Abstract: A grass trimmer includes a trimmer head, a driving device, and an operating device. The trimmer head includes a spool and a head housing. The driving device includes a motor. The grass trimmer has an automatic winding mode in which the motor drives the spool or the head housing to cause the spool and the head housing to rotate relatively so as to wind the trimmer line onto the spool. The grass trimmer further includes a winding switch for controlling the automatic winding mode to be enabled, an operating assembly for controlling the winding switch to be opened, and a locking mechanism. When the operating assembly is operated, the locking mechanism is able to lock the head housing or the spool and the winding switch is triggered so as to cause the head housing and the spool to rotate relatively.
Abstract: A starting device for a combustion engine includes a housing relative to which a rope pulley, a spring housing and an entrainer can rotate about a rotation axis. A coupling unit produces a rotationally-fixed connection between the rope pulley and the spring housing in response to a rotational movement of the rope pulley in a starting direction. The spring housing has a spring receiving space for a tension spring and is connected to an entrainer by the spring. The coupling unit has a first coupling element and a second coupling element, which interact at a contact location which is at a spacing (d) to the rotation axis and is at least as large as the maximum spacing (c) of the tension spring to the rotation axis.
Abstract: In order to create a starter device (100) for an internal combustion engine of a manually guided engine unit, wherein the device comprises a housing (10) and a cable drum (11) which can be rotated relative to the housing (10) about a rotational axis with a starter pull for starting the engine, and has a recoil spring space (14), which is arranged between the housing (10) and the cable drum (11), for a recoil spring (13), in order to move the cable drum (11) into its original position after a rotational movement of the starter, wherein sealing of the recoil spring space (14) is provided, which starter device on the one hand prevents dirt from penetrating into the recoil spring space and on the other hand has a simple design, it is proposed that the seal (15) is spaced apart radially from the rotational axis (X) to such an extent that the recoil spring space (14) is formed by a wall (16) of the cable drum (11) and an approximately opposite wall (17) of the housing (10).
Abstract: A slide locking motorcycle kick arm with a foot pedal and a kick arm shaft that is attachable to an engine kick starter, where the foot pedal can rotate to be in the kick start position and rotated out of the way when kick starting is completed. The foot pedal can be locked in either position, only when the foot pedal slides to the end of the kick arm shaft, and can be locked in the rotated position.
Abstract: A straddle-type vehicle that omits a main switch without requiring a special operation to start the engine when battery power is supplied to engine-related electrical components. An electrical circuit has a pickup sensor that detects that the engine is in a start preparation state. An ECU connects an ignition coil, injector and fuel pump with the battery when the start preparation state is detected.
Abstract: An engine starter for preventing undesirable noises is disclosed, which is applicable to a vehicle employing an idle stop system. The starter comprises a starter motor; a traction-drive type reduction gear connected to the starter motor and positioned between the starter motor and a driven shaft of the engine; and a torque transmitting device via which the reduction gear and the driven shaft are linked.
Abstract: A starting device has a rotary drive member that is operable by hand or power devices. The device has a detented or geared strip arranged to engage with a similarly detented or geared starting wheel. The teeth of these parts are designed to grab and lock with each other in the starting direction and to slip past each other in the opposite direction. Crimping, sticking and other failure modes of conventional wind up rope units are virtually eliminated. A more consistent pull is afforded owing to a constant radius interface with the starter wheel rather than a diminishing radius of the type delivered by a wound rope.
