includes a clamping mechanism for clamping onto a wall of a cage, and an extension bar extending from the clamping mechanism to the interior of the cage, and a receptacle which holds a feeder cup affixed at the interior end of the extension bar. By positioning the feeder cup away from a wall of the cage, the extension bar of the invention provides numerous advantages. Positioning the feeder cup away from a cage wall prevents the scattering of feed outside of a cage, improves the ability of a watcher to watch feeding, and improves the accessibility of the feeder cup for easy removal and replacement of the feeder cup.

Abstract: A water drinking device for pets comprises a vessel provided at the top thereof with a cap having a ventilation hole. The vessel is further provided at the lower end thereof with a slanted bottom so as to ensure that the water outlet is located at a level higher than the bottom end of the vessel and that the water flowing out of the water outlet is free from impurities. The vessel is further provided peripherally at different levels thereof with a plurality of locating slots, each of which is provided respectively at both ends thereof with a locating recess engageable with a locating projection of the retaining arm of a vessel hanger.

Abstract: A bird enclosure is constructed from two interengaging sections 1 and 7 which are nested within one another to create a cavity between the overlapping side walls 2 and 8. This cavity provides a space to receive a feed tube 17 leading from a water reservoir 15 down to a feed valve which projects into the interior of the enclosure. The front wall of the enclosure will be a mesh panel through which the birds can be viewed.

Abstract: An avian feeding device has a bird cage of the wire mesh type and a feeding tray that includes a bifurcated backing member with a mounting space provided between a front sheet portion and a rear web portion. The cage has a rectangular opening formed in a wire mesh, vertical wall by cutting away an adjacent plurality of its vertical wires. The tray mounts to the cage through such opening with downward movement to bring a horizontal wire of such mesh, vertical wall into the mounting space. No handles or like protrusions are needed to assist in removing the tray for service since it may be removed from the cage simply by applying upward pressure to the lower section of the rear web portion of the backing member and withdrawing the tray through the rear mesh wall opening which is of sufficiently small size that birds contained in the cage can not escape even with the feeding tray removed from the cage.
