  • Patent number: 9434559
Abstract: A loading dock seal system includes a closed-cell foam buffer adapted to be positioned proximate a loading dock surface and a foam padding disposed adjacent the closed-cell foam buffer and affixed thereto. A fabric cover, being free of overlapping members proximate the loading dock surface, defines an interior volume. The closed-cell foam buffer and the foam padding are disposed within the interior volume. A fabric fastener being free of overlapping portions defines an aperture through the fabric cover that is sized to receive and to release the affixed closed-cell foam buffer and the foam padding from the interior volume. Fabric tabs are connected to the fabric cover and extend away from and are substantially parallel to the rear side of the fabric cover. The attachment of the fabric tabs to the loading dock surface is adapted to be free of mounting brackets.

  • Patent number: 9433842
Abstract: Improvements in an expandable goal net are disclosed. The expandable goal net is foldable and can be taken from a full size goal to a smaller size that can be easily compacted for transportation. The vertical legs telescope inside each other to essentially reduce the height of the vertical members to essentially half. The horizontal cross posts fold in half thereby to compact the expandable goal net into a vertical folded rectangle. The folding joints are on the horizontal members. Joints lock into a horizontal orientation and can be released to allow the joints to fold essentially 180 degrees. Corners use similar hinged joints that allow the horizontal members to bend to essentially 90 degrees. Vertical members have locking slides that telescope to reduce the total length of the vertical members. The expandable goal net is made from aluminum tubes and formed or molded plastic components.

Abstract: A shelter has a packaged configuration and a deployed configuration. The shelter has four panels, each with four edges and two faces. The first and fourth panels have a rectangular shape, and the second and third panels have a quadrangle shape. The relationship of panel edge lengths and angles of the quadrangle shelter panels create a sturdy enclosure that is easy to erect, manipulate, and reconfigure. Furthermore, the shelter may be erected by rotating the panels into place via pivotal connections between the panels and optionally through the use of a lever arm.

Abstract: The embodied invention is a large, horizontal sunshade with vertical shading curtains around the perimeter that is securely attached to the roof of a vehicle. The attachment means comprises a semi-permanent magnetic vehicle mount assembly that is attached to the vehicle roof and a matching snap ring that secures the sunscreen in place. The snap ring is magnetically attached to the car mount assembly using strong magnets that prevent the sunscreen from blowing away in the event of a wind. The sunscreen assembly incorporates reinforcing ribs in a way that allows the sunscreen assembly to be folded and stored compactly. The sunscreen assembly is removable by a simple rotation.

  • Patent number: 9296449
Abstract: Provided is an arctic drill ship an arctic drill ship which includes a weather tight structure protecting a drill floor from air, and a side strake supporting the weather tight structure around a drilling work area. It is possible to economically and easily manufacture the weather tight structure which minimizes the influence of outside air on the drilling operation in the polar regions, and it is possible to efficiently support the hull longitudinal strength and the weather tight structure with the use of the side strake structure solely. Therefore, a structure which may cause a disturbance in the drilling work area is minimized, and it is unnecessary to install a separate structural reinforcement member for a drilling workspace in the polar regions. In addition, the drilling workspace in the polar regions can be effectively ensured, and a spatial limitation in an upper portion of a moonpool can be solved.

  • Patent number: 9004088
Abstract: A portable canopy can be deployed either on a vehicle or on a paved area. Depending on the amount of tension of its elastic corner straps, the canopy can be deployed in a convex configuration, so as to arch over the cab of a vehicle, or alternatively in a substantially flat configuration, so as to cover a pavement. A series of coil spring strips within the canopy urge it to curl up around its longitudinal axis, so that, when the corner straps are released on one side, that side is lifted by the contraction of the coil strips, thereby expelling accumulated snow/ice to the other side of the vehicle or pavement.
