Abstract: A basement floor drain for use in basement waterproofing systems. The floor drain contains an upper chamber for collecting water, and an air resistant lower chamber to promote the establishment of a closed waterproofing system. A valve regulates flow of water from the upper chamber to the lower chamber. An outlet in the lower chamber may be fluidly connected to a basement sump to facilitate extraction of collected water. A basket may be included in a base of the upper chamber to protect the valve from clogging, and the basket may be removable to aid cleaning. The floor drain may be a modular assembly, multiple components of which may be coupled for customizable size and functionality.

Abstract: A sump system for use in basement waterproofing systems. A sump liner may be generally rectangular in geometry, and may include two side elements with apertures to exchange groundwater while blocking debris. An adjustable inlet may be provided in another side element to fluidly connect other elements of a basement waterproofing system to the sump liner. The sump liner may further include a base configured to provide a built-in stand for a sump pump. The pump stand may contain a lip with notches to allow debris to fall and collect in a trough around a periphery of the base. The base may further provide an underside cavity for accommodating an obstruction in the floor of a sump hole. A removable lid may facilitate access to the sump liner interior, and may contain a break-away feature to accommodate discharge piping, as well as a groove to lodge a pump power cord. The sump liner may be strategically oriented within the sump hole to protect the basement foundation from erosion.

Abstract: An inflatable conduit plug is used to seal a conduit such as a floor drain or an air vent. The conduit plug includes a shroud that is removably sealed within the conduit so that fluids pass through the shroud opening. Axially disposed within the shroud is an inflatable bladder adapted for closing the shroud opening. The inflatable bladder is inflated by an inflation signal generated by a controller upon receipt of a contamination signal received from a remote contamination detector. The plug operates in a wireless environment and can be controlled remotely. The plug can also be adapted for diverting contamination away from sensitive lands and storm drains.

Abstract: A drain or ducting adjustment system may include a plurality of shims to elevate or space a cover from a flange or base portion of the drain or ducting. Each shim may have a recess proximate its top end to receive the cover or a higher shim and engagement means such as a lip or threading to receive the base portion or a lower shim. Shims may be of various heights. Additionally, one or more shims may allow for an angled offset between the recess and lip, in the event that the base portion of the drain or ducting is not parallel to the ultimate substrate height. Preferably, the base of the recess and lip are generally parallel to their respective end surfaces and the recess and lip are generally cylindrical such that adjacent shims may be rotationally adjusted relative to one another to achieve a desired offset angle.

Abstract: An improved floor drain valve for buildings, basements, exterior paved areas, and the like. The invention provides floor drain assemblies and check valves providing improved drainage performance, particularly where drainage is an irregular occurrence. and having unprecedented simplicity and reliability. Floor drains according to the invention comprise check valves having elastomeric hinge structures mounting relatively rigid flapper structures biased upwardly against sealing surfaces adapted for disposition within floor drains. Water entering the valve structure opens the flapper valves by gravitational forces downwardly against the relatively rigid flapper, and after passage of the water, the valve is elastomerically urged into the sealed position restricting back flow of gases from the downstream area of the drain conduit and permitting pressure testing of the downstream conduit.
