Liquid Level Responsive Or Maintaining Systems Patents (Class 137/386)
  • Patent number: 8731725
Abstract: A fluid overfill detection and control system for controlling the transfer of fluid into a transport vehicle having multiple fluid compartments includes a plurality of overfill sensors that are connected in series with one another and that each produces an output pulse when the fluid level in its associated compartment is below a threshold level. A diagnostic line connected to each of the overfill sensors provides a diagnostic signal indicative of the number of overfill sensors that generate an output pulse, while a module on the vehicle provides an indication of the total number of overfill sensors located in the vehicle. To prevent a hazard due to the possible bypass of a overfill sensor, the controller compares the overfill sensor count signal to the diagnostic signal and inhibits the transfer of fluid into the vehicle if the values do not match.

Abstract: Fluidizing transport apparatus comprises a hopper, a pressure vessel and a valve element which controls a port between the hopper and the vessel. The valve element is retained closed against the port under pressure within the vessel. A fluidizing nozzle receives transport fluid, such as water from a fluid line. Water supplied through the fluid line thus fluidizes solids in the vessel and raises the pressure to maintain the valve element in the closed position. The fluidized solids material is then supplied to a transport pipeline from the vessel. Solids material loaded into the hopper depress the valve element when pressure within the vessel is relieved, so allowing a fresh charge of the solids material to enter the vessel for a subsequent cycle. The position of the valve element within the vessel is influenced by a float which responds to the water level within the hopper.

Abstract: In at least some implementations, a fluid level sensor for sensing the level of a fluid within a tank includes a fluid tube through which fluid flows under pressure, a pressure pulse inducer, a fluid level responsive member and a pressure sensor. The pressure pulse inducer is disposed within the fluid tube so that at least some of the fluid flowing through the fluid tube engages the pressure pulse inducer. The fluid level responsive member is operably associated with the pressure pulse inducer to provide a force on the pressure pulse inducer that varies as a function of the fluid level in the tank. And the pressure sensor at senses the pressure of the fluid flowing through the tube, where the pressure pulse inducer induces changes in the pressure of the fluid as a function of the fluid level and the changes in pressure are sensed by the pressure sensor.

Abstract: A device to shut-off a water supply to a toilet diverts water from a toilet fill valve to a shut-off valve that has a housing that includes a valve mechanism, a trip mechanism, and a trip circuit. The trip mechanism includes a rotational spring that urges closing of the valve mechanism. A trip latch is adapted to prevent closing of the valve mechanism except when withdrawn from the valve mechanism by a solenoid that is electrically connected to the trip circuit. The trip circuit includes at least one trip sensor input and a power source, such that when the trip circuit detects a fault condition on any of the trip sensors, the trip circuit connects power to the solenoid to withdraw the solenoid to close the valve mechanism. A rest knob may then be rotated to reset the valve mechanism into a valve-open position.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a fluid supply system, which comprises at least two flow meters and a control device. The at least two flow meters are disposed on at least one water pipeline and at least one lotion pipeline for generating a plurality of flow values. The control device is electrically connected with the at least to flow meters for receiving the flow values to confirm amounts of water and lotion supplied to at least one lotion sink. The present invention further discloses a fluid supply method. The control device judges whether fluid level sensors disposed on the lotion sink fail by the amounts of water and lotion, to prevent the lotion in the lotion sink from overflowing when the sensor fails, thereby reducing cost.
