  • Patent number: 8757199
Abstract: A control assembly for a fluid flow control device includes a control element, a load spring, and a spring clip. The control element can be movably disposed for controlling fluid flow, and the load spring biases the control element into a predetermined position. The spring clip contacts the load spring at a plurality of points to dampen vibrations experienced by the load spring, thereby reducing and./or eliminating resonance. The spring clip includes a body plate and first and second opposing arm plates extending away from the body plate. Each arm plate includes a proximal end adjacent the body plate, a distal end spaced away from the body plate, and a finger extending upwardly away from the distal end. A corner at an intersection between the finger and the distal end includes a contoured edge for facilitating attachment of the load spring to the spring clip.

Abstract: A pressure regulating valve includes a housing having a valve inlet and a valve outlet. A movable piston is located in the housing, and a position of the piston is determined by a selected difference between and inlet pressure and an outlet pressure. The movable piston at least partially defines one or more flow channels between the valve inlet and the valve outlet. When the movable piston is in a fully open position, an axial inlet opening at an inlet end of the one or more flow channels is smaller than an radial depth of the one or more flow channels at the inlet end of the one or more flow channels.

Abstract: A valve system designed to regulate the flow of fluids for pressure regulation systems. The valve is defined by a plurality of valve elements in the form of overlapping and interlocking valve blades that can retract and close on command, and defining a central aperture having an adjustable dimension dependent upon the relative positioning of the plurality of valve elements as they are selectively oriented between an open and closed position. The central aperture at least partially defines a free, unobstructed flow path of fluid in pressure regulation applications. The valve system can be driven mechanically or electronically. A mechanical valve control assembly can be comprised of any combination of components that facilitate the operation of said assembly. An electronic control assembly ideally comprises a plurality of sensors each transferring sensor signals to a central processing unit and Shutter Valve driver assembly for purposes of controlling the operation of the pressure regulation system.
