Apertured Reactor Surface Surrounds Flow Line Patents (Class 137/505.25)
  • Patent number: 12146576
Abstract: A piston for a pressure-reducing valve includes a tubular housing having an internal longitudinal bore extending from a first end to a second end. An exterior circumferential sealing disc sealing engages internal walls. The sealing disc has upper and lower faces generally perpendicular to a longitudinal axis. First fluid port(s) and second fluid port(s) extend through the tubular housing and into the longitudinal bore. A piston stem sealingly engages an internal surface of the longitudinal bore between the sealing disc and the second end to prevent the passage of fluid. The piston stem, together with a portion of the longitudinal bore, forms fluid passageway(s) that fluidly connect the first fluid port(s) with the second fluid port(s). The second fluid port(s) are inclined relative to the longitudinal axis and extend through at least a portion of the sealing disc, intersecting at least a portion of the upper face thereof.

  • Patent number: 8678029
Abstract: A pressure regulator includes a housing assembly defining a main fluid flow path from an inlet end to an outlet end. A tubular plunger body is supported within the housing assembly for linear movement toward and away from a valve seat in response to fluid pressure at said outlet end. An actuator sleeve is supported within the housing assembly and engaged with the tubular plunger body, and a pressure chamber defined in part by a shut-off diaphragm extends between the housing assembly and the actuator sleeve. A fluid port is arranged to supply pressurized fluid to the pressure chamber to thereby produce linear movement of the actuator sleeve and the tubular plunger body independent of the pressure at said outlet end, moving the tubular plunger body into engagement with the valve seat to shut off the flow path.

  • Patent number: 8616228
Abstract: A multi-stage pressure regulator system. The system of the present invention provides for distribution of the Joules-Thomson (J-T) cooling effect between multiple stages. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the pressure is first reduced by a set ratio in one or more stages followed by an adjustable pressure output stage. The present invention thereby provides a system to control pressure reduction and thus prevent condensation (and associated distortion of a vapor composition sample) of a gas due to J-T cooling effect. The system of the present invention is particularly suitable for use placement (via, for example, a probe) within the source gas supply containment vessel, pipeline or the like, so that pressure reduction occurs at or near isothermal conditions, further lessening the likelihood of J-T condensation.

  • Publication number: 20130319390
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of a gas pressure regulator comprise a regulator body, an adaptor sleeve, a retainer and an indexing ring. The regulator body includes a proximal portion, a distal portion, a ported intermediate portion therebetween, and a main bore. The adaptor sleeve axially receives the distal portion and includes an outer threading for engaging an air source adaptor of a paintball marker. The retainer threadably engages the main bore within the distal end, thereby axially securing the adaptor sleeve onto the distal end. The indexing ring receives the distal portion therethrough for resiliently biased axial movement of the indexing ring between a locking position and an unlocking position. When the indexing ring is in its unlocking position, the adaptor sleeve is rotatable with respect to the regulator body. When the indexing ring is in its locking position, the adaptor sleeve is rendered substantially non-rotatable with respect to the regulator body.

A sleeve is supported within the housing assembly and is engageable with the tubular plunger body, and an actuator collar is supported externally of the housing assembly and operatively attached to the sleeve such that rotation of the actuator collar in one direction from an open position to a closed position produces linear movement of the tubular plunger body, independent of the pressure at the outlet end, into engagement with the valve seat to thereby shut off the flow path within the regulator.

Abstract: A pressure regulator is capable of automatically regulating the inlet water pressure to a compressed air foam system (CAFS), thereby allowing direct connection between a high-pressure water source, such as a hydrant, and the CAFS. The pressure regulator includes an inlet, a valve that regulates flow from the inlet, and an annular piston that circumscribes the inlet and which is linked to the valve. The relative area of the inlet and the piston determine the maximum pressure that may be attained at the CAFS water inlet, due to pressure on the piston forcing the valve closed.

The pressure stabilization unit is disposed in a first directional intake passage formed in the tool main body for controlling the pressure of the air guided by the first directional intake passage into an air chamber of the tool main body. Accordingly, excessively great intake pressure can be avoided so as to avoid over-torque output of the pneumatic tool. In this case, the pneumatic tool can stably output power within a safety range in accordance with the requirements of actual use. The pressure stabilization unit can be a pressure stabilizer or a pressure relief valve.
