Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an eyelash curler capable of separating eyelashes from each other at roots thereof and of beautifully curling eyelashes. The eyelash curler 1 has a pair of frame portions 12 and 12 extending in a vertical direction, a movable member 60 that is movable in the vertical direction along the pair of frame portions 12 and 12, a stationary member 50 fixed above the movable member 60, and an elastic member 70 placed on the movable member 60. The eyelash curler 1 has arm members 10 and 20 operable to move the movable member 60 upward to bring the contact area 70A of the elastic member 70 into contact with the stationary member 50 and a comb member 80 attached to the movable member 60.

Abstract: A hairbrush for styling hair has a brush head releasably connected to a rod rotatably mounted on a handle portion of the hairbrush and having a handle. The brush head has a plurality of spaced apart bristles for insertion between strands of the hair and gripping the strands therebetween. As the rod, and therefore the brush head are rotatable relative the handle, the brush head, with strands of hair gripped thereon, can be rotated as the handle is moved towards the head of a person whose hair is being styled, thus causing the strands of hair to be rolled around brush head, without requiring cumbersome twisting of the handle. A spring facilitates rotation in an opposite second direction and unrolling of the strands of hair off the brush head. A locking pin enables locking and unlocking of the rod and brush head to prevent and enable rotation thereof.

Abstract: Hairbrushes having removable handles, kits, methods of use, and methods of sale are provided. The hairbrushes attach to the handles with a rod-and-socket quick-release system that provides a single-button quick-release coupler between a hair brush and a hair brush handle. The system facilitates easier hair curling using the brushes to curl up the hair and then releasing the handle to allow the brush to remain in the hair. The kits comprise brush-heads, at least one handle, and a container. The method involves creating a hairstyle for a customer using the brushes and then providing the customer a custom kit of the same types of brushes for use at home.

Abstract: A hair brush having a brush handle equipped with an assembly end piece (1) at its end and by at least one detachable brush head (2) able to be attached to the assembly end piece (1). The brush head (2) is constituted by a hair-bearing rod (7) inserted into the inner part of an essentially rigid perforated tubular sleeve (8) and the assembly end piece (1) is equipped with at least one annular groove (4) that is at least 5 mm deep, and preferably about 15 mm deep and a diameter matching that of the tubular sleeve (8) whereof it is intended to receive one of the ends (12) or male end.

Abstract: A curling iron includes a concave clamping member having a lateral straight edge and an opposite lateral comb edge. The clamping member is adapted to mate with a curling rod when the curling iron is in a closed position. The straight edge of the clamping member is substantially parallel to the comb edge. The comb edge includes a plurality of uniformly spaced combing teeth. A pair of pivotally attached handles enable opening and closing of the curling iron. The clamping member may be removable and reversible. During curling, the curling iron may be rotated so that either the straight edge or the comb edge moves towards the hair and engages and styles the hair. During curling, the hair may be compressed between the clamping member and the rod. The curling iron may then be rotated on the lateral straight edge to form a solid barrel curl.

Abstract: Apparatus 10 discloses a plurality of hair curlers 40 having means for engaging a hair curling appliance comprising a handle assembly 12 having curler engaging and disengaging means, a circuit for producing a volume of heated air, control means for energizing and de-energizing the circuit, an actuator for engaging a temperature burst and means for tapping a power source. The housing incorporates a handle assembly 12 containing a heating element for electrically heating the air in use, an on/off switch 24, quick release ring 26 and temperature burst button 20. At one distal end of the curling wand 12 is a curler attachment port 30 that allows the user to insert a curler 14 and release the curler by a quick release ring 26. The assembly 12 allows for the use of a variety of different size and style curlers 14. A storage case 38 is provided.

Abstract: A system and method for the management of hair and personal hygiene is provided. The system comprises a hair care instrument including a mounting base having opposing sides each defining a mounting portion in its cross-section. The base includes a proximal end. A first implement is removably connected to at least one of said opposing sides of said base. A handle is provided having an interface edge, the interface edge is adjacent the proximal end of the base, wherein the handle is removably connected to the proximal end of the mounting base.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an improved comb for a disk wound transformer. The method comprises the steps of providing a web of cellulose material; removing a portion of the cellulose material to create a plurality of longitudinal slits along the length of the web, wherein the longitudinal slits have a fixed length and width; and folding the web along a line proximate the midpoint of the length of each of the longitudinal slits such that the cellulose material adjacent the longitudinal slits defines a plurality of tooth members.

Abstract: A multi-comb hair-curler which has a body which includes a plurality of combs. One of the combs has pyramidal or conical teeth whose tips are distant from the body, with the teeth including at least once along their length, and on their opposite face, a narrowing which forms an open channel arranged between two adjacent teeth. The cross section of the channel is a circle or a polygon, the axis of which is perpendicular to that of the tooth and to that of the body which creates channels for retention of the ends of tie hair. The hair-curler further includes at least one comb with polygonal teeth of constant thickness without narrowing, with the combs being spaced alternatively in an equiangular manner to provide respectively, a comb with retention channels, and then a comb without retention channels.

Abstract: A collapsible hair brush employs a flat rectangular flexible membrane with a plurality of bristles projecting perpendicularly from one of its flat surfaces with this membrane having its opposite edges journalled on two spaced-apart, parallel elements which elements are disposed at a width less than the width of the membrane whereby the membrane will have an arcuate configuration when assembled on said elements and can be pushed to one side of the elements to open the bristles and the other side of the elements to close the bristles, along with a handle hinged to the brush which can be folded over the membrane when the bristles are closed to make a compact unit for storage.

Abstract: A hand-held steam hair curler-brush includes a perforated open-ended metallic cylinder extending forwardly from a handle. Secured to the handle and extending into the interior of the cylinder is a cylindrical member containing an electric heating element and having a closed end remote from the handle and a side wall spaced from the interior of the cylinder to define a first annular space therebetween. A rotatable perforated cylindrical barrel surrounds the cylinder and is spaced therefrom by first and second supports at the ends of the cylinder to define a second annular space therebetween. The support at the end of the cylinder remote from the handle includes a manually actuatable steam producing means closing the open end of the cylinder and arranged to create steam in the first annular space by bringing water into contact with the heated closed end of the cylindrical member.

Abstract: An electric hair curling or styling iron includes an elongated cylindrical housing extending from a handle and enclosing an electric heating element. The outer peripheral cylindrical surface of the housing is provided with an even number of radially spaced longitudinally extending grooves. An elongated support bar is removably located in each of the grooves and each bar includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced teeth extending radially outwardly from the longitudinal axis of the housing. The bars are arranged in alternating first and second series. The bars and teeth of the first series are fabricated from a material relatively of high heat transmissibility, such as aluminum. The bars and teeth of the second series are made of a material of relatively low heat transmissibility, such as plastic. The teeth of the second series are longer than the teeth of the first series.

Abstract: A collapsible electric curling iron includes an elongated hollow handle open at one end and an elongated, generally cylindrical heat conductive housing mounted on the handle for movement between an operative use position where the housing extends out of the handle through the open end and an inoperative storage position where the housing is confined within the handle. A cap on the inner end of the housing cooperates with a collar and guides on the handle to prevent side-to-side or "rocking" movement of the housing in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the handle during movement between the operative and inoperative positions. The housing has a longitudinal bore, generally polygonal in transverse cross section, which accommodates a thin planar electric heating element placed diagonally across the bore and having side edges engaged in diametrically spaced corners of the bore.

Abstract: An electrically heated hair curling brush for drying and styling hair includes an elongated handle having a longitudinal axis and provided at its front end with an axially extending inner tube affixed non-rotatably to the handle. An outer tube formed with a multiplicity of radial teeth defining a hair brush is engaged over the inner tube and supported for rotation about the longitudinal axis thereof by cooperating formations on the tube and handle. The cooperating formations include a circumferential rim on the front end of the handle defining a groove receiving and engaging a radially extending circumferential flange on the end of the outer tube adjacent the handle. A locking arrangement, including a radially displaceable spring-biased detent on the handle movable into engagement between radial locking teeth on the flange, is provided for selectively preventing rotation of the outer tube on the inner tube.

Abstract: A hairdressing device comprises an elongate circular cross-section cylindrical body having a relatively small diameter adapted to the size of a hair curl, and a gripping handle extending from one end of the body. A first rectilinear row of comb teeth extends radially from the body, and second and third rectilinear rows of comb teeth extend from the body in opposite sides of the first row and spaced symmetrically relative to the first row. A relatively thin pliers or pressure member is articulated to the body adjacent the handle, and has an operating portion adjacent the handle and an active portion extending in alignment with the first row of comb teeth and movable toward the body to press the hair against the body. The active portion of the pliers or pressure member has an elongated slot therein through which the comb teeth of the first row extend when the active portion is substantially engaged with the body.
