Moisture resistance is provided by a plastic sheet, which may be larger than the coiled handbill, that wraps the handbill along its length prior to insertion.

Abstract: Apparatus for storing and discharging gas includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet. A floating differential piston is mounted to reciprocate in the housing and divide the housing into a storage chamber adjacent the housing inlet and a discharge chamber adjacent the housing outlet. A check valve in the housing inlet admits gas to the storage chamber. A conduit extends through the piston from the storage chamber to the discharge chamber. A pressure relief valve in the conduit is set to maintain a higher pressure in the storage chamber than in the discharge chamber. A first sliding seal is disposed between the housing and an end of the piston adjacent the housing inlet. A second sliding seal is disposed between the housing and an end of the piston adjacent the housing outlet.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pneumatic toy gun which may include a cylinder having an open end and an outlet, a piston disposed within the open end of the cylinder, and a valve having a valve inlet and a discharge outlet. The valve may have a normal position wherein the discharge outlet is sealed to prevent the flow of air through the discharge outlet, and an open position wherein the discharge outlet is unsealed to permit the flow of air through the discharge outlet, with the outlet of the cylinder being in fluid communication with the valve inlet. The pneumatic toy gun may further include a pressure gauge in fluid communication with the outlet of the cylinder and the valve inlet, with the pressure gauge having a cavity with a fluid disposed therein, and the cavity having a transparent portion through which the fluid is visible.

  • Patent number: 6604518
Abstract: A self-contained non-lethal munition system is provided for use with a shoulder launcher. A barrel is coupled to a breech end of the launcher and is coaxially aligned therewith. A solid sphere having a hardness in the range of approximately 50 durometer is pressure sealed in the barrel. Launch pressure is supplied aft of the sphere. The launch pressure must overcome the sphere's pressure seal with the barrel and propel the sphere with a kinetic energy of between approximately 135-220 Joules/cm2 for distances up to approximately 30 meters.

Abstract: An air gun includes an air pump with a pumping piston mounted to reciprocate within a pump cylinder, which is mounted on the barrel of the gun to pivot about an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the barrel so that as the pump cylinder is moved back and forth around the pivot, the cylinder and piston reciprocate relative to each other to pump air into a high pressure housing carried by the pump cylinder. A discharge conduit is also provided for releasably connecting the high pressure to the breach end of the barrel when the pump is moved toward the barrel. A firing valve in the discharge conduit releases air from the high pressure housing in to the breach end of the barrel.

Abstract: A ball launching device which eliminates the need for golf clubs so that disabled individuals can play golf without having to swing a golf club. The ball launching device is configured in the form of the rifle so that it can be carried by a player while the player is walking or riding a golf cart. Alternatively, the golf ball launcher can take any suitable shape in addition to that of a rifle. A preferred version of the golf ball launcher uses a piston assembly that impacts a golf ball and shoots it toward a golf green. The golf ball can be caught on the golf green by a container, or by a receptacle or net which is integrated with the flag pole on the golf green. Alternatively, the player in use the golf ball launcher until the ball reaches the green, and at that point the player can use a conventional putter while on the golf green.
