  • Patent number: 10197166
Abstract: A vacuum gate valve includes a casing having an opening, and a valve plate that swings in the casing to open/close the opening. The vacuum gate valve further includes a position adjuster for bringing the valve plate into close contact with the casing when the valve plate is in a position where it entirely closes the casing opening. The position adjuster includes a rise/lower element for moving up and down inside the casing to come into contact with the valve plate and adjust the valve plate's position, and a raising/lowering unit for raising/lowering the rise/lower element inside the casing without friction resistance being generated between the rise/lower element and the casing.

  • Patent number: 8539673
Abstract: A method for machining a sealing seat of a shut-off valve in a power generating or industrial plant. An upper valve part and the internal housing fittings are removed from the housing of the shut-off valve to thereby expose a housing opening. A clamping device with a counter-bearing is introduced through the housing opening into the connection pipe and fastened to its inner wall. A machine tool with a bearing is introduced through the housing opening and mounted with its bearing on the counter-bearing. A machining step is carried out with the machine tool on the sealing seat. Then the machine tool is detached and removed through the housing opening. The clamping device is detached from the connection pipe and removed through the housing opening. Then, the upper valve part and the internal fittings are reattached to the housing.

  • Patent number: 8308449
Abstract: A Self Priming Gravity Wave Water Pump, Double Acting, vertically Self Adjusting incorporating a Submerged Column Platform as shown in FIG. 4A, the submerged column platform (22) can be tethered (28) or secured by a pivot to a weight (29) or fixed into the water bed (31). The column (22) can be incorporated into an additional submerged water filled column chamber (23), to operate as a hydraulic tidal adjustable column platform. The Gravity Wave Pump (9) is a wave energy converter using wave energy in the form of wave motion to displace a float (2), to lift the pumps reciprocating piston (12) and uses gravity, causing a weight (3) to push a piston down as the wave passes. The pump could pressurize piped water to a head of up to 100 meters or more and could pump pressures in excess of 150 pounds per square inch when adjusted accordingly.

  • Patent number: 7487789
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an exhaust gas recirculation valve incorporating a DC motor and a dual poppet valve assembly. A motor is contained inside of the actuator housing. The motor has a rotatable motor shaft with a first gear connected to the end of the motor shaft. A second gear is engageable to the first gear and is configured to rotate in response to the movement of the first gear and the motor shaft. The second gear is also connected to a pin member disposed through the top portion of a shaft member that has two poppet valves disposed on to the shaft. The two ends of the pin member are slidably engageable to either an upwardly or downwardly sloped ramp portion. When the second gear rotates the shaft rotates and moves upward or downward to cause the valve members to move between an open and closed position.

  • Patent number: 5971889
Abstract: A system for controlling an automatic vehicle transmission, including a gear system and hydraulic clutches which hold a member of the gear system stationary to produce gear reduction or reverse, having an oil line which connects the clutches to an oil pressure source, a pressure control valve having a solenoid provided in the oil line which generates a regulated oil pressure to be supplied to the clutches in response to a current supplied to the solenoid, a switch valve provided in the oil line which switches the oil pressure to be supplied to the one of the clutches between the regulated oil pressure and a line pressure. In the system, it is discriminated whether the pressure control valve does not supply the regulated oil pressure to the clutches and if so, a dither current is supplied to the solenoid such that the valve repeatedly performs a vibrational motion to remove any grit therefrom, thereby removing grit without causing gear-shift shock or clutch vibration.

  • Patent number: 4676279
Abstract: An apparatus for aseptically dispensing measured quantities of sterilized particulate garnish, includes identically constructed inlet and outlet valves each having a valve body with a radial port for communication with either a header/reservoir or a product conduit, substantially cylindrical valve members positioned within the valve bodies each with a radial port which when the valve members are rotated communicate with said radial ports in the valve body, enlarged cleaning and sterilizing zones within the cylinder bores of each of the valve bodies for in-line use, and a metering valve. The radial port on the valve member has a cutting edge which is engaged in the normal course of use whenever traversed by fibrous particulate matter such as meats, vegetables, or pulpy fruit. On the suction stroke of the metering valve piston, sterilized particulate garnish is drawn from the supply header/reservoir and is delivered through the outlet valve and nozzle on the dispensing stroke of the piston.

Abstract: For producing the seat or valve member of a labyrinth valve a number of rings of different diameter are placed one inside the other as a workpiece with their blade-like edges turned in the same direction. The group of rings is then slipped over the middle guide or stem of a jig so that the downwardly turned blade-like edges on the rings come to rest against upwardly directed ring-like blades on the jig. These blades are designed with a form answering to the form of the other valve part with which the workpiece is to be used. The rings in the workpiece are pressed down against the blades for leveling them and are then welded together, for example by electron beam welding.

  • Patent number: 4367766
Abstract: A slide valve with a slightly wedge-formed valve member arranged to close a flow duct by a cross-wise movement relative to the duct. There are annular sealing surfaces surrounding the flow duct and they are engageable by sealing side portions of the valve member for closing the valve. The sealing side portions of the valve member are considerably narrower than the annular sealing surfaces of the flow duct and are, in the closing position of the valve, located at a relatively great distance from the inner edge of the annular sealing surfaces. The sealing side portions of the valve member are of a softer material than the annular sealing surfaces, and hence, are subject to a repeated grinding against the annular sealing surfaces, when operating the valve. The sealing side portions of the valve member may be located each to a separate slide unit journalled in a body portion of the valve member. The slide units are in that case arranged to be slightly rotated by the opening movement of the valve.

  • Patent number: 4134372
Abstract: A device for rotating a reciprocating valve executing alternating opening and closing strokes has an overrunning clutch coupled to the valve stem; a control lever; a first articulation connecting the control lever to the overrunning clutch; and a second articulation supporting the control lever at a distance from the overrunning clutch. The control lever is arranged to impart to the overrunning clutch a torque derived from the reciprocating motion of the valve. The overrunning clutch transmits the torque to the stem for effecting rotation thereof about the stem axis solely during the closing strokes. The second articulation is situated at a predetermined fixed location selected such that a line connecting the articulations defines a first angle with the valve stem axis at the end of each closing stroke and a second angle at the end of each opening stroke. The first angle is acute and the second angle is at the most 90.degree. and is greater than the first angle.
