Successively Opened Valves Patents (Class 137/184)
  • Patent number: 9159333
Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for encoding and decoding an audio signal. According to the present application, a signal of a high frequency band above a preset frequency band is adaptively encoded or decoded in the time domain or in the frequency domain by using a signal of a low frequency band below the preset frequency band. As such, the sound quality of a high frequency signal is not deteriorate even when an audio signal is encoded or decoded by using a small number of bits and thus coding efficiency may be maximized.

  • Patent number: 8464747
Abstract: A steam trap system including a steam trap having a steam inlet and a water collector that can collect water. An orifice arrangement is included having a plurality of valved orifices spaced apart from each other at different heights. Selected valved orifices can be configured to open as water in the water collector rises and reaches the height of the selected valved orifices, allowing the water to be removed from the water collector.

  • Patent number: 6192920
Abstract: A valve for maintaining a given level of liquid in a tank, reservoir, or other container having a liquid-gas interface. Said valve being actuated by a float that rises and falls along with the liquid in the container. Said valve float actuates a series of valves in sequence wherein the higher the float rises, the more valve ports are opened allowing a higher flow rate through the valve.

  • Patent number: 4586655
Abstract: There is provided a steam trap having a thermal control element arranged on the high-pressure side containing an expanding medium and a shut-off unit closing in the direction of flow. The shut-off unit includes two closure members and two valve seats forming two series-connected, independent sealing units, which are opened or closed one after the other in series fashion by the control element so as to reduce wear of the shut-off unit. The two sealing units are arranged in a single assembly which is coupled to the control element for ease of installation.

  • Patent number: 4226362
Abstract: A high pressure steam trap is provided of the type which has at least two serially-connected and operated discharge control assemblies which are switched in series in the flow direction of the condensate, each of which includes a thermal control element which is exposed to the condensate to be discharged, a valve seat, and a throttle element which is actuated by the thermal control element for movement relative to the valve seat. Expansion capsules serve as the thermal control elements and these capsules contain an evaporation liquid, the steam pressure of which, measured at the same temperature, is higher than the steam pressure of the evaporation liquid in the successively-disposed expansion capsules downstream therefrom.
