Abstract: A floss pick including a body with a handle and a head having a length of floss therein. The handle defines an aperture with a toothpick member disposed therein. The toothpick member is connected to the handle by first and second bridge members. In a first instance, the bridge members are broken to detach the toothpick member. In a second instance, the bridge members are twisted to pivot the toothpick member from a nonuse position to a use position where it is disposed at an angle relative to the body. The toothpick member is pivoted by engaging a terminal end thereof with an index finger of the hand in which the body is held. The angle of the toothpick member relative to the body is adjusted using the index finger to permit picking of the teeth in any region of the user's mouth without changing hands.

  • Patent number: 8534300
Abstract: A dental hygiene threading tool used to insert floss between teeth of a user who has permanent oral implants. Traditional flossing for individuals with oral implants and the methods of flossing between implants and the gum line presently available are time consuming and difficult, due to the lack of the space between the two structures. The disclosed device comprises a hollow tube used to guide a floss threading line or pull through guide into these tight spaces. The tube is then removed once the threading line has been inserted. A user feeds a strand of dental floss through the threading line loop and pulls the threading line with the dental floss through the space. Once the dental floss has been fed through the teeth, the flossing procedure may commence. The device dramatically reduces time and effort required to thread floss between teeth and oral implants.

Abstract: A floss pick including a body with a handle and a head having a length of floss therein. The handle defines an aperture with a toothpick member disposed therein. The toothpick member is connected to the handle by first and second bridge members. In a first instance, the bridge members are broken to detach the toothpick member. In a second instance, the bridge members are twisted to pivot the toothpick member from a non-use position to a use position where it is disposed at an angle relative to the body. The toothpick member is pivoted by engaging a terminal end thereof with an index finger of the hand in which the body is held. The angle of the toothpick member relative to the body is adjusted using the index finger to permit picking of the teeth in any region of the user's mouth without changing hands.

Abstract: An oral care device comprises a body, at least one tooth cleaning device and a mirrored or reflective surface. In one illustrative arrangement, the oral care device includes two tooth cleaning devices at opposite ends of the body and the mirrored or reflective surface is disposed on the body in between the tooth cleaning devices. In another illustrative arrangement, the oral care device includes a tooth cleaning device at one end of the body and the mirrored or reflective surface is disposed on the opposite end of the body. The mirrored or reflective surface may be on an enlarged section of the body and further may be substantially planar or convex. The tooth cleaning device or devices enable a user to clean her teeth and the region between her teeth. The mirrored or reflective surface enables the user to inspect her teeth before, during, and/or after cleaning her teeth with the tooth cleaning device or devices, which in turn, enables the user to better clean her teeth.

Abstract: A dental floss pick is composed of a frame, a floss and a grip portion, wherein the frame has a first section and a second section. The first section extends from one end of the frame to a predetermined range and the second section extends from the first section to connect one end of the grip portion. Because the first section defines a first tooth-accommodating area with a height, which is smaller than a distance between the occlusal surface and the interdental papilliae, therefore, when a user places the floss into the slits between the teeth, the floss is limited in depth by the first tooth-accommodating area to avoid damaging the gum. Moreover, the floss is modified into two sections with different materials and shapes for cleaning different teeth slits at different location and characteristics to improve the cleaning convenience and avoid gun injury.

Abstract: A dental floss holding structure includes a dental floss and two holding bodies. The two ends of the dental floss are respectively connected with a base, which includes a first coupling portion with a first positioning portion mounted thereon. Each of the two holding bodies includes a second coupling portion corresponding to the first coupling portion, and the second coupling portion has a second positioning portion corresponding to the first positioning portion, so that the dental floss and the holding bodies can be stably fixed with each other through the engagement between the first and the second positioning portions. Accordingly, when the user's hands hold the two holding bodies to clean the teeth slits, the fingers can be kept out of the mouth without entering the mouth, which not only provides convenience but also assures the hygiene.

Abstract: A dental flossing device formed of a handle has proximal and distal ends, a flosser head extending from the distal end of the handle, the flosser head including a base, two spaced apart arms extending from the base and having distal ends, and a strand of dental floss extending between and secured to the distal ends of the arms, and a hinge connecting the distal end of the handle to the flosser head. The flosser head has a first position generally co-planar with the handle, the flosser head being bendable about the hinge to a second position that is angled relative to the handle. The arms in the first position of the flosser head are spaced apart a first distance. The device includes an engagement latch for securing the flosser head in the second position and urging the distal ends of the arms to be spaced apart a second distance greater than the first distance to thus stretch the strand of dental floss to be more taut.
