Abstract: The application of cold or warm applied directly to the underside of an animal/pet/dog's neck where blood vessels run close to the skin can aid in the cooling or warming of the pet/dog's body temperature thereby making the animal/pet/dog more comfortable in warmer/cooler temperatures. My invention creates an easy to use pouch that can hold a cooling or warming medium like manufactured ice cubes, gel or other medium, and slips over the animal/pet/dog's regular collar. This device enables the cooling or warming medium to stay securely against the underside of the animal/pet/dog's neck. This allows the coldness/warmth produced by the cooling/warming medium in the pouch to transfer to the animal/pet/dog's body, lowering the animal/pet/dog's body temperature making the pet/dog more comfortable in hot/cold temperatures.

  • Patent number: 7677206
Abstract: A boot (10) for enclosing a foot of a quadruped up to, but not including, a carpal or tarsal joint (32), made generally of a first flexible material (14) with a slit (16) forming an opening for inserting the foot. A lower portion of the first flexible material forms a toe box (20). An upper portion of the toe box is formed of a second flexible material (12A, 12B) that is more elastic than the first flexible material, such as an elastic fabric. The elastic fabric allows the toes to flex downward at the end of each step, then pulls them upward to prevent them from curling under the foot on the next step. An upper retainer (16) may be provided on an upward extension strap (15). The upper retainer loops around the leg above the carpal or tarsal joint (32) to provide vertical retention of the boot.

Abstract: The present invention is a water-absorbent animal cooling vest made with an inner core of woven, hydrophilic/hydrophobic polymer embedded fabrics (PEF) enclosed inside two exterior (a wicking fabric inside to the body and a breathable fabric outside to the air) fabric shells attached to the animal by criss-crossing two double-ended, elastic and adjustable hook straps over the rear of the animal's neck, which straps are then attached to sewn-on loops on the upper and lower parts of the vest. The vest is soaked in approximately 3-16 ounces of water (depending on the size of the vest and the size of the animal for which is to be used) for 3-15 minutes (again depending on size of vest) before use, thus allowing the inner core to absorb the water. This process begins the vest's evaporative process. The internal core fibers of the vest absorb many times its weight in water. Excess water is wrung out of the vest prior to installation.

Abstract: A canine protective suit comprising a face mask, a upper body protector and a lower body protector, wherein the face mask is removably secured to the upper body protector, and wherein the lower body protector is removably secured to the upper body protector. The upper body protector comprises elastic bands, wherein the elastic bands secure at least two front leg panels. Similarly, the lower body protector comprises elastic bands, wherein the elastic bands secure at least two back leg panels. To use, a canine's two front legs are placed into the two front leg panels as the upper body protector is placed on the canine. Similarly, the canine's rear legs are inserted into the back leg panels as the lower body protector is installed on the canine. The face mask is then disposed on the canine's face and secured to the upper body protector.

Abstract: A protective garment for livestock, such as a horse, has a first portion and a second portion defining a planar sheet of material. The first portion substantially covers a left leg and shoulder of the livestock, while the second portion substantially covers a right leg and shoulder of the livestock. The garment can comprise a one-piece protective cover or a two-piece protective cover. In one embodiment, the first portion and the second portion are connected to each other by an attachment member extending across a back of the livestock. In use, the protective garment is sufficiently secured to the livestock to protect it from undesirable external elements, such as insects and sunlight, yet somewhat loose to allow the livestock to freely move while wearing the garment.
