  • Patent number: 7117824
Abstract: A garment for the transporting, observing, entertaining, training, and displaying of small animals, reptiles and insects (gerbils, mice, snakes, tarantulas, spiders, lizards, etc.) in the tunnels of the garment while on the shoulders of their owners. The garment consists of a see-through, mesh washable fabric panel on top and a brightly colored washable panel underneath, attached to each other using releasable fasteners. The fasteners also provide means to construct tunnel walls and nesting areas for the small animal. The fasteners further provide attachment to the garment tunnel's floor and walls for toys and other paraphernalia to entertain the pet and adorn the garment. This garment allows the owner to hold, observe, and transport his pet without damaging or soiling his clothes while his pet has a tunnel in which to play and rest safely. Also the owner can remove toys, food and nesting material in order to launder the garment.

Abstract: A new and improved multi-function pet carrier (12) comprising a flexible panel (1) overlapped perpendicularly by a flexible panel (2). One of the flexible panels (1) can be formed into pockets (8a,b) for carrying needed articles. The other flexible panel (2) can be cushioned. Corners of the panels are connected with adjustable straps (9a,b). Strap combinations are fixed to what are normally corners of the panels (1,2) to form said pet carrier (12) for wearing in a horizontal position on a bearer's body adjacent to an abdomen, a back, over a shoulder, over a shoulder across bearers torso to hip and by a hand. Rings (18a,b) threaded over straps provide tightening of panels to pet's body. Securing straps over a car seat paralled and flush to car seats back (14) provide secure travel for a pet. A Hook and loop type fastener (7) on the pocketed panel (1) provide additional restraint to the pet (11) from shifting in the pet carrier (12).

  • Publication number: 20030127060
Abstract: A pet carrier having series of interconnected panels and removable stiffening members forming a flexible pet enclosure that can be carried by a pet owner or secured in a vehicle for transport. As the support members are semi-rigid, the roof of the enclosure may be resiliently deformed as needed, such as for placing the carrier under a passenger airline seat. Removal of the support members allows a user to collapse the pet carrier to a substantially flat configuration. The pet carrier may be carried by a pet owner via a six-point shoulder strap system that is capable of levelling the carrier during use. The pet carrier also has several openings to provide ventilation and a compartment that communicates with the inside of the carrier for inserting an air conditioning pad.
