  • Patent number: 8215278
Abstract: An internal combustion engine having a cylinder, a fuel-supply mechanism, and an elastic connector for connecting the fuel supply mechanism to the cylinder. The connector has a first channel for fuel/air mixture and a second channel for combustion air. The connector has a first connection end and a second connection end at which the two channels open out. The two channels are separated from one another by a partition that extends in the longitudinal direction of the channels. The partition is twisted about its longitudinal central axis between the first and second connection ends to achieve a great elasticity of the connector. To produce the elastic connector, a respective core is used for each channel, and the cores are moved relative to one another to enable removal of the connector from a mold.

  • Patent number: 8051846
Abstract: Through holes formed on an atomization pipe can prevent fuel adhering on inner walls of the through holes from escaping. In addition, when fuel adhering on an inner circumferential surface of the atomization pipe flows toward a downstream side, the fuel enters the through holes. Thus, the fuel can be confined therein. Furthermore, an absorbing member can absorb the fuel that has adhered to a downstream inner wall of the atomization pipe and flows toward the downstream side. Moreover, a periphery of the intake passage hole of a gasket protrudes from the inner wall, so that flow of the fuel that the absorbing member fails to absorb toward the downstream side can be blocked. Accordingly, a rapid increase in the amount of fuel flowing into the engine body can be reliably prevented. Therefore, fluctuation in the number of revolutions of the engine can be sufficiently restrained.

Abstract: A fuel injector (10) for an internal combustion engine (88) includes a centerbody (12) and a casing (14) disposed radially outward of the centerbody to define an annular mixing section (16) between the centerbody and the casing. The fuel injector also includes an air inlet (e.g., 18) of the mixing section for injecting a first portion (22) of combustion air into the mixing section. A fuel inlet (32) is disposed in the centerbody for injecting fuel (34) into the mixing section. A fuel conduit (48) disposed in the centerbody conducts the fuel to the fuel inlet and a valve (50) disposed in the fuel conduit selectively controls fuel injection into the mixing section. The valve may be positioned sufficiently close to the fuel inlet to provide the desired accurate timed injection. Abstract: Through holes formed on an atomization pipe can prevent fuel adhering on inner walls of the through holes from escaping. In addition, when fuel adhering on an inner circumferential surface of the atomization pipe flows toward a downstream side, the fuel enters the through holes. Thus, the fuel can be confined therein Furthermore, an absorbing member can absorb the fuel that has adhered to a downstream inner wall of the atomization pipe and flows toward the downstream side.

Abstract: A fuel is aerated in a fuel supply and gasification system for more efficient combustion in a combustion chamber. The gasification system includes a mixing device for mixing a liquid fuel with at least one gas. A gas source feeds the gas to a gas feeding nozzle and through the nozzle further to the mixing device, wherein the gas is mixed with the liquid fuel for forming a liquid fuel/gas bubbles mixture. A low-pressure fuel pump connected with the mixing device by a liquid fuel supply line feeds liquid fuel from a fuel reservoir to the mixing device at pressure P1 higher than the gas pressure P2. A prepared liquid fuel/gas bubbles mixture is fed into a high-pressure fuel pump where the liquid fuel/gas bubble mixture get compressed to the state of homogeneous liquid and further is injected into a combustion chamber for instance of internal combustion engine at a pressure P4 that is higher than a pressure P3 in the combustion chamber at the moment of injecting fuel in it.
