Abstract: A smoking article provides a purchased, as-built cigar that can be disassembled to form multiple cigars, enabling a consumer to make his or her own cigars using custom tobacco filler. The as-built cigar is capped as part of its construction, preferably at one end or at both ends. A smoker removes the cap or caps to enable smoking of the as-built cigar or disassembly into layers. Each layer can then be rolled with a smoker's custom tobacco. The inner layer contains tobacco filler. Upon disassembly, the inner layer and tobacco filler can be smoked. Alternatively, the inner layer can be pulled apart at a provided serration to discard the tobacco filler and then filled and rolled with a smoker's custom tobacco filler material.

A viewing window created in the cigar case is aligned with the vial such that the fluid in the vial is visible through the viewing window.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for cutting away a portion of a cigarette and storing the remaining portion of the cigarette. In one embodiment, the apparatus has a housing having a first interior compartment for storing a cigarette and a second interior compartment that is separate and sealed off from the first interior compartment. The housing has a first end that defines openings to the first and second interior compartments and a second end that defines an opening only to the second interior compartment. The housing has an exterior wall that is a part of the second interior compartment. The exterior wall has first and second openings that are located between the first and second ends of the housing. The second opening in the exterior wall is adjacent to the second end of the housing and is sized to receive a portion of a cigarette. The apparatus includes a cutting device movably positioned within the second interior compartment.

Abstract: A device to process cigarette butts has top and bottoms sections, one pivotably mounted on the other for rocking movement between open and closed positions. The bottom section has two access holes which are opened and closed by the rocking movement. When the holes are open, a user can insert a butt into one access hole and then can rock the top section, thus cutting the butt into a filter tip, and tobacco and paper materials. The tobacco and paper materials fall through a passage from the one access hole to the ground but do not cause a litter problem since they quickly biodegrade. The filter tips can be inserted into the second access hole into a storage space for later treatment and disposal. The bottom section has a thinned rear portion which allows increased rocking amplitude while minimizing the device thickness.

A smoker can simply cut an unfinished cigarette or smoking material with the cutting means and place it in the sealed storage compartment for later use. The sealed storage compartment may be inserted into a box or pack of cigarettes.

Abstract: A receptacle for extinguishing and storing spent smoking items, namely cigarette or cigar butts, comprising a container and a cap connected to the container for receiving and storing the butts. The cap contains a porous snuffing tube formed within and through the cap and an odor absorbent material contained within the cap. The odor absorbent material absorbs the smoke and odors emitted from the butt when it is being extinguished within the snuffing tube. Once the spent smoking item is extinguished within the tube it is then released into the container.

A cigarette is stored inside of the housing and cap member by fitting the annular member over a cigarette and then connecting the housing to the cap member via the annular member. A blade element is coupled to the housing and the housing has a blade slot for allowing entrance of the blade element into a housing cavity. To stop smoking a partially smoked cigarette, the burning end of the cigarette is inserted into the housing and the burning end of the cigarette is cut of with the blade element. To expel the cut off end of the cigarette, the cover member is removed from the housing allowing the cut off end to exit the housing.

Each of the cigar cutting members is slidably positioned in one of the slots such that the cutting edges are positioned substantially opposite one another in the hollow cap. A handle portion is preferably hinged to the cutting portion of each of the cigar tip cutting members, with each handle portion being positioned outside of the cap. The handle portions are preferably provided with a gripping tip for facilitating manual movement of the cigar tip cutting member in relation to the cap. The cap preferably has a pair of recesses formed in an outer wall thereof.

A cutter element is secured in a second end of the tubular body. The cutter element has first and second opposed side elements and a cutting member, or knife, pivotally engaged between the first and second side members. The first and second side members define an opening for receiving the end of the cigar. The cutting member is pivotally rotated from a first, or open, position to a second, or closed, position in an arcuate manner through the opening, whereby the end of the cigar is cut.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cigar holder provided with a detachable tip-cutting knife and a plug-removing member inside a cap of the holder. The knife has an inwardly extending portion and exterior portion hinged together and secured within a slot formed in the cap. The exterior portion lies flat in the recess formed in the cap, while the interior portion extends perpendicularly to the exterior portion, transversely to the cap opening. The plug-removing member is fixedly attached to the interior of the cap. It is adapted to pierce through the end of the cigar and remove a small portion of the cigar thereby forming a distinct channel for penetration of the tobacco smoke to the end of the cigar.

Abstract: A finger-operated refuse-retaining cigar head cutter comprising a body member, an opening in one side of the body member sized to permit insertion of a cigar head to be cut, and refuse-retention structure in the body member opposite said opening, a cutting blade track in the body member, and a finger-operated cutting blade slidably disposed and retained in the track, the finger-operated cutting blade being moveable from an extended position to a closed position between the opening and the refuse-retention structure, whereby, upon inserting a cigar head into the opening and into the refuse-retention structure and cutting the head of the cigar by bringing the finger-operated cutting blade from an extended position into the closed position, the cigar head is cut and refuse from cutting the cigar head is retained in the refuse-retention structure by the cutting blade until the cutting blade is moved out of the closed position.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a plug from the end of a cigar comprises a housing having a hollow body portion with opposite first and second ends. The first end of the hollow body portion has a cutting edge for cutting a portion of a cigar wrapper at the end of a cigar prior to smoking. A spring-biased plunger is movable within the hollow body portion first end along a longitudinal axis thereof toward and away from the cutting edge. An elongated piercing member is attached to, and movable with, the plunger. A handle is accessible from the exterior of the housing for moving the plunger within the hollow body portion first end. The cutting edge is adaptable to cut a portion of a cigar wrapper at the end of a cigar to create a plug of the cut portion of the cigar, which plug remains at least in part within the hollow body portion first end, and the handle is operable to move the plunger toward the cutting edge to eject the plug from the housing.

Abstract: An improved cigar cutter capable of cutting a cylindrical plug from the end of a cigar is described. The cigar cutter includes a sharpened cylindrical blade slidably mounted on a cylindrical mandrel. The cylindrical blade has a radial orifice adjacent to its upper end sized to permit a ball bearing to extend partially through the orifice. The mandrel includes a helical groove extending about the circumference of the mandrel. The helical groove is sized to receive a portion of the ball bearing when the cylindrical blade is mounted on the mandrel. A cylindrical cover is provided having an inside diameter only slightly greater than the outside diameter of the cylindrical blade and a rectilinear slot extending downwardly from the top of the cover. The cover slides over the cylindrical blade with the radially outer portion of the protruding ball bearing being seated in the rectilinear slot. At least one spring-loaded pin and matching orifice is provided to retain the cover in position over the cylindrical blade.

Abstract: A smoking accessory which functions as a cigar hole punch. The implement contains a hidden and detachable cigar hole punch and puncturing awl. The outward or exterior element of the device serves as a storage compartment for housing the puncturing awl and cigar hole punch when they are not in use. The implement itself should be manufactured of a material which enables a user to display the implement as an item of jewelry. Such an implement serves the dual purpose of denoting status for the user as well as providing the user with a useful device for cutting or otherwise opening the sealed end of a cigar.

Abstract: A smoking article holding device has an article holder, a pivot assembly, and a clamping assembly. The article holder includes two spaced-apart arms having a plurality of paired, opposed, concave arcuate recesses which facilitate holding a corresponding plurality of smoking article sizes. The article holder is attached to a linkage of a pivot assembly. The linkage is attached to a pivot base to facilitate pivoting orientation of the attached holder in a desired position. The pivot base of the pivot assembly is attached to the clamping assembly. A pair of spaced-apart clamping arms are included in the clamping assembly and retained by an adjustable retainer. The adjustable retainer includes a threaded adjustment stud and an adjustment knob which facilitate tightening and loosening for attaching and removing the clamping assembly from a selected surface.

Abstract: A lighter provided with a cigarette extinguisher which is capable of cutting and extinguishing a burning head of a cigarette safely. The cigarette extinguisher comprises an upper cut element, a torsion spring, a tongue, a lower cut element and a pivot pin. The pivot pin pivotally connects the upper cut element and the lower cut element to facilitate the relative pivotal movement of the upper cut element and the lower cut element, the relative pivotal movement affects the cutting-off of a cigarette head which is inserted into the space between the upper cut element and the lower cut element.

Abstract: A cigarette clipping device comprising an open ended casing, sized and shaped to accommodate a standard package of cigarettes. A knife edge is pivoted and slidably carried along one side of the casing and is received in any one of a plurality of parallel slots through the casing so that by pivoting the knife through a selected slot, the length of a cigarette package and, hence, the cigarettes therein, are reduced by a predetermined amount.

Abstract: A container for capsules and the like having a cutter associated with the container for cutting the capsules is disclosed. Hinged upper and lower portions of the container have cutting members secured thereto. Closure of the container portions effects cutting of a capsule inserted between the cutting members. In the preferred embodiments, the cutting members comprise a trough-shaped notch in the front wall of one of the container portions and a blade secured to the front wall of the other of the container portions, the blade and notch being superposed. An internal compartment is provided to receive a cut portion of a capsule.

Abstract: A cigarette extinguishing and cigar cutting device mounted in the center of an ashtray which comprises a static base having a tapered top, a depressible stamper resiliently held above said base. Cigarettes may be snuffed out between the base and the depressed stamper. The cigar cutting portion of the device is constituted by a horizontal hole cut through a section of the base intercepted by a vertical slot in which travels a blade fastened to the stamper.
