Releasing Apparatus Patents (Class 119/772)
  • Patent number: 11895987
Abstract: A remotely operable quick release is provided that may be placed between a collar or harness to release an animal or object. A nylon strap with a D-ring on one end attaches to a holding device. On the other end supports a flip latch attached to a harness. The release mechanism on the top of the strap includes a push pull piston solenoid. A metal slider urged by the solenoid holds prevents the flip latch from releasing. When the solenoid is activated the piston and slider pull back to release the flip latch. The solenoid is operated with a wireless remote control receiver transmitter key fob. When the button is push it activates the solenoid which pulls the piston and slider back to free the flip latch. Resetting the flip latch is accomplished by pushing down on the slider and allowing the piston to slide forward to re-engage.

Abstract: An animal training device that can be used to confine an animal during training, as well as methods for its use, is described. Embodiments of the present invention comprise a marginally unstable base that makes the device prone to rocking or toppling when physically disturbed by the movement of an animal in the device. Animals usually find the rocking or toppling unpleasant. An advantage of the animal training device is that an animal receives negative feedback from its undesirable behavior (excessive movement in or straining against the device) in the absence of disciplinary action by a human trainer. Additional advantages of the confining animal training device include, but are not limited to, reducing physical stress on a human trainer and decreasing the time required to train an animal.

Abstract: An animal leash system includes a leash of flexible material having near and far ends, and a belt arranged to be worn about a person's body. A connector is fastened to the belt for operation by the person while wearing the belt. A handle is formed at the near end of the leash, and the handle is engageable with the connector on the belt. The far end of the leash is fastened to an animal collar. An associated restraining strap is fixed to the leash and is arranged for securing about an anchored object such as a tree or post. Thus, the person can (I) secure the restraining strap about the object before disengaging the leash handle from the connector on the belt, and (ii) engage the leash handle with the belt connector before releasing the restraining strap from the object. • Patent number: 6230663
Abstract: A quick release leash assembly for releasable attachment to an animal collar. The leash assembly comprises an elongate, flexible strap having opposed first and second ends. Attached to the second end of the strap is a latch mechanism which is releasably engagable to the animal collar. The latch mechanism has a latch member which is moveable between a locked position whereat the latch mechanism is maintainable in attachment to the animal collar, and a release position whereat the animal collar is detachable from the latch mechanism. Mechanically coupled to the latch mechanism is a release mechanism of the leash assembly which is operative to selectively move the latch member from the locked position to the release position subsequent to the application of a tensile force thereto.

  • Patent number: 5806469
Abstract: A releasable honda for lariat ropes has a heel with a throat through which the rope passes, with a tapered throat end forming a cavity for containing a knot in the rope; teeth and/or ridged projections inside the throat retain the rope in position. An axis of the throat is at an angle to a centerline through the heel. Resilient arms extend from the heel at angle to the centerline axis of the heel, and curve toward each other so that the distal ends of the arms almost meet, defining a slit between the arms. Tapered surfaces on the end of each resilient arm cooperate to form a shallow V-shaped indentation on an inner surface of the eye to guide rope into the slit so that a strong pull will force the rope through the slit, releasing the loop; a similar indentation on the outer perimeter of the eye facilitates slipping the rope back into the eye to reform a lasso.

  • Patent number: 5771843
Abstract: An apparatus for tying a horse includes a base and a break-away tie element mounted releasably to the base. The base is mounted to a wall and includes a pair of gripping members that are spring-biased against opposite sides of a mounting portion of the tie rod. The spring tension applied to the mounting portion is selectively adjustable. When a horse whose rein is tied to a ring portion of the tie element rears up in a manner applying a sufficient force in a direction tending to pull the mounting portion from the base, the springs will yield, allowing this to occur. Thus, serious injury to the horse is prevented.
