Abstract: A liquid dispensing device for a container, and associated systems and methods, are disclosed. The liquid dispensing device can include a penetrating tip configured to penetrate a container, which is configured to have a liquid disposed therein. Relative movement of the penetrating tip and the container toward one another can be operable to create an opening in a portion of the container, and the liquid can dispense from the container through the opening.

Abstract: A comb for detangling hair includes a handle, a head portion attached to the handle, and a plurality of teeth attached to the head portion. At least some of the teeth comprise first and second proximal ends, and a distal end, the first and second proximal ends being spaced apart from one another and being relatively moveable, wherein such relative movement of the proximal ends of said at least some of the teeth causes flexion or shape change of the tooth. The flexion of the tooth assists in detangling the hair by gently moving the hair shaft.

Abstract: There is disclosed a comb. The comb has an upper or a basic part and a number of teeth attached to and pointing out from the upper or basic part, wherein the outer or free end of at least a portion of the teeth forms two curved shapes or curvatures for the touch of a scalp. The first curvature has a radius of curvature substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the teeth, and the second curvature is curved outwards in relation to the upper or basic part. The radius of curvature of the first curvature may be in the range of 3-14 cm.

Abstract: Provided are a hairdressing and cosmetic comb which catches a lot of hair in the gaps of the comb teeth in single combing, does not need blocking or shifting of the comb from one hand to another, allows hair to be aligned straight easily, allows a practitioner to image a finished state of the whole head without hurting fingers of the practitioner, ensures an efficient hairdressing and cosmetic work of cutting or dyeing, and is manufactured at low cost, and a hairdressing and cosmetic method using the comb. A hairdressing and cosmetic comb 1 includes a support 2, and a plurality of comb teeth 3 provided in a row on one side of the support 2 substantially in parallel. The comb teeth 3 are elastically bent and deformed according to the form of a head 5 when the comb teeth 3 are pressed toward the head 5 on which the comb teeth abut via a contact portion.

Abstract: A comb for the hair including a body having a lengthwise axis (X). At least one first gap is defined between two teeth of a first pair of teeth, with this first gap having a first height. At least one second gap is defined between two teeth of a second pair of teeth, with this second gap having a second height lower than the first height. In a preferred form of the teeth defining the first and second gaps, only the teeth defining the second gap are arranged to hold a lock of hair between them. At least one of the teeth defining the second gap includes a projection extending into this second gap. In a preferred form, all of the teeth defining the first and second gaps are located on the same side of the body of the comb.

Abstract: The present invention is a comb that includes curved or angular teeth placed perpendicular to a cylindrical handle in a straight or helical path. It can be drawn through a lock of hair to create a ringlet curl that hangs free from the scalp. It may optionally include a second row of teeth, or an individual tooth, that incorporates additional strands of hair into the curl. The comb may include an extension that smoothes hair over the teeth. In operation one uses the comb to dress wet or dry hair. The first row of curved teeth is applied to the hair at the root, and drawn through the hair with a rotating motion that is consistent with the direction of the curve of the comb's teeth resulting in a ringlet curl that hangs free from the head.

Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a partially cylindrical shaped hairbrush cleaner having teeth or tines 16 projecting longitudinally from the structure 26 forming an arc on one end and a gripping handle 22 on the other end. The tines 16 are made of a material suitable to resist bending, therefore, slots 20 are made extending beyond the tine base 24 into the structural member forming flexible ribbing 18 whereby forces 36 applied to the distal end of the tines will cause them to conform to the cylindrically shaped brush being cleaned. The present invention 10 will remove debris such as hair, threads and line 38 from cylindrically shaped hairbrushes 12. The device can be provided with various shaped handles 40, 42, 44 and 50.

The parting portion also may include a generally concave face. The applying portion includes a blade. The blade includes dimples or holes designed to increase the ability of less-viscous fluids or cremes to remain adhered to the surface of the blade. The applying portion may also include teeth disposed along a distal portion for assisting in the application and directional smoothing of the hair during use. The channels between the teeth may vary in shape, including (for example) being half-circular, ovular or rectangular in shape.

Abstract: A device for forming angled wells in an electrophoresis gel slab includes a device having a plurality of projections oriented at an angle with respect to a longitudinal dimension of the device. A method for forming angled wells in a gel places the device in a gel forming material and allows the material to polymerize to form the electrophoresis gel slab. The device can be removed from the gel slab without distorting or tearing the gel and forming a plurality of substantially uniform sample wells oriented at an angle with respect to the edge of the gel slab. The sample wells are dimensioned to contain a liquid sample for electrophoresis separation. The gel slab can be rotated 90° so that the sample wells are oriented along a vertical edge of the gel slab with the sample wells retaining the liquid sample therein.

A plurality of spaced fingers or tines extend from the comb base in substantially parallel relation to one another to define a series of hair receiving slots. Each finger or tine increases in thickness as it extends from the comb base to its midregion and then decreases in thickness to terminate in a curved distal end. Hair is woven through the series of slots in a predetermined sequence to form a braid.

Abstract: This invention relates to an improved comb and in particular to one including a left member having a plurality of holes on the inner side thereof and an elongated projection on the outer side thereof, a right member having a plurality of protuberances on the inner side thereof adapted to engage with the holes of the left member and an elongated projection on the outer side thereof, and a plurality of line members connected between the left member and the right member and being each provided with a cut at an intermediate portion, whereby when the left member is joined with the right member with the holes of the left member engaged with the protuberances of the right member, the line members will be bent at the cuts to form a plurality of elliptical loops for tidying hair.

Abstract: A hairdressing comb comprises a series of hair lifting teeth each having a barb or hook-like formation at the end thereof, and, between each adjacent pair of hair lifting teeth, one or more plain comb teeth. The comb forms part of a hairdressing kit 30 for use in the foil highlighting of hair. The kit further comprises a former and a tray. The former facilitates the cutting of a sheet of metal foil into strips of equal width which fit in the tray.

Abstract: A weaving tool for use in the hairstyling arts allowing rapid and accurate gathering of uniformly spaced strands of hair for weaving, coloring, perming or cutting. The tool comprises a comb with teeth having a single hook located in the forward inside edge of each tooth. When the teeth are drawn through the hair the hooks engage multiple uniformly spaced strands of hair in a single movement. This saves time by eliminating the extra operation required by the present state of the art of multiply passing a pointed instrument in a zig-zag fashion through sections of hair grasped between the fingers. In addition, the present state of the art does not produce uniformly spaced strands of hair.
