Abstract: A vehicle thermal management system for significantly improving thermal management performance includes a first group including a battery, a second group including one or more power electronics (PE) components, a plurality of cooling lines in thermal communication with an air-cooled radiator, and a six-way valve. The six-way valve includes a housing having a plurality of inlets and a plurality of outlets, a valve member mounted to be rotatable in the housing, and an actuator driving the valve member. The housing has a plurality of passages allowing the plurality of inlets to selectively communicate with the plurality of outlets by rotation of the valve member. In addition, the plurality of passages include a plurality of inner passages formed in an interior space of the housing, and a plurality of outer passages formed in an exterior space of the housing.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an annular isolation device for a riser includes a tubular body connectable to the riser. A closure member is rotatable between a closed position isolating fluid communication in the tubular body and an open position permitting fluid communication through the tubular body. The annular isolation device further includes an actuator disposed outside the tubular body and operable to rotate the closure member between the open position and the closed position.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for substantially eliminating destructive transients of pressure or flow rate which can degrade the efficiency and useful lifetime of chromatography columns. The present invention enables a substantially constant flow of mobile phase liquid to be maintained through the chromatography system by eliminating the flow blockage interval associated with the actuation of sample injection valves. The present invention further provides a method to reduce the pressure and flow rate transients associated with pressurization of the sample loop contents when the sample loop is introduced to chromatography system delivery pressure.

Abstract: In a direct injection type automatic sampler, a sampling needle having a liquid sample collected from a sample vessel by using suction force of a pump is inserted into an injection port. Then, a flow path-switching valve is rotated to switch a flow path to make a flow of mobile phase liquid pass through a loop to thereby introduce the collected sample into a column. The injection port is directly incorporated in the flow path-switching valve.
Abstract: A glass precision valve for use in liquid measuring instruments, the valve comprising a valve body having a conically sharpened head slidably accommodated in a bulged portion, which includes glass tubes at opposite ends, a valve seat provided by the inside wall of the bulged portion, the surface of the valve seat allowing the conically sharpened head of the valve body to be slidable in a liquid-tight manner, and the valve body including a ring-shaped groove around its axis, the ring-shaped groove being filled with an elastic material.
