  • Patent number: 8900702
Abstract: An artificial hair and a wig using the same are provided which have the property of thermal deformation expanding upon heating by a hair drier or others used for hair styling. The artificial hair 1 is made by mixing at the pre-determined ratio a semi-aromatic polyamide having a glass transition temperature between 60-120° C. and a resin not expanding in said temperature range. The artificial hair may have a sheath/core structure comprising a core portion 5B and a sheath portion covering the core portion. As the resin not expanding in said temperature range, polyethylene terephthalate or others can be used, and as the sheath, nylon 6 or nylon 66 can be used. Said artificial hair 1 can maintain its shape at room temperature or after shampooing due to thermal deformation by heating in steam atmosphere at temperature of glass transition or higher or about 80-100° C.

  • Patent number: 8887738
Abstract: A portable hair-styling device is provided for creating attractive ponytails. The device has a primary housing containing a motor, an impeller, a blocking flap, and a filter screen. Connecting to the primary housing is a flexible hose, a plurality of styling tubes, and one or more elastic bands. When powered on, a partial vacuum is generated within the flexible hose and the styling tube attached thereto. The free end of the styling tube is moved around the base of the stylee's neck to gather loose hair into the tube, and an elastic band is then positioned on the captured length of hair. The device operator releases the captured hair by depressing a release button on the housing, which engages the blocking flap and temporarily disrupts the flow of air from the flexible hose. After hair is removed from the styling tube it remains styled in a neat ponytail.

Abstract: A hair applicator comprises a body, a flexible member, and a means of transferring a center of the flexible member. The flexible comprises bristles, which may be arranged in a circular pattern and/or of differing lengths. The hair applicator may also contain a means of adjusting the initial position of the center of the flexible member. A user may apply an appropriate amount of hair coloring composition within the bristles of the flexible member. When the center of the flexible member is moved, the shape of the flexible member is changed which causes the bristles form to a conical shape which may be used to grasp strands of hair. The user may comb the hair coloring composition throughout the length of the hair and effectively highlight the desired hair strands, although other suitable applications will be apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art in view of the teachings herein.
