Abstract: A water sensor and alarm system for storage water heaters comprising an alarm housing, embedded battery, annunciator, and two bottom exposed fluid sensors separated by a stand-off. The system is designed for prompt owner notification when fluid is detected adjacent to a hot water heater tank. Notification is audible, and optionally may be in the form of remote notification, such as but not limited to a signal transmitted to the home security device connected to a 24-hour security monitoring network, or a smart phone, tablet, or other smart device. The alarm housing can be easily and quickly mounted to the side of the water heater tank. Ultra low power consumption is an important benefit provided by the alarm system, which continues during low battery warnings and water detection alarming. Also, the audible alarm may optionally include a boost circuit to amplify annunciator loudness, but at a tradeoff with conserving power.

  • Patent number: 9086169
Abstract: Drain oil is discharged into an oil drain passage from an advance angle port and discharge port, or from a delay angle port and discharge port; the drain oil may be mixed with foreign matter. The flow of such foreign matter accompanying the drain oil, even if flowing toward an electromagnetic actuator, can be hindered from reaching a high magnetic flux density portion by each of a pipe, a hollow shaft, and a collar. The high magnetic flux density portion, which is easy to be affected by influence of the foreign matter, can be prevented from suffering from the arrival of the foreign matter; this prevents an occurrence of the slide abrasion and/or the slide defect of a plunger, improving the reliability of an oil control valve.

Abstract: A plunger with evaporative base is disclosed where the evaporative base has a standoff joined to a drainage bottom and a stump and stump channel arrangement for keeping the plunger suspended slightly above the drainage bottom. A plunger is disclosed that mates with the evaporative base and has a plunger bell standoff that mates with the evaporative base standoff to further keep the plunger suspended slightly above the drainage bottom. The outer perimeter of the bell of the plunger is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the evaporative base body to allow for air circulation between the plunger bell and the evaporative base. Good air circulation and drying promotes cleanliness and reduces the incidence of mold, mildew and bacteria on the plunger and base.
