  • Patent number: 5579796
Abstract: This invention relates generally to a portable shelter for an automobile which is lightweight and easily assembled. The invention utilizes base plates which are adjustably placed under the wheels of the sheltered vehicle for securely anchoring the shelter structure. Independently adjustable vertical support bars are attached to the base plates and support a canopy. Additionally, cross-braces which are adjustable in height and adjustable in length are positioned at tire height to that the vertical support bars of the structure can be securely braced against the vehicle tires. This provides superior lateral support against meteorological conditions without the need for external stakes or guide wires, and without contacting or damaging the body of the vehicle.

The rope-like member is formed with a loop at each end thereof for securement of a clip and tether line thereto for maintaining a desired orientation of the apparatus relative to an infant.

  • Patent number: 4915120
Abstract: A bonnet for lawn chairs and the like involves a canopy formed of a plurality of flexible, resilient bows, which are maintained in a generally U-shaped configuration, and a flexible covering attached to and interconnecting the bows along a substantial portion of their length. The bows are attached to a chair through two bow assembly bars, each of which have a separate attachment location, in linear spaced relationship, for each bow. Each bow is pivotally connected, with adjustable tension, at its ends between the two bow assembly bars at the separate spaced locations so as to permit each of the bows to be individually pivotable, fore and aft, thereby permitting variation of the canopy coverage and location. The bow assembly bars are removably clamped to the framework on opposing sides of a lawn chair. A flexible line, of less length than the bows, is used to directly interconnect the bow assembly bars so as to restrain the resilient bows to a generally U-shaped configuration.

  • Patent number: 4901745
Abstract: A camping tent assembly for attachment to a van or for freestanding use is of a generally L-shaped configuration for direct attachment to the rear and one side of the van. The interior side walls of the tent which are demountably attached to the van include access openings to the rear and side van doors and collars to seal the interface therebetween. The interior side walls may be detached from the van without collapsing the tent, the van moved away, and conventional tent supports substituted to completely restore the tent to and allow its use in a freestanding orientation. A portable galley unit stored in the rear of the van and directly accessible from inside the tent provides a camping assembly for complete cooking, sleeping and living needs.
