Abstract: A hair sculpting device that creates a wave-like pattern of hair by utilizing a plurality of long and short bristles in a repeating pattern, while penetrating the user's scalp to release oils that cultivate hair follicles in a wave like pattern.

Abstract: A comb for permitting a user to perform a scissor over comb technique on a subject's hair with enhanced efficiency is provided. The comb includes a frame having a handle, a neck and a spine, the handle having a finger rest on an intermediate portion able to receive a first finger of the user, a plurality of tines coupled to the spine, and a support band coupled to opposing sides of the finger rest on the handle. The user's first finger is disposed between the finger rest and the support band. A second finger of the user is pressed against the neck to pivot the tines downward into a generally horizontal plane. Removal of the second finger from the neck permits tension between the support band and first finger to pivot the tines upward into a generally vertical plane.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a person's hair, having a comb with a spine, a handle that extends axially from the spine and a plurality of teeth that extends transversely from the spine, and at least one finger that extends transversely from the spine substantially perpendicularly to the plurality of teeth, the at least one finger terminating in a lobe that is shaped to comfortably follow a surface of the person's head and shaped to gently scoop and lift hair away from the person's head.

Abstract: Provided is an implement that has a handle adapted to be positioned on a user's hand such that the user's hand goes through the handle. The handle has an aperture that is adapted to accept a user's hand. The implement of the present invention may have a wide variety of implements as described herein. Particular implements include, for example, personal care implements such as, eating utensils, a toothbrush or a hair care implement, such as, a hairbrush or comb.

Abstract: A scalp protector for the application of free-flowing hair treatment agents, in which according to the invention a comb-like first bundle of tines (1) protruding from a first web (3) having tines extending essentially parallel to one another is provided, wherein a cover element which adjustably constricts the free space between the tines is provided. The invention therefore represents a mechanical barrier, which is inserted into the hair at the point to be treated and remains there during the duration of the treatment. Since according to the invention a cover element, which adjustably constricts the free space between the teeth, is provided, the cover element can primarily be selected so that the free space is enlarged and easy insertion into the hair is possible. In the further proceedings, the cover element can be adjusted so that the free space is constricted and the scalp is completely covered down to the regions in which the individual hairs aligned in the free space between the tines pass through.

An electrolyte reservoir can be disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and is configured to maintain a volume of an electrolyte between the first electrode and the second electrode. A control module is electrically coupled to the first electrode and the second electrode. The control module is operable to bias the first electrode at a first potential and the second electrode at a second potential to create an electrical potential difference between the first electrode and the second electrode. The electrical potential difference is configured to produce an electrolysis zone in the electrolyte disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The electrolysis zone is configured to style hair disposed in the electrolysis zone between the first electrode and the second electrode.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hair comb capable of reducing the resistance and improving the smoothness of combing hair, and the hair comb includes a slab-shaped main body, a plurality of parallel slash-shaped teeth implant areas disposed on a surface of the main body, a plurality of serial comb teeth sequentially implanted in the teeth implant areas and disposed opposite to the slash-shaped teeth implant areas respectively, a vacant area without any implanted tooth and disposed on a surface of the main body and the width of the vacant area falling between the serial comb teeth is greater than the distance between two adjacent comb teeth to achieve the effects of reducing the resistance of combining hair by the hair comb and the occurrence of tangled hair and providing a smooth combing operation.

Abstract: The technology described herein provides systems and methods for combing, drying, and straightening hair with a device having one or more rows of teeth. Additionally, this technology provides for an adjustable tension mechanism that provides for the compression of hair, thus wringing it of water and providing the ability for a user to also straighten his or her hair. Furthermore, this technology provides for combing, drying, and straightening hair without utilizing an electric or heating means.

Abstract: A multi-pin grooming brush having multi-sectioned bristles on the brush pad to provide a triple combing action. The brush has an outer layer of fixed pin tufts which encircle the exterior of the brush pad and preferably are metal pin tufts. The brush has a middle layer of flexible tufts preferably made of pure boar bristles and which are surrounded by the fixed pin tufts. As the brush is moved through a pet's hair or human hair, the outer layer of fixed pin tufts gently yet thoroughly detangles the coat, removes larger particles and provides a gentle massage effect, then the middle layer of pure boar bristles conditions the hair by distributing natural oils, leaving a healthy shine and a protective layer over the pet's coat, and then the opposite section of fixed pin tufts passes through the hair once again to smooth and separate the conditioned hair.

Abstract: System for harnessing wind energy with self-protection that includes a vertical shaft assembled with bearings on the rotating core. The core is equipped with a gear converting movement into energy. The core carries radial pieces in which there is an upper base that supports an ascending vertical shaft terminating in a discoid piece. The radial pieces carry internal shafts with bevel gears connected to the bevel gears assembled on vertical shafts mounted on blocks at the ends of the arms. The shafts carry ball joints, from which the extensions of the ascending shaft extend, provided with a crossbar with the pulleys provided with ties. The ties include elastic springs that fasten the double blades with the ties to the ascending shaft making it possible for the blades to become wound around it. This occurs when the assembly rotates in the opposite direction.

The hair brush includes a brush housing having an outer stationary frame section having short bristles thereon and an inner movable frame section having long bristles thereon; and a handle section attached to one end of the brush housing. A plurality of connecting springs are used for movably connecting the inner movable frame section to the outer stationary frame section. A slide button member is used for pushing the inner movable frame section from a first position to a second position. The inner movable frame section is movable between the first position and the second position to repeatedly move the inner movable frame section in a forward and reverse direction relative to the outer stationary frame section such that the long bristles operate to move the user's hair laterally relative to the direction of movement.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved brush for the application of a liquid, pasty or powdery product. The brush has an active portion comprised of a split tube which houses an insert disposed therein. The insert is configured like a split cylinder having free ends projecting from the slit in the split tube. At least one of the free ends of the split cylinder comprises teeth formed therewith to form a comb suitable for applying the product.

Abstract: A method and comb device for detection and removal of human head lice, and eventual elimination of the lice infestation, from infested individuals by sequential combing, with no use of pesticides. The comb device has six sides, three of the sides of the comb having sets of differently sized and spaced teeth so that hair can be detangled, first with the thick, widely spaced teeth on side (1), and then with the standard comb teeth on side (2), and then the thin, closely spaced teeth of the lice removal side (3) can be used to comb out lice. The method also be used to inspect for lice, with the capability of detecting lice at an earlier stage in an infestation than possible with the current, traditional inspection method (visual searching for nits or lice eggs.

Abstract: A comb is formed from two half-comb sections laid one on top of the other. Each half of the comb includes every other tooth of the full comb, such that when the two halves are mated, the two sets of teeth will be interleaved to form a comb having narrow inter-tooth gaps. Three arrays of bristles extend from a major surface of the head in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the handle. A center array of bristles has a high bristle density and functions as an absorbent structure for retaining and applying a treatment solution. The end arrays sandwich the center array and have a low bristle density. The bristles of the end arrays have a greater rigidity than those of the center array. The device is used to simultaneously comb hair on one side of a hair partition, apply treatment solution to the partition, spread the treatment solution, and repartition the hair for a subsequent application of treatment solution.

The bars are arranged in alternating first and second series. The bars and teeth of the first series are fabricated from a material relatively of high heat transmissibility, such as aluminum. The bars and teeth of the second series are made of a material of relatively low heat transmissibility, such as plastic. The teeth of the second series are longer than the teeth of the first series.

Abstract: A collapsible electric curling iron includes an elongated hollow handle open at one end and an elongated, generally cylindrical heat conductive housing mounted on the handle for movement between an operative use position where the housing extends out of the handle through the open end and an inoperative storage position where the housing is confined within the handle. A cap on the inner end of the housing cooperates with a collar and guides on the handle to prevent side-to-side or "rocking" movement of the housing in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the handle during movement between the operative and inoperative positions. The housing has a longitudinal bore, generally polygonal in transverse cross section, which accommodates a thin planar electric heating element placed diagonally across the bore and having side edges engaged in diametrically spaced corners of the bore.

Abstract: An improved hair dressing device of the curling iron type having a heatable barrel is provided, along a longitudinal segment thereof, with a plurality of radially projecting hair combing teeth having substantially pointed ends. A hair-confining member, generally coextensive with and overlying the barrel segment in operative position, is pivotally mounted to the barrel, adjacent its rearward end for movement between the operative position and a non-operative position away from the barrel. Stop means are associated with the member for maintaining the same in spaced relation to the barrel and to the ends of the teeth in the operative position so as to essentially limit and minimize clamping pressure on hair confined between the member and the barrel to allow the hair to slide therebetween as the barrel is rotated during use, with a minimum possibility of hair being caught between the member and the ends of the teeth.

Abstract: A hairdressing device comprises an elongate circular cross-section cylindrical body having a relatively small diameter adapted to the size of a hair curl, and a gripping handle extending from one end of the body. A first rectilinear row of comb teeth extends radially from the body, and second and third rectilinear rows of comb teeth extend from the body in opposite sides of the first row and spaced symmetrically relative to the first row. A relatively thin pliers or pressure member is articulated to the body adjacent the handle, and has an operating portion adjacent the handle and an active portion extending in alignment with the first row of comb teeth and movable toward the body to press the hair against the body. The active portion of the pliers or pressure member has an elongated slot therein through which the comb teeth of the first row extend when the active portion is substantially engaged with the body.
