Abstract: The door system disclosed herein includes a frame and a door fabricated from a plurality of horizontal and vertical wire rods. The door may have an inverted hook which is aligned to a horizontal wire rod of the frame when the door is pivoted to the closed position. To close the door, the door is dropped so that the horizontal wire rod of the frame is traversed into the inverted hook. At this point, the animal inside of the pet crate cannot open the door by pushing the door. Rather, the door must be raised so that the inverted hook clears the horizontal wire rod of the frame to pivot the door to the opened position.

Abstract: A dual-purpose container and diversion device for animals includes a base and a perimeter wall attached to the base. An inner surface and outer surface of the container combine to form an overall surface. The device includes at least a linear fault region in the overall surface having a lesser tensile strength and including at least a first non-intersecting open curve forming a first planar section; the at least a linear fault region may include at least a second curve defining a bracing component. The device is convertible to a second configuration forming a diversion device for an animal, by fracture of the at least a linear fault region to form at least a first flap and rotation of the at least a flap into a second position; conversion may include movement of the at least a bracing component to support the at least a flap in the second position.

Abstract: A disposable and multiconfigurational animal habitat for obtaining physiological measurements of a small mammal is provided. The habitat includes a disposable and vertically oriented tower having a top, middle, and a bottom section. The tower includes a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber is sized, shaped, and configured to house the small mammal and is disposed in the top section of the tower. A first instrumentation platform is disposed in the first chamber and configured to support the small mammal. The second chamber is also sized, shaped, and configured to house the small mammal and disposed underneath the first instrumentation platform. A second instrumentation platform disposed in the second chamber and configured to support the small mammal. The habitat can be assembled from a kit comprising sheet of foldable disposable material having cut-outs and fold lines that can be folded to form the tower of the habitat.

Abstract: A foldable and portable grilling unit includes a body and a plurality of upright corner leg members which together support the body spaced above a support surface. The body has front and back walls and opposite side walls extending between them so as to form a grilling chamber when the body is in an erected operational configuration. The side walls each are formed by a pair of panels, inner hinged connections between the panels of each pair, and outer hinged connections of the panels of each pair to the front and back walls. The panels of each side wall may be folded to convert the body to a compacted portable configuration in which it may be transported in a container sleeve by a user.

Abstract: A portable shelter includes a plurality of planar wall sections configured to form an enclosure constructed from corrugated fiberboard material. Each wall section includes an inner panel, an outer panel, and a fillable region interposed between that can be filled with insulating material. Each wall section includes a set of extensions on a first edge and a complementary set of extensions on the other edge. The extensions of one wall section are configured join with the extensions from another wall section to form a joint. A roof is created by stacking a plurality of roof sections formed from joining the non-parallel sides of a plurality of trapezoidal roof panels.

Abstract: A collapsible pet containment apparatus with foldable side walls to enable selective containment of a pet. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a pet containment apparatus that can be configured from an extended position to a folded position. The apparatus may have a fabric perimeter defining a bottom and side walls terminating around an upper frame perimeter. The upper frame perimeter may be selectively lowered to allow independent entrance and exit from an interior portion of the apparatus, defined by the fabric perimeter, by a pet such as a dog.

The top frame and the two side frames are movable upon release of the first and second locking corner braces from a first, extended position, to a second, collapsed position. Only bottom end portions of the first and second side frames contact the bottom panel.

The end walls and side walls of the container are load bearing elements having a twinned wall structure made of rotomolded plastic. The container is collapsed by removing the side walls and inwardly folding the end walls to draw the roof closer to the base. The load bearing capacity of the end walls and the side walls can be increased by arched indentations formed within the twinned wall structure.

A pair of sidewalls may be provided each of which may be pivotally attached to the roof. The sidewalls may include at least two side section such as an upper and middle section. The sidewalls may also include a lower side section. The upper and middle sections may be pivotally attached to one another and the middle and lower side section may be pivotally attached to one another so that the upper and middle sidewall sections can be pivoted inwardly towards the bottom platform to provide a collapsed condition. The pet crate is collapsible to a folded, flat condition by unlatching the front panel and stowing it along the inside of the top panel and releasing latches between the top and back panels and the side panels. The side panels, back panel and top panel can then be collapsed inwardly onto one another to form a generally flat, stowed configuration for the pet crate.

Abstract: A pet transportation device is provided. The pet transportation device is provided whereby the device is easily adaptable to a mobile unit including a bicycle, scooter and/or motorcycle. In an exemplary embodiment, the pet transportation device has at least a wire basket carrier which is adapted to placement and holding of the pet during transport and at least a cover portion which encloses about the head portion of the pet and may be adapted for folding when not desired by the individual. The basket may be removably attached to at least a portion of the handlebars of a mobile unit by a clamping means and may have padded rail support incorporated thereon. Additionally, the pet transport device may additionally have a liner and/or cushion to protect the limbs of the animal from protruding away from the pet transport device.

The shelter may be used as a stand-alone shelter, but it may also be placed over a pet container in order to make the container quieter.

Abstract: An animal carrier for installation into an automotive seat is described. The animal carrier has a frame that is formed by the attachment of the bottom edge of a substantially vertical back panel to the back facing edge of a substantially horizontal floor panel, and the further attachment of a spine to both the top edge of the vertical back panel and the forward facing edge of the floor panel. The enclosure of the animal carrier can be formed by the attachment of two side panels, and optionally a front panel, to the frame. The animal carrier can be mounted onto an automotive seat by the passage of an installation belt though a belt path or channel formed through either the back or floor panel.

Abstract: An animal carrier for mounting above the rear wheel of a cycle such as a motorcycle may be obtained by converting a motorcycle luggage carrier to an animal carrier. The motorcycle carrier mounts and bottom section may be equipped with a detachable top section equipped with extended sidewalls ported with ventilating ports and roofed canopy to protect the transported animal from the elements.

Abstract: A modular animal enclosure includes a housing comprising a top portion affixed to a base portion to form a sheltered interior. The housing includes a door aperture and a climate conditioning aperture. A remove ably attachable climate conditioning unit is installed over the climate conditioning aperture to facilitate a flow of atmospheric air from the exterior environment into the interior of the housing. The climate conditioning unit can variously comprise a cover assembly, a heating unit, a cooling unit and a forced air unit, and different types of units can be installed at different times. In another aspect, the bottom portion can be selectively hinged to the top portion on opposing sides of the housing to allow pivotal movement of the top portion in two opposite directions, as desired to permit access to the interior of the housing for inspection, maintenance and cleaning of the interior.
